I'm Extremely Happy And Exhausted..!

I wasn't planning on login in today due to the fact that I got back from sunny San Diego a couple of hours ago and I'm extremely exhausted. But as I wait to upload the photos from my camera to my computer, I decided to quickly check GS (it feels like I've been gone forever lol). I will be telling you all about Comic-Con 2008 in future blogs (you can also check HorseyJesse for more blogs about Comic-Con!). Let me just quickly tell you that it was amazingly awesome! I just need to recuperate and I'll be blogging about Comic-Con with more detail! I need to go rest and get some real sleep!! I got to go to work tomorrow and I really don't feel like I can lol...oh well! Cheers!! I'll be blogging more in the upcoming days!!

The World I love, The Tears I drop, The Trains I Hop, To Be Part Of The Wave....

....Can't Stop, ever wonder if it's all for you!!

Haha, I'm extremely excited at the moment!! In a few hours I'll be leaving to sunny San Diego with my buddy HorseyJesse and my other friend. We'll be going to Comic-Con 08. This is my first Comic-Con so I'm pretty excited about it! I'll be volunteering at the event so that's going to make it more memorable!! I will be off for a few days while I'm at Comic-Con, but I'll have plenty to blog about when I come back!!

Well, I hope all of you have a great week and weekend!

Btw, if you can recognize the lyrics I used in the title for this blog and you can name the artist and song (and album if you're a hardcore fan) that'll make me happy when I come back =]

Do You Want To Know Why Nintendo's E3 Press Conference Wasn't Good?

Ok...I've been meaning to post a blog about what I want to do after college in realtion to gaming, but I keep procrastinating. I will be doing that soon (it's saved on my files lol). As for right now, I would like to share a very interesting article I read in my new favorite website: gamesindustry.biz. A little background of the website: the website is pretty much a detailed website dealing with the business side of gaming. Some of you may be interested in it...some of you may not. This article is defenitely interesting though So here is a link to the article. And for those who don't want to go directly to the article here it is:

Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has said that E3 is no longer an event where the company will be showing off games aimed at the core gaming audience.

The company has faced criticism this week from loyal fans disappointed that Nintendo barely focused on any of its core gaming franchises such as Zelda and Mario, but instead unveiled more mainstream sports and music games.

"For a very long time, E3 was an event where - and certainly Nintendo included - catered specifically to the core gamer. Now we look at more ... an opportunity for us to introduce new concepts and new types of play that we intend to bring to the broader audience, particularly because of the media that gathers at E3 now," said Miyamoto to MSNBC.

During the E3 Media & Business Summit Nintendo stated that its dedicated Zelda, Mario and Pikmin teams are busy working on new projects, but no specific details were given, leaving loyal fans disappointed.

But Miyamoto said that although the teams were busy, E3 isn't the right place to showcase core franchises and fan-favourites.

"So while attending an E3 event like this, they might be given the impression that Nintendo is no longer focusing on the games that appeal to the core gamer, in fact we're still working on many of those titles, but it's just not the type of event where we'll be showcasing that anymore."

After reading the article, I was able to understand why Nintendo's E3 press conference sucked! I hope you found it interesting...

I'm sorry I couldn't give more insight, but I'm doing this on my lunch hour at work and I got to get back!!

And Here...We...Go!!!

Oh Man!! The Dark Knight was absolutely amazingly awesome!! I got back a few mins ago from watching it and I'm still excited about it!!

I was literally marking the days off my calendar. My friends and I waited for about two hours (may be a bit more) in line but it was all worth it!! I absolutely loved the movie!! I'm not going to write much about the movie because I have to go to sleep and because I feel that I would write too many details about it, thus ruin the amazing experience for those who haven't seen it yet!!

The Dark Knight made me happy because it was amazing!!

The Dark Knight made me sad...it didn't hit me until today when I realized that Hollywood had lost a very good actor. I won't be surprised if Heath Ledger receives a posthumous Oscar (or at least a nomination). He was incredible! I found new respect (not that I didn't have it before) for Heath Ledger. One memorable performance as the Joker! R.I.P. Heath Ledger!

If you're a Batman fan (and even if you're not) I have a good feeling that you will really enjoy this movie!! It's awesome!!

Too Much Hype...Only One Thing To Look Forward To...

From the GamSpot review by Aaron Thomas: "Playing NCAA Football 09 is like watching your favorite college team blow up a lower division opponent; fun, but not very surprising."

After reading the review, I feel that I creaeted too much hype for NCAA Football 09. I wasn't able to go pick up my copy just yet, but I feel that I will be a bit dissapointed. The only one thing to look forward to: The Online Dynasty (that I won't be able to experience until I get my Live subscription). Oh well, it should be fun to play anyways..! Perhaps after actually playing the game I'll be less dissapointed, and I'll be able to make a more concrete judgement of the game...

