Ok, how much money would it cost for a PC that runs BETTER than PS3 and a blu ray driver? Maybe I am being more slow down to think about saving more money in next few weeks. I am a big fan of throwing two birds with one stone, ya know...

[QUOTE="Shin_Akuma01"][QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"]You can build yourself a nice PC with $500.00; there's really good free anti-virus software out there as well, and I assume you have a keyboard and mouse considering your on your old desktop, so what's your next excuse?

-Traveller-

Alright, can you show me the spec for your rig and the $500 budget spec?

If you went PC, you could go with a

AMD Phenom X3 710 - $120

4gb G. Skill - $45

Corsair 450VX - $75

Sapphire 4770 - $110

Gigabyte UD3 - $75

WD 160GB - $60

Xclio case - $50

LG 22x DVD - $25

Total - $555, give or take

After rebates - $515

That'll run pretty much everything you can throw at it.

That's if you build it though.

Hm, that's a bit better but you still use Athlon. Why would you think AMD is really good for gaming and movies over the mighty Pentium? Also, I notice you don't include Blu Ray drive, which PS3 has this option. Adding Blu Ray drive will cost additional $100.

I say go with the PS3. Big selling point for mewifi. My ps360 are located inmy room and my computer and routerare locatednext to the kitchen. I wasnt to keen on running an ethernet cable from the room to the kitchen. Also I like how the controllers are rechargeable thru the usb ports on the ps3. I hate how after I purchased the 360 that I realized i needed to purchase rechargeble batteries for the remotes or buy the rechargeable battery packs. And as for online services, I like how psn is free. Been very reliable for me and hardly any lag. Live is waayyy better but thats 50 bucks for 13 monthsor about 4 bucks a month. But i'd rather drop an additional 10 bucks and get a game. Both look great on my Acer H213H monitor thru HDMI on 1920x1080 resolution.

ahhaahahah23234
Yeah, I am more likely 95% to buy PS3 tomorrow morning.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883114066 eMachines ET1161-05 Athlon LE-1620(2.4GHz) 2GB DDR2 160GB NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE Windows Vista Home Basic 291$ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130339 GeForce 9800 GTX toss that in pc 130$ COMES WITH 10$ mail in rebate so let's see here 421$ complete rig ahahahah

Athlon? That's a piece of garbage. I bet it looks clumpsy when I play the game. What about blu ray drive? I don't see the option. Also, I have to pay a software to watch a blu ray movie, that will add up.

[QUOTE="Shin_Akuma01"]Yeah, but my PC is 10 years old and I don't have PCI express. I've done a research and conclude that it's almost the same price for a budget $500 pc with blu ray option. That is without the cost for OS, antivirus, keyboard, controller and other necessary options. I'd rather spend $500 and plug in than get so complicated with hardwares and softwares. If I have $2,000 to spend, I would by HP Firebird or Blackbird.Stevo_the_gamer

Buy or upgrade an existing PC.

pcgamingowfsds
Wow all the hermits came into this thread at once. Funny thing is I was a hermit until last year when i bought my ps3. Getting a 50-60hour a week job developing websites and doing tech support on a pc all day, beleive me I didn't feel like playing games on pc after work anymore. PS3 was the best thing going, the most open console, supports user made mods and kb/mouse in ut3, uses laptop hard-drives, bluetooth headsets or usb, can use pc web cams or controllers, has built in wifi, free online play, dedicated servers, runs linux distros, has folding at home news network globe, home, internet browser with flash support and native You -tube app, blue-ray, bluy ray games, video store, game downloads, photo, pic movies, use of external hds, letting you move files on to the hard-drive. All in the box. I love my ps3, and it was the best console purchase i have ever made. It is also getting a ton of new games. And buying ps3 exclusives doens't hurt pc. Any dedicated pc gamer should not like ms for shutting down devs and forcing it's crappy games for windows live garbage. PS3 is a pc users dream for a console.

LOL you make no sense, killzone2 on you can only use controller i can use controller or keyboard and mouse for crysis warhead and play on my hdtv. hell i lay down in my bed and play crysis using 360 controller. not to mention if i want to change games i dont have to get up take out the disk from my pc and put it another just to play another game lol i have my xbox360's analog set as my desktops mouse cursor, just exit game click icon on desktop launch another game, no disk swaping. pc wins always will, no point in owning a console in reality.

Care to post the spec for your rig and total price? I bet it's around $1,000.

Care to give me a spec on that? You may have a better idea than those people at tomshardware.com forum.

Yeah , you should definatley get the ps3. I am 30 years, old have found almost no kids, and if there are they are real mature unlike xbox. The psn cards are for downloadable games. There are tons of creative non-disc release games for sale from $5-$10 and even blue-ray sized games for download like burnout paradise, WARHAWK(which is awesome, 32 player battlefield 2 like game with customizable planes, tanks, jetpaks etc..on dedicated servers, ), Socom, MAg is coming 256 players, God of war 3, Final Fantasy 13 the non port, final fantasy 13 vs. Uncharted, Uncharted 2, MGS4, Ratchet and Clank, Ico, Twisted metal, Wipeout hd, White knight chronicles, Disgaea 3, Heavenly sword, Resistance 2, Reistiance, Heavy Rain, Killzone. Sony has over 20+ 1st party developers making the exclusive games that will never go to 360. Microsoft only has 2 first party devs, as they killed off their devs to buy dlc. Would you rather have games that push the console on every release or mediorcre halo using a last gen engine or middleware like unreal 3. All 1st party sony games use their own game enigines built for the games, with dedicated servers. compared to the mostly peer to peer on 360 with almost all games using unreal engine. I came from a pc background last gen to the ps3 this gen, its really the way to go. And 1920x1200 16:10 works great on my monitor. I use hdmi, but you can use hdmi-dvi adapter if you don't have the hdmi connetor.world69star69
What HDMI to HDMI cable should I look forward to get? I know that MONSTER HDMI cable is a ripoff. I might go to Fry's Electronics store to pick up HDMi ($12 for 6 feet) and PS3. I still don't know the quality in that HDMI at Fry's, but I would have to assume it works the same.

[QUOTE="world69star69"][QUOTE="Shin_Akuma01"]I am going to use a video game console for my PC LCD monitor, Samsung T260. I still can't decide which one to buy because it depends on the quality for my monitor. The problem I see with my monitor is that it has 16:10 aspect ratio. I have heard a rumor about Xbox 360 updates to support 16:10, but it hasn't confirmed yet. For Playstation 3, I've heard nothing about it supports for 16:10 aspect ratio. I read a review from last year that blu ray in PS3 looks like a standard dvd on T260. I would hate to play in a stretched picture quality because it doesn't feel right. I have a feeling that next year will be a new video game console system, so should I wait for one more year insteads?

I use both a 24" hdmi gateway 16:10 computer monitor and a sony bravia for my ps3(use the bravia when the girl isn't home) and the montior fills the whole screen when overscan is enabled. Without overscan it has maybe a 1/4 at the top and and a 1/4 inch across the bottom, not noticable at all. And when in overscan mode, it looks fantastic not stretched. The ps2 on my monitor on the other hand, has interlacing lines when in fast movement, and large black bars on the left and right about 5 inches each...wish my monitor played the ps2 like my brivia. Anyway the ps3 is the way to go. The games out now, the future releases for this year and next, the console features the non-proprietary hardware, the build quality... PS3 is the way to go!

Thanks, man. That will increase my interest toward PS3 to 92%. :D
