you guys with x41, do you have it on dolby or bypass. I never mess with it but i try it on bypass the other day and it sound better to me for some reason.

I dont have the manual but i thoughtbypass is a option for addittional headphone right?

kenchen23

If your turn on the bypass, you are going to hear the raw stereo signal. The sound will be more "pushed up" against your ears like a standard headset. Turning the bypass off will put you back into 7.1 mode (as long as your connected with the digital optical cable) and the sound will be "pushed out" and sounds will be more accurate to the true position. Keep the bypass off, and get used to the surround sound. If you coming from a stereo headset, it can take a little to get used to but is truly awesome.

Do any of you use the Turtle Beach X41 headset and do you have a problem with the mic? We bought my son these for christmas and whenever he talks there is a buzzing coming from the headset. Only his friends can hear this noise! The game audio works absolutely fine, much better than my X1's but thats a different matter!

Thanks

sjaisie
You need to contact support@turtlebeach.com The problem you are experiencing (and the other guy with the mic problem) is due to the chat wire. Turtle Beach will send you a new one free of charge (they did for me) and problem solved. 10/10!

Can you use these if you're x-box is connected via HDMI?

Hypenotik
Yes, you can: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FptCB_3DOz4 Or just get the HD adapter cable/audio cable adapter: http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Cable-Adaptor-Microsoft-xBox-360/dp/B002P35JMO/ref=pd_sim_vg_3

Great Video! I wish I had seen that when before setting mine up!

[QUOTE="Da_lil_PimP"][QUOTE="DJ_Magneto"]I see people talking about this headset all the time. I looked it up and I see the "receiver" that you hook the optical cable to for game audio. But how do you get the mic to work? Do you plug a cable from the headset input in the controller to the "receiver" for the headset? Or does that receiver sync wirelessly to the Xbox directly? DJ_Magneto
There are 3 cable. A USB which you plug from the receiver to you Xbox, another cable that goes from the receiver to the optical cable, and the last one goes into the headset and the other end plugs into your controller.

I thought it was wireless from the headset to the reciever. But you also need to be wired from the reciever to your controller for headset microphone capabilities. So you're still pretty wired up?

You only need the controller cable connected from the headset to the controller when using the microphone feature. Xboxs microphone capabilities run through the controller, which makes itnecessary. If your not chatting, you can leave it off. But the wire is good because it has a control on it which lets you control the chat volume, and mute the microphone, so its helpful.

[QUOTE="CleanNJerk"]I am in the market for a headset. So I was wondering if these work with the PS3 as well?gillri

I have a PS3 as well as a 360

yes they do work with a PS3 but the mic doesnt, I got mine for £119 (183$) which was a very good deal

much more comfortable than the X4's and I plug the USB into my TV because obviously that is always on why I play games

BTW doesn anyone think that thy arent as loud as the X4's?

-You can plug the X41 into the Xbox USB and even if the Xbox isnt on, the transmitter will still be powered.

-I had the X4s, and mine are the same volume, if yours are not maybe contact TB support? They've always been great.

-I play the majority of my games on Xbox Live, but on my PS3 I never use PSN so I never needed the mic. I am wondering myself tho, so i'm going to try giving TB a call or email and see what they have for using the mic on PS3, and ill let you guys know as soon as I find something out!

Yes, if you have the amazing sound, you need the amazing picture right? I had the same question so I found this article on their knowledge base:

The single player theory is correct. Also, there are many people who arent able to purchase the game yet due to shipping delays. (lots of snowstorms in the east)

Just thought i'd throw up a little something on my new baby I picked up with my copy of AVP...the Turtlebeach X41wirelessheadset. This thing is freakin amazing! Its got Dolby 7.1 surround soundand its amazing...I felt like I was IN the game while playing the campaign on AVP. After giving it a run with Modern Warefare 2, I was totally dominating being able to hearwere footsteps and people were shooting from. The360 degreedirectionals are spot on!Other people said my voice was perfectly clear - evenmore clear than others in the game. I am totally sick of the crap Xbox headset and am so glad I gotmy Turtlebeaches. In the last year I had four Xbox headsets die on me! I can tell these Turtlebeaches are way more durable, so now I dont have to worry about going back to Best Buy every couple of months to get a new Xbox headset. I know the X41 is expensive but its totally worth every penny!

I'm about 45 mins into each single player campaign, and have 3-4 multiplayer matches under my belt. So refreshing...i've been burned out on MW2. Don't mind the mixed reviews you may hear (esp the newb that reviewed on this site) if your a AVP fan your gonna get plenty of enjoyment out of the title.
