@epic_poke8: Agreed. I thought that Fortnite made it stupid-simple on purpose. I figured it out in a minute or two with a pencil, paper, and just knowing the English alphabet, this afternoon... Then I came to Gamespot.com... /facepalm.
@mogan: I don't want to step on treechopper's toes, but with the 'traditional' broadcast television format, most every one watched the show at the same time, on the same night. Then, the next day (or afterwards at the bar :)) groups of friends and strangers would talk about the show and hypothesize what was going on. Everyone had one week to let their imaginations try to fill in the gaps before the next episode either corroborated or destroyed their ideas.
Rinse and repeat each week.
I think that having most everyone on the same schedule with the same episodic knowledge of what was going on helped build the hype.
That being said, I don't know that we have to go back to the traditional format, but I still will only watch one episode at a time of some shows that I want to 'process'. Unfortunately, none of my friends are ever on the same episodic schedule, so there's not as much conversation around the show, due to "No Spoilers!" from not being caught up or having binged the whole show.
Pure hypothesis speaking from personal experience.
@stickemup: At least their comment was posting their opinion regarding the article. Whether you like it or not doesn't matter in the least. Your post adds nothing to the conversation regarding the article. You're just gatekeeping.
