When You Can Live Forever What Do You Live For?

Ok to let all my loyal GS readers know (I don't even know if I have any but it sounds cool to say that :P). This could be my last blog for a while-if not ever- I will explain (some of the reasons) to why this could be my last blog for a while-if not ever- throughout the blog as well as at the end of the blog. Therefore this blog will probably be the longest blog you've seen or read from me. You're more than welcome to stop reading or to skip sections at anytime you want... ;)

The title of this blog is a pretty cool tagline from the upcoming film Twilight based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Stephenie Meyer with the same title. I recently finished reading the novel and I must admit that I liked it. I was very apprehensive at first because I suspected that I wasn't going to be able to get through the novel. To my surprise I was drawn as I read each line of the novel. If you're a dude and have a slight clue what the novel is about, you may be asking yourself what's wrong with me. Allow me to tell you that nothing is wrong with me :D. I just appreciate good writing; there are plenty of books that I've read where the writing wasn't nearly as good as Stephenie Meyer's. It was easy to be hooked to each chapter, the characters are very interesting and the story itself is pretty cool. There is tons of romance, which I would agree would disinterest a majority of dudes (and I see why girls love the series of novels). I understand that (some) dudes don't like to consider themselves as romantic because it could tarnish their image as the "alpha male". Well, I'm not one of those dudes, although I don't consider myself to be romantic, I'm more open to sensible feelings than most dudes I know. Does that tarnish my image as an "alpha male"? I don't think so. Anyways, this section of my blog isn't supposed to be an argument about whether or not dudes should be open to novels like Twilight (or to sensible feelings for that matter); we all have our opinions and options. This section is more about recognizing a well written novel :). I was very indifferent to reading the novel. I remember horseyjesse getting really excited about the Twilight trailer, so I asked her what it was all about. One night I came across a teaser for the movie. The teaser was about a fighting scene full of action. The concept of vampires battling each other is what caught my attention :o. I still wasn't interested on reading the novel; I was willing to watch the movie though. Horseyjesse suggested that I should read the book before I saw the film. At first, even I thought I wasn't going to be able to read it :?. I decided to give it a try since I was looking for something to read. To my surprise I ended up liking it :D. I feel that if you're a dude and you like well written books, you'll get over all the romance throughout the novel. So if you're looking for something interesting and different to read, I recommend Twilight.

Today my quest for CPA supremacy got under way :). For those of you who don't know, I'm going to be a fourth year college student double majoring in economics and accounting with emphasis in economic research and development and managerial accounting :D. My ultimate goal is to become a business development executive in the video game industry. If I had it my way, I would love to work for Microsoft since Xbox is my console of preference, but I wouldn't mind to work for anyone else ;). As a matter of fact, I will have an interview with Take 2 Interactive's Rockstar for an intern position. I love the economic aspect of the video game industry! It's awesome. If I don't get to become a business development executive though, I will try to attempt to become an accountant. I just finished working as an intern at an accounting firm and I learned so much and I became very interested in the field. Although working in the video game industry is what I really want to do, I could see myself being an accountant as well (I got to have a plan B if plan A isn't successful after all). I don't start my regular school year until late September (my b-day month as well :)), but today was my first day of a prep course I'm taking with the intention of taking my CPA exam. The course is going to be really interesting in spite of my familiarity with the material we're covering. I can't take the exam until the Spring, since I have to have a certain number of upper division accounting courses (which I will have by Spring) I felt that preparing for the exam earlier wouldn't hurt though ;). The only down side of this is that my gaming time will be limited :(.

Since I finished my internship at the accounting firm I had to get a job. I was lucky enough to be hired at a Credit Union fairly close to my school. I really like working there :). I get to interact with really cool people as well as with interesting people. I worked at a financial institution for two years before getting my internship at the accounting firm, so I was prepared for the fun (and sometimes not so fun) ride from the rollercoaster that working at a financial institution is. Most co-workers are pretty cool, there a few exceptions but I won't dwell on that in this blog. One of the reasons that this could be my last blog for a while-if not ever- is because the board of directors at my work wants to enforce a policy that will prohibit employees to be associated with social networks (Facebook, Gamespot, Myspace, etc...). The policy is supposed to protect the image of the institution. Although there is some legality that the policy has to address, the board of directors is known to be successful at enacting policies. In addition, I'm probably the youngest employee the company has, thus there's not much opposition from the other employees (although I hope there is enough to stop them from enacting the policy). I somewhat understand the policy, although I don't fully agree with the policy. As a matter of fact, I'm blogging about my company right now. Even though I'm not belittling the company (and I'm not even mentioning its name nor will I mention it either) I am disclosing publicly my discontent with the policy, hence I'm somewhat affecting the image of the company (remember though that I'm not mentioning nor will I mention its name). The board of directors wants to be able to just avoid this altogether. I would strongly oppose to the policy, but I love to work at that place too much to taint my image with the company. I know that sounds very cowardly from me since I'm not going to be standing out for my rights and all, but I don't need that extra stress . Once school starts, I'll have plenty to worry about (in addition I have some personal quarrels that I have to deal with as it is). I just hope that they don't enact the policy and I'm able to keep my social networking going, its fun!

