ITT: Console gamers who don't care at all that something is being taken from them Every single time a feature is taken, or a measure is put in place that harms console gamers they seem to rather enjoy it. I don't get it.

[QUOTE="vashkey"][QUOTE="SW__Troll"][QUOTE="vashkey"]I wonder how much it sold on XBLA. It was the most played XBLA game last week according to majornelson. Personally, I'm not interested in it. I don't think I could play a game that's purely based on tower defense. Seems really boring.

It may seem boring, but it's not. I've already put in 6 hours, and I'm nowhere close to being done playing the game (and I haven't even gotten through 5% of the content it seems. It's kinda like horde mode, or fire fight in Gears of War/Halo, but you build different structures, have multiple classes, and you're defending a base. If you find game types like those fun then you'd probably enjoy Dungeon Defenders as well.

Yeah, then I probably would find it boring. I'm tired of the co-op survival modes. I did try the trial for Dungeon defenders and I did find it boring. I'm not saying it would be for everyone, but me personally, yeah. Being restricted to a small area killing of opponents that don't even react in very interesting way(barely above zombie level ai, bassically), it sounds kinda dull and reptitive to me. At least with a game like Monday Night Combat there also a pvp level to it, I found that fun.

Well the trial was only one of the early stages of the game, and you can only play medium difficulty. There's different monsters in some of the later levels. Ones that summon skeletons, and heal all nearby enemies, and then wyverns which can bypass defenses. It may be zombie ai, but it gets really hectic, and requires a lot of strategy in some cases. MNC was cool, but that game is dead, and has been for a long time (at least on the PC). The last time I played that was a probably June or July, and there must have only been 2-3 games running at any point with 1-2 of them being occupied by only 1 person. :(

I disagree, OP. I'm much more fond of TF2. I never really was much of a CoD fan other than the WW2 campaigns, but those are done with, so I no longer buy the games.

[QUOTE="lowe0"][QUOTE="SW__Troll"][QUOTE="lowe0"] I'm a consolite, and I was well aware of the game in question. Get over yourself.

Are you trying to tell me that advertising is not a humungous part of the console business model?

I'm trying up tell you to quit making assumptions about people.

Where's the assumption? Console owners obviously didn't really know about this game or else it should have sold better than that. There's no reason one platform should be 80% of the sales.

If that's the case then there's no reason to hate any game to be honest.

[QUOTE="SW__Troll"][QUOTE="lowe0"] This is a shining example of elitism - assuming that people only hold the opinions they do because they can't have what you have (which is in and of itself ridiculous; if we wanted mods that much, wouldn't we just switch?).lowe0

I don't know; everyone's always telling me that all I need to do is stick a GPU in my desktop and I'm off and running. So which is it? Would console owners switch? Hmmm, how many times I've heard "It's too expensive", or "it's too complicated". You can't act like it's somehow easy to just switch to PC gaming.

Oh, I don't know; I keep hearing about how all I need to do is pick up a cheap GPU, stick it in my computer, and presto! I'm a PC gamer. So which is it?

So it still requires you purchasing hardware, and tampering with your PC. How does it refute my point?

Microsoft Fight Sim doesn't train you to flly a plane, even though it can serve as a practice tool while in flight schoolsantoron
I wouldn't really go that far. From experience I've been told, by flight instructors, that Flight Simulator actually does teach you practically everything you need to know about flying a plane. And then games like DCS: A-10 Warthog actually were forced to cut certain features of the plane because of how absolutely realistic the sim was (the US government doesn't want the enemies to know how their tech works :P) Of course there's still the whole aspect of knowing what it feels like to actually be in a real plane flying it, but regardless many sim games are actually quite accurate.
