@Acekidder Hmmm, not stirring. Just presenting facts. There still is a mandatory day one update that all xb 1 owners must sign online to install in order to even use the system. Not just that, I haven't trusted MS business practice since they screwed me with the Xbox version one. They stopped game production as soon as they could get the 360 out of the gate.
The 360 had manufacturing issues since inception. And now this always online and used drm ordeal? who are we kidding, MS never cared about consumers. This is a share holder ordeal. Shareholders went berserk at the low pre order percentage compared to Sony. MS already told the consumer they could #Deal with it, and buy a 360 if you don't have online. This is just a PR stunt to fool consumers, it was the shareholders that got THIS CHANGED, NOT THE CONSUMER! Who will you listen to, someone who may or may not buy your product, or someone who has millions to billions invested in your company? Exactly!!
Fanboyism is when you blatantly ignore facts for a biased opinion. I own a version one xbox and elite 360. And those will be the only and last MS console I own, they fooled me once, so shame on them. They fooled me twice, so shame on me, there won't be a 3rd time!!!
so, my PAID service is offline and you can't tell me why? Hmmm.... let's all point fingers at the free online service that went down, but the one I'm PAYING $60 a year for JUST WENT DOWN!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
@huerito323 This is not a case of admitting a screw up. This is a case of fear of backlash. Preorder numbers were suffering, considerably. Anyone, who doesn't stand by their own word, should be approached with caution. The DRM is already in the XB1, so it would only take an update patch to change policy. Sony stated since February, even before the XB1 reveal, that DRM was up to the publishers of games, and not SONY. Unlike Microsoft, who said it was on ALL games. I can understand people like microsoft, and it is their right to like whatever they choose. Whether it be right or wrong.
But, all I'm stating is that logically, to trust a person, or person(s), who go back on their word. One that they seem to have absolute faith in, due to fear of backlash from others, raises suspicion. And a red flag of caution. Because it shows that the concern was never for the consumer, and honestly it still isn't. #DEAL WITH IT, # If you don't have online, buy a 360. <---- seriously? that's what we trust nowadays? where has logic and reason gone? Is society this bad off, really? WOW! SMH. But it is still up to the consumer to decide. Forgiveness is one thing, but the bridge has already been burnt.
@steelmouth I believe He is referring to the initial set up. It's a one and done online registtation of the console. After this, it is no longer always online. That is until they do an update patch down the road,.....
@penpusher Sony doesn't have that in its hardware like microsoft does. So MS can reinstate their policy with just an update. Sony would have to do a MASS recall in order to instate DRM.
@soaduk more like prejudice or bias, not racism. 2 totally different words, with totally different meanings. You have to be in a position of power and control, monetorial, and governmental to be racist, or have racism.
interesting, no one seems to consider the thought that the drm for used games checks is still configured into the hardware of the xb1. All that has to be done is one simple online update from good ole microsoft, and BAM! the policy is back. No one should be so quick to trust someone who goes against THEIR OWN WORDS! Microsoft doesn't even stand up for their own policy, but yet so many run after them because they offer you a small bit of what you asked for. But you quickly forget it was MS attempting to stab you in the back 2 seconds ago? I'm all for consumer friendly, and making a better gaming environment.
But microsoft has shown its true hand. don't be so quick to forget. Their true intent has been revealed. And so has their backbone.... and lack there of!
@Moegitto I think they said gameSPOT, not gameSTOP. And you are correct, the xbox one will do great in america vs the PS4, as the features of the xb1 are geared towards US citizens. But the PS4 will do better in the world market vs the xb1.
