LOL at people saying that the old school RE games were scary. The only scary part i remember is when i first saw a crimson head in REmake.

The controls were very VERY dated and as a result the series started getting stale after RE2. Every sequal until RE4 was downright mediocre. Well I did enjoy code veronica and remake was great, but re3 and 0 put me to sleep every time.

The only negative about RE4 IMO is that it completely skipped the whole end of umbrella story and started with something completely different. The last boss was kind of lame as well. But it is easily one of the better games in the series. The atmosphere of being constantly hunted was great, the enemies were great (chainsaw, el gigante, etc..) and the controls were A LOT better (expecially with the wiimote).

I fully expect RE5 to also be great.

i'd like to go through the dungeons with the old school over the top view. give it a first person view for arrows (like in mgs) and make some kick a$$ gameplay/puzzles involving the wiimote.

and add time travel to present day, so that link can drive cars (like beastmaster 2 :P)

i bet the haters who say to just go outside also prefer to play guitar hero or rock band instead of real instruments.

how bout i get in my car and drive around town instead of playing gran turismo? how bout i go out and paintball instead of playing some generic fps with a headset?

Nintendo themselves stated that they were targeting the casual market with the Wii. :|

Well duh... don't treat me like I'm stupid. What, am I not supposed to buy a Wii? Am I not supposed to buy things I like? I fail to see your point. Yes Wii is aimed at the casual market, but it's annoying when I hear this from casual 360 gamers who think online shooters are the greates thing ever.

You just proved my point. You try to stereotype people by what console they own, when it's clear that Wii owners like myself can be much more knowledgeable than PS3/360 owners like the TC.

Where did I try to stereotype you? And where did i say that you weren't supposed to buy a Wii? Did i even say you were a casual player? No...i said that Nintendo said that they were targeting casuals with the Wii. Those are their words, not mine. If anything they're stereotyping you. You need to calm down...seriously. It's a console. I stated something Nintendo said and you get all amped up for no reason.

actually, nintendo said, they're targeting everyone. casual and hardcore. its one of the reasons they're so successful this gen

I have yet to see a single quote by Nintendo that stated that they were targeting Hardcore players. Do you have a link? If it's true then it's news to me because, as far as i know, they wanted more sales (because of GC's terrible sales) and therefore were targeting a more casual userbase.

um... i'm pretty sure they said "everyone". reggie himself said at e3 "everyone is a gamer"

now do you really think "everyone" = "everyone but hardcore"?

again, if being into online shooters makes your hardcore, what do you call someone who likes online shooters... AND platformers, rpgs, fighters, puzzle games, mini games, racers, and basically any game that he finds fun?

liking hd graphics and online shooters doesn't make for a "hardcore" gamer. it just makes for a videophile who likes online shooters.

what do you classify someone like me who likes online shooters AND wii games?

jet052006

Isnt there like only 1 online shooter for the Wii?

it could be quite possible that the shooters i like are on other consoles

As a hardcore PS360 gamer. Im huge into graphics, shooters and online multiplayer.. News that the Wii is selling so so well really scares me as Online shooter/hardcore type gamer..

--ProtoMan--

You're not what I'd call a "hardcore gamer". The "casual" gaming market has less soccer moms and five year olds than you might think and a whole mess of people like you; the kinda guys who wouldn't bother with something like Psychonauts, but love them some good GTA or Halo.

Sorry but if the only thing that does it for you is eye candy shooters with online trash talking/leaderboards, you'd probably be better off calling yourself casual. If you're an honest to goodness gamer, then broaden your horizons a bit; diversify your tastes. Nintendo's probably the best developer there is.

So freakin' true it's not even funny. Kids these days ignore Psychonauts and call SMG kiddy (no boobs and blood!), then claim they're "hardcore" for playing HALO 3. It's just gotten stupid to where these kids are too busy trying to be manly and macho to play artistic and niche games.

its so ironic that if you're into violent hd games and nothing else, you're considered hardcore. when in reality, these are the most narrow minded gamers out there today