E3 MS press conference was awesome, Nintendo was ok, Sony was ok!! I know what I want to do after college!! (a blog about that is coming soon!!)

Just Another Greagt Weekend..!

Ok, so lately I've been having pretty awesome weekends! I'm very reluctant to go to work this week. Although I do have The Dark Knight to look forward toward the end of this work week, I'm very excited about the movie! Well, let me tell you a little bit about this weekend. It all started with going over Dan the Man's house. HorseyJesse babysits Dan the Man (he is 13 years young, I think). Dan the Man and his buddy like to play COD4. HorseyJesse and I like to play COD4 as well. Friday night I went over to play with him and his buddy. It was pretty fun. As usual, I got my butt kicked by the 13 year olds as well as by HorseyJesse. I did some killing of my own though. It was tons of fun!! We played for a couple of hours. After the kids got tired of playing, I stayed for a few more hours talking to HorseyJesse. I got to admit it, I love spending time with her! HorseyJesse is such an amazingly awesome person. I'm so very lucky to have her as a friend!! We talked about one of her favorite things: movies. She's very excited about the upcoming movie Twilight. The movie is based on the current #1 New York Times Bestselling series by Stephenie Meyer. I haven't read the book, so she was telling me about what the movie is going to be about. Here is a Synopsys from the movie's official website: TWILIGHT is an action-packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she's ever met. Intelligent and witty, he sees straight into her soul. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Edward can run faster than a mountain lion, he can stop a moving car with his bare hands and he hasn't aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he's immortal. But he doesn't have fangs, and he doesn't drink human blood; Edward and his family are unique among vampires in their lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), the Cullens mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her? Ok, so you got vampires, romance, action, suspense and did I mention vampires?? It sounds pretty good. I saw a few reels from the movie and there was a lot of action going on. I will go see it when it comes out on 12-12-08, so I hope HorseyJesse invites me to go see it with her lol... I totally digressed from what I'm attempting to blog about, but I think this movie is worth the mention. Let's get back on track. On Sat, I went to do one of my favorite things in the world: surfing. When I'm not gaming, I really like to try to get out to the beach and catch some waves. There's something about being out in the ocean catching waves that is so relaxing. Sat was a perfect long board day, since the waves were small to medium size. We got to the beach around 10 in the morning. We built a little citadel with an E-Z up, beach umbrellas, beach chairs and surfboards lol, it was pretty neat. After we were done setting our stuff up, we decided to catch some waves. As we were waiting for the waves to form, Mother Nature decided to bless us with some dolphins. The dolphins were just a few feet away from where we were waiting for the waves. It was a very beautiful scene!! I caught a few waves, the feeling I get from riding waves is such an amazing feeling is almost indescribable. We surfed for a few hours until the lifeguards decided to black ball the beach. This means that surfers are not allowed to surf (unless you have a soft board) due to the amount of people in the water. Even though we only surf for a few hours, we decided to stay and just relax at the beach. After a while we went body surfing and boogie boarding (which is not as fun as surfing, but still fun). On my way back home I stopped at my friend's house. He lives in Anaheim, CA this is where Disneyland is also located. I was able to see the fireworks show from his house, it was really cool (not as cool as being at the park, but still cool). I was so tired that night that I just got home and crashed on my bed. Today (actually, more like yesterday), I hung out with my family. My aunt and two cousins came to visit from Nevada so I got to spend some time with them. When they left, I went to hang out with my friends. We went to get Dippin' Dots and some Maggie Moos and then we played some ping pong. It was a pretty fun weekend! I hope you had a fun weekend as well!!

I was going to post some pics and edit the blog in a cool way so that this blog wouldn't be so plain, but I wrote more than what I expected and now I'm really tired lol...

If you're reading this (after reading all that is above)...thanks for taking the time!! My blogs aren't usually this long.

A Broken Promise...

I broke my promise. I had promised myself that Battlefield: Bad Company was going to be the last game I bought for a while. Well, let's just say that I couldn't keep my promise. I discovered a pretty cool feature of GameSpot about a few minutes ago: SportsGamer. If there is one genre that I really enjoy is sports game. It may be because sports have been such a big part of my life since I was a youngster. In hs I ran cross country, played soccer, and ran track (Iron Man 05!!). I love all kinds of sports as well. I wish I had more time so I could be involved in sports at the collegiate level. Anyways, I went ahead and pre-ordered NCAA Football 09. The game looks like is going to be one of the best NCAA Football games in the franchise history. I'm definitely looking forward to the online Dynasty Mode! It should be pretty fun. There are so many features that would probably take me hours to list...so if you're into the sport genre, I recommend you check it out. It's going to be a great game!!

Here are some screenshots from GameSpot SportsGamer:

Enjoy!!

Curious Jon...

