@Keithy211 Actually, I am not even sure if Fallout 3's story is really better.

It's more eventful sure, but also more linear with less choices. Not to mention that it mostly features the factions which starred in previous Fallouts already (Enclave, BoS, Supermutants).

@Gallowhand @TerminalError Yes they are. But, sometimes I felt like they were focusing soo much on making the world full of - individually - interesting places, that they have forgotten to make sure that the world as a whole will work as a coherent and believable environment.

Some people call Fallout 3's world theme-parky because of that. And there's some truth behind it IMO (there's city of children, city built around atomic bomb, lonely high tower, settlement with living trees, mini town of cannibals, city where two "superheroes" fight against each other,... none of which are neither very realistic nor very well connected to the rest of the wasteland).

What I want to say I guess is... that I like that Bethesda wants to be creative, but I would really appreciate if they could implement their creative ideas in a manner that would make the wasteland look more like one organic part of the world (wasteland) rather than collection of interesting places.

@Saidrex @johnners2981 New Vegas OTOH had more and more interesting factions (plus reputation system which made the relationships between them more dynamic), more varying choices and consequences, more complex and fleshed out characters (with more dialogues), was more in line with previous Fallouts and established lore, most of settlements were much more practical / logical and believable (no Little Lamplight nonsense) and the morality wasn't so black and white that often. Hardcore mode was a nice touch too for some.

Not saying that Fallout 3 was bad / worse. Just offering some counterpoints which some of Fallout fans tend to take into account when comparing the two.

@greek5 People will read the news where they are either posted first or they are posted in the best quality whether it is Gamespot or some purely e-sport (LoL) oriented website.

This is a good article and apparently among the first ones bringing this information. No point in waiting until some other, purely e-sport oriented website reiterates it.

And if you don't want to read it then simply don't read it. Problem solved.

@FKlepackiFTW As for how it can be inspirational?

It's a classic story of people setting themselves goals (winning something, being best at something), training really hard to achieve them and eventually achieving them.

If that's not inspirational I don't know what else is. In e-sports, it's even more about the willpower to train hard and get better than in many "real sports" since outside factors such as the size of body or predispositions for some activities do not play such a big in the outcome.

@FKlepackiFTW So, it's all a numbers' game for you?

Just wait until some of the e-sports will slowly start to overtake some of the less popular "real" sports or other activities (niche movie / music genres) in popularity.

Those things you listed (TV, music, books, sports,...), they had to start somewhere too. Should our predecessors have said "Oh that sport has a small following, let's ban it!"?

Most of things and activities have very modest beginnings and only later turn into something greater.

@FKlepackiFTW But it does benefit the future of mankind! :P

Look, those players entertain a large group of people who like to watch that kind of thing. Since those people are entertained, they have a better mood, are nicer to each other, maybe more productive in their own jobs, some get inspired by the progamers' dedication and training ethics and carry that dedication over to their own lives and whatnot.

@jesus_knight Nah. The link to this article was quickly posted in LoL community (for example r leagueoflegends). LoL fans can come, read the article, maybe check out the rest of GS, and go back to their forums.

They won't even complain about everything else they don't care about, unlike you.

And since the LoL community is huge (a single LoL tournament can have 220 000+ online viewers which is about the same number as all of this year's streams of E3 on TwitchTV combined, and this year was super important), it's only logical that GS/CBSI is trying to get the attention of some of them.

It's a win - win situation. LoL fans will get more LoL coverage and GS/CBSI will get better traffic.

@Saketume A bit maybe... But she is also past the stage of some average "gurl gamer" IMO.

She is married to a Starcraft / Starcraft 2 progamer and caster Geoff "iNcontroL" Robinson (the guy in the video at 1:00) and she worked / s as some kind of manager at Evil Geniuses' training house. She also worked as a host at several e-sport events (interviewing players, announcing matches,...), so she mostly knows her stuff.