In my last blog I asked some of my readers to help me out in choosing some games for my X360. It was very helpful as I've narrow my decisions, thanks :). A dilemma occurred today as I was trying to figure some things out. I may have to take a hiatus from gaming :(. I really don't want to as I'm having tons of fun, and I seem to find a very cool escape from my everyday stress (which isn't much but enough to seek an escape). Also, I'm afraid I'm going to fall so behind that I will suck at gaming (not that I'm a great gamer now, decent perhaps ;)). I just don't seem to make things work out. Last time I opened up a blog with a rhetorical question about the pieces fitting together and then watching them all crumble down, I'm starting to believe in that concept :?. Complications arise from left and right. I really don't want to. At least my little bro will benefit if I got through with the hiatus. I did this before, where I left gaming and then came back. I don't want to have to do it again. I love my X360!! I love to play FPS and TPS, I love playing sport games, fighting games, even RPG's! I got tons of figuring out to do.

Well I really hope this is not my last blog for a while-if not ever- and as I mentioned throughout the blog, some of the reasons why this could be my last blog for a while-if not ever- would include the policy the board of directors want to enact at my work, the hiatus that I may be taking from gaming, and there is some other personal reasons that would make no sense to anyone if I listed them. Ultimately, I really hope to be back sooner than later. I've really enjoyed my time here at GS and I want to keep enjoying my time :D. Thanks to horseyjesse for introducing me to this pretty cool community :D. Feel free to comment if you want. I will still be checking GS in the next few days and I will also comment on your blogs while I still can...if after that you seem to notice my absence, then at least you know why. I guess at that point, you can clean me out of your friends list (that's provided that I do leave for good). If I'm back I expect you to re-track me. Have fun Gamespotters! And thanks for reading :) !!!!

There's A Point We Pass From Which We Can't Return

Have any of you felt like the pieces fit but all of a sudden you watched them just crumbled down? Well, that's the best analogy I could think to describe how I feel right now...just when I thought the pices fit, I wacthed them fall away! Oh well, just got to try to put the peices back together again...:|

Anyways, enough inane analogies ;)...let me tell you about my lilttle dilemma:
I can't seem to be able to budget in order to get all the games I want:

Lego Batman Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Fable II Dead Space

By the way, I didn't mention GOW2 because I gave in and I pre-oredered this:

Gears of War 2 Amazon.com Exclusive Lancer Gears of War 2

Perhaps when I work in the industry I'll have a more accessible budget to get the games I want ;)

In the meanwhile, I'm going to have to settle for perhaps just a couple of games...I've been wanting Lego Batman since I saw it announced so I'm getting that no doubt. I can't decide what to get among the others in my list, so why don't you help me and give me your recommendation? :D

I can't wait to go home and play :) !

I Blame The Dentist

Well, it's not really the Dentist's fault, but thanks to a Dentists visit I missed my friend's B-day get-away to the beach!

Hopefully, I get to hang out with my friends when they get back from the beach...to consolate myself, I'm going to go play Oblivion...

A Quick Complain..!

Oh my, GS looks quite different than it did a day ago! I guess that's what happens when I don't log in for a day lol...;). Quickly, I'd like to complain to all my readers (I don't think there's many) about a GS member! If I decide to track a GS user, is usually becuase I found one of their blogs interesting. Vice versa, I feel that the GS user may find my blog post interesting. Well, I was wrong!! I decided to track a GS member (I will not say who out of respect and to avoid repercussions). The GS member sent me a PM asking me to stop the tracking, because according to this GS member "I don't do anything"! :? WTH!!! I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit offended:x! I know that I'm not as involved on GS as others are, but I feel I'm involved enough not to be asked to stop the tracking! Oh well, it explains why my GS friend's count is low. I guess "I just don't do anything" lol :P...