I'm up way too early for a summer day but that's ok. I'll be going to the gym pretty soon. I had stopped going because I got lazy. I'm starting to go on a regular basis again. I love working out and being healthy! It's just that sometimes is hard to find that motivation to go to the gym. Being healthy can get hard when you're constantly on the road as well. Well, I was surfing the web last night when I came across a DS game that may help (or not) to my lack of motivation to work out and be healthy. The game is called My Weight Loss Coach. It is a game design to help you stay on track with losing weight. I don't really need to lose weight, but I could certainly tone up and balance by BMI a bit better. This is a summary of the game from the Nintendo website: My Weight Loss Coach DS is a game for every adult, male and female who considers reaching and maintaining their target weight as a challenge. A program that fits your own objectives and respects your daily life constraints, My Weight Loss Coach supports you and tracks your progress and achievements by improving your energy balance. Developed in conjunction with a nutritionist, it helps you take control of your weight efficiently and feel better. Via an exclusive pedometer (included free with the game), you will be able to measure your real physical activity level and balance it following the advice of a fitness coach. Your motivation will increase with coaching sessions, daily challenges, mini-games and quizzes, play for only 10 to 15 minutes per day and you will feel the difference.

Game Game

It sounds like it could work right? Well, I'm really curious to see if it really works. I'm inclined to go ahead and invest in a Nintendo DS and this game. I also want to get My Word Coach and My French Coach.

Game Game

I think it would be really cool to improve my overall health by combining two of my favorite activities: working out (plus a balance diet) and gaming. I also feel it would be really cool to improve my vocabulary (which I really need to improve) and to brush up on my third language. I've been thinking about getting a portable system for quite some time now. I was initially thinking about getting a PSP, but I'm inclining toward the DS as of right now. I'll see what I end up deciding on getting. What do you think? I just find this type of games very interesting.

Make Sure Is On...

I'm very upset with myself right now. Why? Well, I've been playing DBZ: Burst Limit for quite some time since I got it. I really like the game. I really enjoy the game. I had clear all the sagas on normal difficulty with a Z grade (the highest grade you can get when you clear a saga). I was half way done clearing the sagas (with a Z grade as well) on Very Hard. I decided to try the Trial Mode (you have to defeat 100 fighters in a row without dying) and I got to 70 fights in a row before I died. I was pretty much done with 70% of the game. I have all but two offline achievements (the other achievements are obtained by playing online). I decided it was time to give my eyes a rest. I should have known better! I should have been more careful! The Auto Save option was turned off!! I didn't bother to look for it, so every time I clear a saga my progress wasn't being saved! I did notice the absence of the Auto Save feature, but I didn't really make much of it (that's entirely my fault). I was done with 70% of the game and I turned it off without saving it. I went ahead and decided to play again. To my surprise: I had to start all over again because there was no saved data!! 70% of the game lost! All those hours of fighting gone who knows where! I went to the options menu and to my disgrace I noticed that the Auto Save feature was off! It was way too late for me to do anything! All I can do now is to start all over again...oh man! I was almost done with the whole game!! I'm stupid!! Next time you play, please make sure the Auto Save feature is on!!

Random...

Ok, so lately I've been thinking about a lot of things. One thing that comes to my mind is why did I leave gaming and why did I come back? I was talking to an old friend from hs who I usually don't talk to. I remembered that when we were going to hs together, we would take trips to the arcade, we would get together and have PS2/Xbox parties (this was when the Xbox had just come out). We even had tournaments at either the arcade or his house. It was fun. As the years started to go by, I stopped going to the arcade and to the PS2/Xbox parties. I stopped being an active gamer. I didn't lose my interest on gaming completely, but I started to do other things. It wasn't until a few months back when I decided to get back into gaming. It all started when I visited my friend Matt. He had just recently purchased an X360 at the time. When we didn't have plans we would just go to his apartment and play video games. It was tons of fun and I had said to myself that I needed to get one of my own. I thought about it for a couple of months, until I finally found a really good reason to get one. I went ahead and got my own X360. At first, the really good reason made a lot of sense. As the time has gone by, I realized that I was wrong on reasoning the way I did. Nonetheless, it has been fun to get back into gaming. I will probably game (with as much moderation as I can, which can be sometimes hard lol) for the rest of my life. I look forward to playing video games with my kids some day in the far future. It's fun to be part of a community like Gamespot. Its crazy the way the human mind can reason but sometimes the end results are better than what you expected. That's how things work sometimes...I really enjoy gaming again. Even though my reasoning was wrong at the beginning, I've been able to find an escape from reality. After a long day of stress from work or school, it is fun to turn on the console and relieve that stress away. It's fun to pretend to be part of the "B" Company, to respond to your Call of Duty, to be one of the Rainbow Six, to fight as Goku, to kill Locust...gaming is just tons of fun! And this was just a random thought...
