Whichever suits you more (games library, features etc).

I wouldn't worry about the aspect ratio too much, as the stretched image won't be all too bad, and mine displays it at 16:9, and I can stretch to 16:10 if I want.

Blu-Ray should look superior, but I don;t have experience with that monitor.

I like Xbox 360 library better than PS3, but I am not sure if PS3 will make a comeback beating Xbox 360. For example, I would hate if the new Gran Turismo is better than Forza 3. I like to watch a movie, but I know that blu ray will have 3 years left before samsung introduces a HD movie in hard drive.

This is what I don't get... So you are telling me that if the PS3 sold more systems than the 360 you would buy it instead? Why does that even matter, I could care less how much people bought one system or the other. All that matters to me are the games, and to be honest with you the PS3 has a pretty solid lineup this year. And, I know on the 360 you have to buy T.V episodes (if you are into that), but all I do is use the Internet browser and go on Hulu. It's a win win!

Huh? You must be smoking something from your avatar.

lol you helping kill the video game industry, no cutting edge games anymore pushing the boundries of technology because everyone keeps buying games on consoles instead of pc. Dude on quake 4 with the map editor if i had the dedication and and looked up info for knownledge of the editor i could make a map that graphically blows away any ps3/360 title no bs. While on ps3/360 you gotta pay the dev's to make maps lol. your choice, but pc gaming will always be the best, you'd be better off picking up a video card for ur pc if you have pci express alot and some games . http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz/cpuz_151_setup.exe Download that^^ save to desktop click cpu-z icon when program opens up click motherboard tab and see if you have pci express x8 or x16. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150361 XFX GX260XADJF GeForce GTX 260 Core Edition Core 216 896MB Free Call of Duty: World at War 180$ AWESOME DEAL

Yeah, but my PC is 10 years old and I don't have PCI express. I've done a research and conclude that it's almost the same price for a budget $500 pc with blu ray option. That is without the cost for OS, antivirus, keyboard, controller and other necessary options. I'd rather spend $500 and plug in than get so complicated with hardwares and softwares. If I have $2,000 to spend, I would by HP Firebird or Blackbird.

If you are worried about resolution issues I would definitely go with the 360... I have an old hd 1080i tv and the ps3 will play half of my games on 480 p... I can play everything on 1080i on that tv with 360. Second, I also have a 360 vga cable for pc screen as well, and it works fine but if you have an hdmi 360 (and pc screen) that would be the best option.

-Traveller-

Does your tv support 720p? That'll be why it defaults to 480p. Some older PS3 games cannot play in 1080i. However his monitor won't have a problem.

Indeed, my resolution is 1920x1200. Like you said, I'm expecting to see black bars on top and bottom of the screen to view 1:1 mapping. I don't mind about that.

If you wanted to save some money there are 40gb refurbs for $280 w/warranty on the bay.

Does that include sticky stains or something? Anyway, I prefer to buy a brand new from a department store since I'll return the product if it has faulty.

MY PC is 10 years old and I am not going to shell out $1,000 to buy a new computer for watching blu ray and playing a game on same time.

I have decided to buy a brand new PS3 for my 26" LCD Samsung T260 monitor. I plan to buy one tomorrow (Friday, May 1st), but I don't know which one is the best to buy. 160gb or 80 gb. I am a movie buff, so I more likely to watch blu ray movies a bit more than playing a game. I am not a freak who plays the game 24/7. I only like fighting game, sports and first person shooting. RE5 may be ok for me.

The 360 DOES support 16:10 widescreen, it just adds small black bars to the top and bottom of your screen. If I were you, I would definitely go for the 360 not only because of certain exclusives, but because of it's superior controller (IMO). Basically, get the console with the controller that feels better for you.

imprezawrx500
If that is true I would go for the ps3, it looks awesome on my 22" lg monitor which is 16:10 with no black bars. The 360 controller is not better, it has the worst dpad made recently, madcats makes a dpad 1000x better and the sony one is close to perfect, the rest of the controllers are the same, x360 only has better triggers and the rest is opinion. ps3 has the better exclusives and x360 has the slightly better looking multiplat which is so small you have to really put them side by side to see the differences.

I'm still a noob, what is a multiplat?

Anyone knows a reliable news for PS3 deal coming this month? Like a new bundle deal with RE5 for example. I have heard some rumors about a new slim PS3 coming out this year, but it seems like a false rumor.