My Love For You Is Like a Truck!

Another day on the job...I l o v e it!! The Adventures of the Financial World!!

The weekend was pretty cool! I got to spend some time with the crew. As the summer nears an end, some of my friends are heading back to their respective universities. My friend Reba (not her real name, but I call her that lol :D) was the first to go back to Happy Valley. I'm gonna miss her (at least until I see her again during the winter)!

Well, so I never and I mean almost never make online purchases. I know, I know, you may be thinking: "you're missing out on great deals!" And I'll agree with you, I am! I just feel that I'm not good at finding those deals! I mean, I even have to get help from my awesome buddy horseyjesse to find deals! She's an amazing online shopper! If it wasn't for her, I would probably not have some of the cool stuff I have! Thanks buddy!!

Well, this past weekend...I found my first deal online! Woohooo!! :D! I'm going to be taking motorcycle lessons pretty soon in order to get my motorcycle license! I'm eventually going to get a motorcycle as well (I think that's blatant lol ;) ). Well, in order to be safe there's a few things that I have to own: a helmet, a jacket, gloves, and boots. So last friday as I was at work, I was browsing the net doing some research. I came across a pretty good deal on a helmet!

I got an Arai Vector! The mrsp is $695.95. I got it for $450.00. (No shipping and handling as I drove to pick it up at the bike shop). I even got gloves for free (kinda lol)!!

It was funny to see the reaction my parents had when I came home with a motorcycle helmet. Now the next thing I got to save for is the jacket and the boots (and of course the motorcycle!!).

Of course, what I really want and like and I'll have to work hard for:

A 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R!!

The only thing I have to balance from now on is the money I spend on video games lol...

Talking about that, I can't resist and I want to go ahead a pre-ordered the GOW2 Lancer Bundle! It's so freaking awesome!!

Look at how much fun Mr. Bleszinski is having! I want one too!!

Provided that I could be such a kid, I'm pretty sure it would be tons of fun to have it! I mean if I was able to get a kick out poster tubes at Comic-Con, I'm positively sure I can have hours of fun with a life size Lancer!

Man oh man! How I wish I was making six figures already!!! It sucks to be a college student living on a budget! :?

There's school expenses that are coming up and I just don't seem to have the extra $$$ to get that awesome Lancer!

I'm just going to have to sit down and prioritize!

Cheers everyone! Have a great rest of the week!!

I'm Running Into The Wild...

Haha!! Not really!

I just watched the movie with a co-worker during lunch and we both decided that at one point in our lives we got to run away to the mountains and get lost for at least a month lol...

In other news! It's my Poppa's b-day today! I'm excited for him lol!! :)

Thanks to those who commented on my emo post lol!

Things are looking up now!! :D

From now on...I've decided I'm going to deal with things very differently and I promise I won't bore you with non-gamer emo posts lol.

Oh, is there a rule against posting multiple blogs in one day? If, so I just broke that rule :P

Wouldn't It Be Nice...

If I had a button I could push to turn my thoughts off?? Wishful thinking!

I would warn you and tell you that this blog post is going to be a pointless rant about how I can't sleep because a thousand thoughts are circling my head falling to one conlusion that I've known all along, but I feel that you would still read it anyways. Feel free to stop at any time you'd like though..!

I really hate sleepless nights likes this..I just really hate to feel like this. I seriously wish that I could have a "numb" botton. For times like this when my thoughts and feelings get the best of me. It would be nice just to press it and clear things out of my head.

The reason why I feel like this you may ask? It's a very complicated situation that I created to myself. That's the best way to explain the roots of my thoughts and conclusions.

I coudln't even enjoy myself around my friends nor was I able to enjoy playing my X360 neither.

I just whish it would go away...but it probably won't and I'll have to learn to live with it.

Tomorrow will be a brand new day!

The Streak Ended...

This summer I was lucky to have a streak of consecutive awesome weekends! The Streak ended this weekend :(.

