Where did you see this, because that was most certainly pre-rendered, it's just like those fake videos on the internet of crazy things trying to fool people, the motion and animation doesn't look right.

"In-game."

"Everything you saw in that trailer was on current PS4 hardware. Not high-end PS4."

"Yes" (in response to a question asking if it was running in real-time)

"In engine" is a very dangerous terminology that in essentially all cases mean's it's not representative of the way the game plays or how it will actually look. Mortal Kombat X's trailer was done in engine for example, and we all know the game doesn't play or look like this, it's a substantial step backwards from this.

In engine basically just means they made a CG video at the very top of the spectrum using the highest end configuration of engine running the game.

My mistake, they said in-game not in-engine. It was also confirmed to be running in real-time on current PS4 hardware.

With games like Uncharted 4 and Ratchet & Clank (by the very same devs as this) on the PS4, I dunno why people are screaming CG at this trailer. *shrugs*

Because they didn't show anything about it yet. Wasn't that a completely CG trailer?

Insomniac confirmed it was all in-engine.

We realized that having something on the GamePad and looking back and forth between the TV screen and the GamePad actually disrupts the gameplay, and the concentration that the game player may be experiencing. You have your car’s GPS system on your dash. If you had it down in your lap, you’re going to get into an accident!

Do you agree with Aonuma, System Wars? Incidentally, I actually liked the Gamepad's implementation in Twilight Princess HD for inventory managament. When it comes to games where the Gamepad plays a more prominent role though, like Star Fox for instance, I'm with Aonuma. In another Wii U title, Fatal Frame, I was actually looking forward to using the Gamepad like a camera. Thought it'd be more immersive and shit. But switching your attention between two different screens constantly is a gimmick that grows old quickly.

Doesn't bother me. It's never been a problem to avoid the "easy switch" in games whether it's The Last of Us, Super Mario 3D World, and now this.

RE VII: potential supernatural evil, 1st person, no weapons yet, was that a zombie at the end?, starting from complete scratch while borrowing from what.... Texas Chainsaw Masacre?

It's Resident Evil in name only. The series is dead to me except remasters and remakes.

There's an axe in the demo, and combat was already confirmed separately in an interview as well. They're not starting from scratch either as this is still a sequel to Resident Evil 6 - it's not a reboot. It's just not going to be an action game where you punch boulders as a roided out Chris Redfield. They're going back to their roots of survival horror like in the original Resident Evil and having you play someone more vulnerable. That doesn't mean there isn't going to be puzzle-solving and combat.

How so? I mean beyond the typical open world game compromises we see in every new closed platform-bound release.

GTAV doesnt count on new gen. Look at W3's performance for example. This seems to run better actually. Its lightyears ahead of Skyrim last gen.

A resolution bump for starters would do wonders for the game. Right now the game looks rather blurry in spots. Draw distance makes the world look empty as well, as seen in this screenshot:

Like I said before though, the art direction is great and I think it trumps these shortcomings. I also expect the NX version to fix these problems.

It looks like it's held back by the Wii U, but the art direction is excellent.

Resident Evil 7. Genuinely excited for the new direction the series is taking.
