I really hate continuing this thread but i just wanted to say its quite easy to build a pc for that much that can smoke a PS3 graphically.I did it with name brand good performing products. If i wanted to go cheap as possible i could actually build one for cheaper than 300 that can smoke the PS3.Only 3 things you need to worry about with a pc focused purely on gaming.CPU, GPU and Ram.But don't mind me........

And again look at the video I have linked of a tech demo of the GPU.And that was way back in 2006 so surely they've made improvements to the hardware since then. And the tech demo is much more impressive than the trailer that you claim can't be realtime.
Here's the video link.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV6rORIUDAg
Why isnt it?Nintendo hasn't had experience with hardware like this ever before but Capcom has.And not to mention when the Gamecube was out what was the best looking game?Rogue Squadron which was not from Nintendo.Only with SMG has nintendo ever had the best looking game on their system. And since the actual press release said it was running on the engine being used for the game is above your speculation of it being CG.And how you can even think it won't look like that when the game releases just boggles my mind.BTW, "nintendo doesn't have experience with the tech they're using on their own console" doesn't work as a valid argument. and since i'm here, might i add that the 3D in the resident evil trailer wasn't really working properly for me, to the point i just turned the 3D off and watched it the old way, while all other games worked fine (with the exception of kingdom hearts, but i think that's because the kit might have been broken...)

@sekeru - i played the freaking 3DS, and it felt between the PSP and the PS2. they won't be able to run, say, shadow of the colossus-like graphics on it, no way. @sepe - i know it's possible. i'm just saying what i saw was definitely CGI, and the gameplay didn't look like GC games. hell, kid icarus is from nintendo and it wasn't looking like a gamecube game.BrunoBRSWhat does playing a couple early games have to do with the capabilities of a system?Did you know that most if not all of those tech demos were made up over a couple of months time with one alpha kit for multiple developers? And they never had access to it most of the time so they needed to port it over from the hardware they did have.So how in the world can that indicate what the system is capable of? i find eye comparisons to be much more accurate than speculation over the hardware. and if they're all "early alpha and therefore couldn't possibly look as good as they should", then why would resident evil look like that? also, if i remember correctly, ubisoft claimed last year they were already working/messing around with the new DS. as for sakurai, i remember that brawl was considered one of the best looking wii games when it was released. but if you need another example, look at the OoT remake/TP comparison. I find it highly unlikely Ubisoft had dev kits that far in advance when some devs from large studios are saying they have only had dev kits for a few months. And brawl may have looked great from good art direction but from a technical standpoint it was an extrememly simple game.Oh yeah using a early remake of a N64 game really shows the capabilities of a system.Kinda like how the Perfect Dark remake was for the 360 right?
Has better shading than the Xbox. But lower pollycount than Ps2, GC and Xbox.[QUOTE="loco145"]
[QUOTE="Teufelhuhn"] More like last gen shading with closer-to-this-gen memory amountsTeufelhuhn
Not at all. The Xbox had fully programmable shaders, this doesn't. All of the shading in that video is just basic per-pixel diffuse and specular, nothing fancy at all.
Yeah exactly nothing to amazing.Though to be honest to see this on a nintendo handheld makes me very very happy.
[QUOTE="Sepewrath"]Yeah Bruno it wasn't actual gameplay, but in engine means it can render visuals close to that. Your not going to see it in all its glory on demo's, but remember the PS2 did SoTC with tech from the 90's as well. I'm doubt it would be difficult to do that with tech from 2006. Like I said, everybody called bull on the KZ2 trailer and everybody was wrong, so I'm not going to call bull if they say its in engine. Especially since its only slightly above the gamecube and like I said and you agreed, its definitely doable. BrunoBRSit's just that i find it so weird that capcom's figured out how to render those things before everyone else, including nintendo :P Well do remember Nintendo's devs haven't had experience with hardware that could produce shader effects like the 3DS.But companies like Capcom have had much practice at it with the PS3 and 360.Not to mention Masahiro Sakurai games have never been the pinnacle of a system as far as graphics were concerned.

[QUOTE="Sekeru"][QUOTE="BrunoBRS"]it's just a CGI. you can have those graphics on a DS if you want. sure, it'll use a lot of space, but it's still CGI, and not gameplay.BrunoBRSLook at the video.....its no where near that good looking. The lighting and the normal maps for 3 characters is the only impressive thing in the entire trailer. The pixelated shadows and blurry textures shows that this is completely in-engine on the 3DS. it's not because it isn't resident evil 5 that it's gameplay. the 3DS is weaker than the gamecube, that scene looks better than RE4. How is the 3DS weaker than the Gamecube? We have no clue about the specs other than its the pica 200 GPU and could mean a ton of things. Look at this video of what the GPU could do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV6rORIUDAgAnd that was back when the GPU first came out in 2006.Surely they have made advancement with it since then not to mention there are better manufacturing processes available.I dont understand why the RE trailer couldn't be real time.It truly isnt that impressive.
