[QUOTE="unkipower"]The PSN is in fact good for not having to lug about the UMD's but let's be honest here, how long do you actually have in between ordering food and getting it to play more than one game. Most games shouldn't get that unappealing that after 20-30minutes you are ready to move onto the next one and even if that is the case, the food will probably all ready be there. The 3000 can download just like the Go and can even play all the games that one cant/will not be able to download such as RPG's or the newest Kingdom Hearts . Personally, all i need is a good RPG to keep me occupied for hours let alone half of one. For the portability issue, guess it also depends on the pocket the person has. I put mine in my knee pocket, not the hip, but then again I'm probably the only person who actually wears cargo pants and not jeans. Either way I'm sure that if you are going somewhere that is such a long trip you need a movie you can probably just pack it a bag and pull it out during the trip and there are probably people out there with a psp and oh say an mp3 player. When you say the "Go won't disappoint", you might want to take it up with everyone on the page before and on other threads. I carry my psp go as my primary portable device and trust me it beats the 3000 on that 6 hour flight from nevada to michigan or new york to cali. I personally just like keeping it in my pocket and bring it out and the 3000 does not fit well in my pockets and also I hate carrying UMDs with my 2000 I have broke atleast 4 UMDs so in short if your a heavy travler get a goLOVE THE PSP GO. UMDs were a big fail for me, ruined the fact of the console being portable, say I wanted to go to a restraunt with my family and wanna play a PSP 3000 while waiting for food, I would only take one game cause I wouldnt be holding a bunch of UMD's, thats stupid. Also if you love listening to music often and watching movies on handhelds, PSP go wins easily over the 3000, because you can actually nicely put it in your pocket. And anyway, every game released from now on will be released on the Playstation Store and on UMD's, so for getting new PSP games, The Go won't dissapoint.

Get a go unless you love JRPGS
Also now would be a great time to get a Wii 200 bucks get a black wii wii sports wii sports resort and wii motion plus and you can catch up on all the great games both marios zelda metroid brawl mario kart the lsit goes on and on
I'm not going to lie. I grew up with Nintendo and bought every Nintendo console except the Wii. Lately I've been missing Mario and company but I just can't pull myself up to buy a Wii. I don't know but I just can't do it. Here are some things that turn me off. If youWii playerscan counter my points or misconceptions I might buy one. Really itchin' to play some Mario. Here are my reasons why I've stayed clear of the Wii. For those of you that have also stayed away can you relate to my points? If not what are your reasons for not playing on the Wii?
1. Motion controls: I just don't like the whole motion control craze this gen. For example I would love to play New Super Mario Bros,Super Mario Galaxy or Metroid other Mbut why should I have to control Mario by wiggling the controller? This is lame. Does Nintendo give you the option for conventional controls in these games?
2. Wiimote accuracy (or lack thereof): Cue in Kevin Butler. I don't know about you but this seems to be the biggest problem with the Wii. The damn wiimote just doesn't seem accurate or responsive and with Move on the horizon it makes it look worse. Miyamoto's demonstration of the new Zelda at E3 didn't help change this perception....wireless interference? WTF?
3. No HD: Is Nintendo serious? What year is this? I'll never understand why Nintendo just didn't give consumers the option the way MS did out of the gate to choose between SD or HD. Get real. I have a 52 inch Sony Bravia. Can any of you convince me that the Wii will look good on my TV?
4. The online stuff: Why must I be identified by numbers and letters? WTF?! Doesn't this make things a pain? How is the online stuff? I'm just assuming it's terrible.
5. Long delays between game releases: Seriously as long as I've known Nintendo they take very long in between game releases. Seems like this is still going on. Am I wrong? The lack of 3rd party support doesn't help either.

