An indie gamers new best friend? That will ALWAYS be the PC given that the quality is on average way higher, and there are way more available. PC will be my best friend forever. I don't see smartphones or tablets ever taking that spot. They can be friends though.

Cuz 360 is the shooter console, its been like this for long now

:D

finalstar2007
How is the 360 the shooter console when there are more shooters on the PS3, and shooters are also the most played games on the PS3? Shouldn't they both be shooter consoles?

Trials HD: Kiddlywinks Edition.

Stevo_the_gamer
This should serve some stiff competition for the Trials HD developers.

Don't even say something like that. Trials was flat out amazing. It's not even a comparison. I feel pretty sad for PS3 fans/fanboys who still haven't got to play it.

I didn't say that was the one sole requirement. They should be made for the purpose of entertainment, above all.

nameless12345

What you're not recognizing is that just because you don't enjoy them doesn't mean others don't.

Actually I do enjoy some sims myself. What I'm trying to tell here is that some of these type of games serve more the purpose of training rather than entertainment.

In my experience I've found people play them because they want to experience something, but can't due to costs. My brother can't afford to buy himself an A-10 Warthog (Nobody can actually buy them), but he can certainly afford to pay $40 or so to get DCS: A-10 Warthog on the PC, and a nice flight control setup to go with it.

I love how console-only gamers dismiss mods, and then swarm to DLC. Mods are free DLC....

I think this discussion won't go anywhere, anyway. Of course console players know mods are awesome; they would love to have them, but since they can't, and would rather be skinned than have to recognize the PC any advantage, they pretend mods suck/are irrelevant.

Just an immature posture; you can be sure that some day, when consoles at last enter the 21st century and support mods, they'll claim ownage over PC gaming

This is a shining example of elitism - assuming that people only hold the opinions they do because they can't have what you have (which is in and of itself ridiculous; if we wanted mods that much, wouldn't we just switch?).

Would console owners switch? Hmmm, how many times I've heard "It's too expensive", or "it's too complicated". You can't act like it's somehow easy to just switch to PC gaming.

So what we're looking at is 20 million 360 owners who buy more games than 56 million PS3 owners, and 86 million Wii owners. Good to know I guess. We know who's helping the industry the most it seems.

I remember when looking at the back of the game was the deciding factor.

TheHighWind
Haha I still do that. It's got to be one of the best ways to find good games along with today watching gameplay videos. If you know what you're getting, and you're interested in it then there's a really high chance you'll enjoy the game. I own hundreds of games, and have played thousands in my lifetime. I have hated about as many games as you have fingers. I buy my games by looking at the back of the box :P I'm never going to be naive enough to think reviews are actually going to point me in the right direction. If a game is uninteresting to me then even if it got 15's out of 10 across the board I'd still not find it to be very fun.

Skyrim is 59.99 on Steam

PC games are mostly 59.99 nowadays. 49.99 is gone.

lundy86_4

Go check Steampowered.com. Only a couple of new release games are $59.99. Games like Arkham City, Stronghold 2, Heroes VI are launching for $49.99 (from the main page).

Not only that, but plenty of full retail titles on the PC release at below that standard price as well. E.Y.E. released at $20, Hard Reset at $30, RO:HoS released at $40, and Men of War at $35.

I've seen people on SW going: 'I don't like mods. I want to play my game like the developer intended'

Chris_Williams

Again, I love RO and DoD but left them out because of their PC exclusivity.

And yes, people on SW all the time give hatred and reasons against mods. In this thread alone, the 'I don't like mods. I want to play my game like the developer intended' reason has already been given.

and there you guys throwing around the hate word, i don't hate mods, i don't dislike mods, i think mods are amazing and what the community does with them are crazy, i just like playing games the way they were made, i know i'm probably missing out on some amazing mods but i understand that and i'm alright with that. so i don't hate mods or have anything against them, mods are legit i'm just whatever about them.

How can you come to the conclusion that mods are amazing if you don't ever use them? How do you appreciate them if you never use them, and get zero enjoyment out of them?