This weekend pretty much sucked! It all started on Friday. I woke up pretty much miserable: I had a sore throat, my voice was almost gone, and my temparature was slightly high. I didn't go to work which means I didn't get pay for the day. I lost $$$!! No work= No pay!! I got better after taking some medication...than in the afternoon I find out that my friends were planning on going to see Wall-E. My friend had called me the previous day, but for some odd reason I didn't get the V-mail he left me. I had no idea of the plans, so 5 mins before everyone was supposed to meet my friend asked me on Live (I was playing my X360 :D) if I was going...well I had no clue of the plans, so I had already made plans with my family (I was still feeling a bit sick). I missed going to see Wall-E with my friends, all thanks to my stupid cell :?.

Saturday was not an exception. My Dad's car broke down, so he took my car all day. I wasn't able to go anywhere. It sucks not having a car. I wasn't going to say "No" to my Dad (what kind of son would I be if I said "No"? :o) All I did was play more X360, at least that was a positive in my day.

Sunday was typical: I went to church then I went home. I watched t.v. all afternoon. Once gain my Dad took my car to run his errans, so I was carless. I really didn't have that good of a weekend! Oh, well perhaps next weekend should be better..!

I'm also upset becuase both my friends named Matt (for some reason that amuses me lol  ) are planning camping trips around the same dates. But that is not the problem. The problem is: I'm not going to be able to go to either trip. The reason: I couldn't get the days off from work. It makes me upset because I went camping a summer ago and it was tons of fun! The real world sucks lol ;)!! I really hope my friends have fun though!!

In a more positive note: I was able to get around the firewall blocking the chat function on fb so I could chat with my awesome buddy horseyjesse :). The IT dude at my work told me that he would give me $25.00 if I got around it, since I did I was able to get $25.00 from him :P. That made my day!

I got to apologize if this bored you, but I had to rant about how my weekend sucked! Thanks for reading!!

If you see typos or grammatical errors or mispelled words, I apologize as well. Since I'm at work, I'm not proof reading at all !!!

My Comic-Con 2008 Experience!

Ok, I procrastinated enough. Let me tell you about my Con experience:

I will warn you that this blog is not nearly as detailed as horseyjesse's! I'm pretty sure she would not mind you reading her blog, so here's a link to her Con blog: very detailed blog about Comic-Con 2008!

Let me start by giving horseyjesse a thank you shout out! If it wasn't for her, I would have not found out about Comic-Con. So Thank You! Thank you especially for letting me share that awesome experience that Comic-Con is with you =]!

Well, as you can tell from the shout out above, I found out about Comic-Con through my awesome buddy horseyjesse. When I made my decision that I wanted to go the 4-day pass was sold out! I was going to initially buy single day tickets, but that would mean that I would not be able to attend preview night (the night before Comic-Con was officially open). I ended up finding a link that said that volunteers were needed for Comic-Con. If you volunteer you would get into the event for free and you had the privilege to go to preview night. All you had to do was volunteer for three hours every day that you wanted to attend the event. I went ahead and decided to volunteer.

Preview night was really cool! We got to explore the exhibition hall and see what we could expect of the event. It was so cool because we got some experience on getting free stuff =]. Comic-Con was pretty cool! We got to go to pretty cool panels and we got to explore the exhibit hall and we got tons of free stuff!

The volunteering experience was really interesting. I felt that for being a huge convention, the volunteer program was unorganized. The first day they didn't know what I was supposed to do. It got progressively better. It was a cool experience, but I will buy my 4-day pass for next year.

The Panels were so awesome! Even though we had to sit through some panels that we didn't really wanted to see, the wait was well worth it! We even enjoyed some of the panels that we had to sit through.

The long wait in the lines kinda suck at times, but they were well worth it once we got super cool stuff.

It was so much fun to geek out with tons of people! I enjoyed taking pictures and I was being a kid lol!

I got to meet a few celebrities. I met Cliff Bleszinski and Josh Ortega. I met Jason Statham. I met Antony Johnsonst and Ben Templesmith. I met Jerry Robinson. And I kinda met David Zayas lol.

Overall, Comic-Con was super fun!!

If you ever have the chance to go to I would highly recommend you to do it! I can't wait to go back next year!!

Procrastination..!

I'm procrastinating big time!! I was supposed to blog about my Con experience today, but I totally got hooked playing Penny Arcade Adventures: On The Rain-Slick Precipice Of Darkness Episode 1! The game is so freaking funny (I highly recommend if you're a PA reader!). The game is a lot more involved than I expected it to be! I'm totally hooked! I couldn't put the controller down! I will try and blog about my Con experience tomorrow =] (more like later today lol)!