Motion controls can be fun in the case of mario you use it for the spin move that is it it is fine and honestly Metroid controls better then any other console shooter I have played
Move helps drastically and miyamotos demo went hay wire because of a **** ton of light and interference I doubt you have studio lights in your home
Component cables a lot of Wii games look great even on my 50 inch sony SXRD
Outside of Mario kart i dont play my Wii online but then again I live with my friends and the ones I dont live with are a quick drive away and most nintendo games i play are single player
You can find lots of great games on Wii regardless of it being made by Nintendo or not last year Punch Out Muramasa and the VC realeses were fine for me considering I have a PS3 and 360
Overall I love my Wii and its a great secondary console
Opps :P I like sandbox games, wrestling games and role playing games but dislike first person shooters, platforming games and driving games :P I didn't choose my PS3 (it was my 15th birthday gift!) but never quite regretted it (what with Killzone 2 and Infamous!). However, now that I've tried nearly all of their exclusives (except for Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls), I was wondering if I should swap over and try Splinter Cell: Conviction and Alan Wake :) bobbleheadrogueNo uncharted 2 punches both of those games in the face and then some get a ps3 its the smart move
First time playing it. I only recently got my hands on a ps3 and I'm borrowing MGS4, God of War 3, UC1 and 2 and Heavy Rain.[QUOTE="clyde46"][QUOTE="TehNubTuber"]Replaying MGS4? Or are you a virgin? I wish I was a virgin =(muzik_mafia
Prepare for the best month of your LIFE
Month outside of uc1 i beat all of those games in 15 hours or less but all of them are extremly high quality and def worth buying and Heavy rain is an easy platinumSarge - I'm sure that's likely to happen. I just hope it doesn't happen for as long as possible. Assuming we don't end up with cloud gaming or whatever else, I'm guessing I'd probably just get whatever Nintendo system got released and just buy the certified classics etc. Besides that I'd probably stick with retro stuff and the sort of small games that are currently thriving thanks to their low price and downloadable delivery from that point on. All assuming I'm still interested in games at that point of course. :-P

I also want to support the developer, and do so with my £. I don't see a download-only future as particularly fair on the consumer though. Punish everyone just because some people choose to pirate games? Hardly fair is it?
Same as with that Cloud gaming thing, if gaming eventually does go download only I suspect that might be the point where I stop.

