I have to agree with the video, my first console was Atari 2600, even though the NES was already out. But any time I had the opportunity to get a new console or game, it was always a marvel, and inspired me to look forward to the coming years.
I've owned all the North American consoles and handhelds since Atari 2600, with the only exception being the Xbox One. When I look at my remaining game collection now, I see one PS4 game, and 3 PC games that I actually still play. I still have digital rights to many more, but those 4 games are the only ones that stand the test of time for me.
It's not that there are only that many good games in the world, but I've come to a time in my life where I can only accept my absolute favourites to fill that limited free time I have. Even when I have more time, I rarely find myself interested in the new games out there, despite spending most of my online browsing time, researching new games.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to preference, and Danny is right, we all have such unique views on things, that it's easy to feel left out when others like something that we don't.
I'm not defending Destiny, or any other game. It's just that some people will genuinely like it, and some people will genuinely not. I honestly haven't played it, but I just don't think I'll end up liking it.
If I recall correctly, Kinect was so hardwired in to the system that there was no way they could change it. Now, apparently it just doesn't require being used.
I actually really enjoyed a couple of the Cabela's games, my main problem with it was that it was very short, and any of the main campaign modes were never co-op. If this open world game is done well and has co-op campaign, I'm in.
I imagine it would be like hunting in Red Dead Redemption, except it would be only that.
@Grenadeh I didn't think this was going to get hostile, but if that's how you feel then fine.
I don't really consider myself a gamer much these days, since I only buy games that have infinite replay value. Such as Total War, Killing Floor, and NHL, etc. I no longer buy any games without co-op campaign / season / gameplay.
I don't play games with that once you've played the campaign, it's all the same on the second play.
So yes, my game collection is incredibly small. But of the few single player story type games I have bought on Steam in the past, I no longer need access to them.
@chupacalupa42 I'm not sure you read my first post correctly. There is no way they can offer free trading cards that you can sell for money, yet not be able to give you $2 in your Steam wallet for a game that still sells for like $20. Besides, I'd rather just trade my games to other people.
