It can be fast or slow. But most people play it on fast. I bought that game when it came out and haven't regretted it. I still play it to this day. If it's selling for 10 bucks then its a steal!

I have to agree with the post above me. You are going to need an entirely new system to run any games that have come out in the last year or so. You'll definitely need a duel core processor and 2 gigs of ram (Vista needs at least that much to run games, damn vista!). If you do have an integrated video card in your system, its time to chuck it and get a 7600 or higher. Make sure you have a big enough hard drive, these days games are coming out 10+ gigs! Visit NCIX.COM for some good prices on towers.

Don't neglect your sound system either. Having a good sound card and sub-woofer makes a huge difference in the sound of explosions and other effects.

Goodluck!

In past patches with Total War games, you are able to continue your campaign after you install it. But it is a huge file so watch your battles for any glitches, taring or frame-rate issues.

The Total Was series is my fav. I am playing Medieval 2 Total War right now and it kicks so much a**. The ability to go from turn-based to real-time is great.

No you dont need a 6 series card. I also had a fx5600 and it ran just fine on my athlon 1.8 with 512mb ram