Im with you both on this matter in some ways and not in others. I have a Go also and will always get the DD copy over a UMD copy every time. It supports the developer as well as the publisher. Atlus and NIS have been publishing a lot of Japanese titles over here and I purchased everyone from psn to give them my support. Of course if more people pirated one of their games or bought them used then these publishers will stop releasing them here and eventually developers will abandon the platform.
My biggest concern, however, is toward used games. Gamestop/EB games is making a huge profit with the buying and selling of used games that its really hurting publishers in that they have to release games as DD and not drop prices. Piracy will always be limited to the small percentage of the group while its the mass majority that support used games.
I dont really understand where the PSP go gets its bad rep from. Maybe its mostly from us spoiled consumers who play a game, sell it, and use the money to purchase another used game therefore resulting in our distaste for full priced games. Mark my words, it may be 5 years, 10, or 20 years time but publishers will weigh the cost of packaging and distributing and instead go the route of direct download only. Its starting to happen on the pc more and more each year, and one day when the last gamestop store closes youre going to get your games only thru the internet.
Would be nice if there was a way to still get the games digitally, but be allowed to buy from a range of online stores. That way you could still keep competition. Not that Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft etc would want that of course, so it's not likely. The lack of being able to sell games would still bother me though and for me that'd kill off much of the chance of me trying something new and unfamiliar as far as the bigger games go. On the PSN store in particular, the pricing is incredibly haphazard, some great games are absolute bargains (Pixeljunk Monsters, Puzzle Quest etc) while others are total rip offs. Deleting digital downloads even as "low" as £20 and £15 (such as Warhawk and Tekken 5 etc) to free HD space and because I hate the games (or in Tekkens case, bought the sequel) kinda feels like a swift boot to the nethers. :P Having to free space won't be such an issue in the future I expect, but regretting buying the games will.
As for piracy or hacking etc, don't Microsoft ban people's online accounts for stuff like that? That sort of solution would suit me. Even go as far as bricking the system for a set period of time as punishment, and if they get caught and warned three times, brick it permanently. As you say though, pirates for the most part are in the minority, although the PSP and DS have suffered more than most in that respect.
As someone who buys a fair number of games and always wants to try something new, I end up buying a lot of sh*t (or just games that might be good, that I hate). Not being able to sell that stuff is likely to prevent me from buying more new games. Also, if they can save money on packaging, instructions and distribution etc with the digital downloads, some of the benefits of that saving should be used to make the games more affordable to the consumer. Especially if they shove adverts down your throat when you play.
My thing with the anti-used games stance is that when I buy something, be it a car, a book, a video game or a guitar, in my opinion it should be mine to sell on regardless of whether the developer, author or car/guitar manufacturer gets any of it. I'm always happy to try something out if it's a bargain as you don't lose much if you just delete it, but games like Okami, Scribblenaughts, Phoenix Wright, RPGs, Uncharted, annual sports games etc would be the types of games I'd stop buying at full price if I didn't have an 'escape' option.
I want ti to happen as soon as possible Nintendo Wii HD the 720 and the PS4 im hoping there realesed in 2020 and are Download only with a terabyte harddrive. And fixing the buying bad game thing is rentals make it so you can rent games online we already do it with movies on my 360 zune is so easy just pay my 6 bucks great streaming HD movies why not do the same with games pay 8 bucks rent a game for 5 days.
So, I'll be buying a PSP Go at the end of August, not really looking for a 3000, I've ditched UMDs a long time ago, have a 2000 with a questionable UMD drive, and mainly want the form factor and the internal memory. just a few basic questions.
1. Is the black model too much of a fingerprint magnet? i'm kind of OCD about that, hell its part of the reason i upgraded to DSi.
2. Since theres no difference in region, can i buy a system in canada, regester it and get the 3 free games?
3. if the black one is a print magnet, are there any issues with the white one?
darkspineslayer
Yes hell yes I clean it daily
I would guess no since you register it through ur psn account
the white one has sparkles that look really nice
It organizes them fine quit complaining or do it in the playstation blog where people actually careHow badly can Sony screw up the simple act of adding folders to the PSP? Here's how:
You might want to be able to put their minis in one folder, demos in another and perhaps categorise their games in other ways. What does Sony let you do?
It automatically creates a PSP folder for ALL your games, a PlayStation folder for ALL your PSOne titles and adds two folders for PCEngine and NeoGeo, for which there is no content, yet.
Worse, Sony thinks its stinky DRM system is so important, that there is a seperate view with folders for games With Expire Date, Expired and Without Expire Date. I mean seriously, who gives a rat's behind?
Especially as it took Sony six months to release any kind of update - so when they do, they release one which has no practical purpose, no logical benefit to the user and only a smidgeon of good news for ****c game fans.Goffee71

Ok as a person who owns both ill break it down the Go is easier to carry around and the screen is better and I find the controls more comfortable. Also Built in 16 gigs is very nice and the 3 free games you get with the go is very nice the bad of course no UMDs so you miss out on some games and you will have to buy a card and 16 gigs can cost 40-80 dollars. Personally if its your 1st psp id get a Go
damann22
well i have a go also and I always suggest a go for those who already have a psp especially a 1000 or 2000. I love my go but with my 1000 i have the option to purchase a umd game if its not released on the psn. However if its a dual release then I always get the psn copy. Just get a 3000 with at least a 16gb memory stick and youll be set.
BTW which ever one you get you really cant go wrong. The hate on the Go is misguided a lot as its based on its price and that most people stick with physical media. I remember when there was no itunes or ipod but when it came people didnt like it and stuck with cds. But look how it is now with the iphone and itunes apps, music and video store. Direct download will eventually be the entire handheld future. Also I can almost gurantee that the psp2 will be only backwards compatable with psn games and not umds.
Thank the lord forget physical media lets get on the fast track to download only
