I'm putting Rainbow Six Vegas on the shelf this weekend and doing Call of Duty 1. Its one I missed out on so I got the War Chest. That means if it goes too quick I have the expansion pack sitting in the wings and Call of Duty 2 to save for later.

I'll probably pad that with some of my arcade racers and maybe a little Lego Star Wars.

Bethesda + Star Trek = Tactical Assault = not great

Bethesda + Star Trek = Encounters = crap

Bethesda + Star Trek = Legacy = crap + no support

Bethesda + Star Trek = Unsupported Crap

I will never trust Bethsoft ever again after Star Trek Legacy. They mislead us with promises of content that they could not ultimately provide. They shipped a broken product that did not work without a patch on the first day.

They split the fan base and used both sides to promote the game and then blackballed the side that complained after release that the game was stripped down and basically broken.

Support was abandoned 2 months after the games release but the community was lied to about it for months being lead to believe things would be fixed like no keyboard mapping and MANY other bugs. The second and final patch that was released only fixed Microsoft achievements and none of the other issues. The patch caused a graphic bug so when you blow a nacelle (engine pod) off a ship it re-spawns. This bug was never fixed.

The complaints of customers were suppressed and the only complaint thread allowed grew to over 1200 posts.

Mod tools that were promised 2 or 3 months ago have never been released.

Yeah, Bethesda + Star Trek = don't buy untill you try and maybe not even then for me.

Thanks to thisisasignin for pointing me to this thread. I started my own because this one had fallen off the front page.

I see some people have been having this problem for a while but mine definitely just started the day before yesterday 8/1. I just figured it was a one time glitch so I fixed it and went about my merry way. It's very frustrating and seems to happen right away now.

his should probably be in the Site Enhancements & Feedback section.
Some games do list the minimum requirements others do not. I agree a more detail would be nice.

If you look on the right hand side of the summary page for games next to the ESRB rating is a link that says Game Details. If the requirements are listed that is where they will be.

Here is a link to the ones for Star Trek Legacy for example LINK

~edit
I would like to add that those minimum specs the link takes you to suck.
This is what should be there.

Here's a way to look at it and keep those boots handy. Come to think of it you might even need hip boots for this one

It's a performance not a craft.

Can you appreciate a guitarists work without hearing it preformed the same way you can a sculptors without seeing him shape it? Is the musicians work any less art? Of course that is a bit grandiose comparing gaming to music but the analogy is valid if you look at the game maker as the music writer and the game player as the musician playing the music.

Be Somebody (Or Be Somebody's Fool).
Fill out your profile to tell GameSpot users a little about yourself, and meet other like-minded game players from all around the world.

Well yesterday I came in and this was back above my blog so I went into my preferences and re-entered some about me info and it went away.

Today again my information is reset and "Be Somebody" is back so here we go again.
Pretty annoying.

I buy games in bursts.

I usually wait till something I really want comes out then make a Best Buy run.
I will pick up 2 or 3 other games I have been scoping out then. That's usually every couple of months so call it 1 a month. I try not to go to Best Buy more then once a month because it pretty much impossible for me to get out of there for less then 300 bucks. More if I need ink, discs or spend too much time in the movie section.

Good!
The cost of it is not what bothers me the most. I'm sure they were making forgeries and selling them for full price and not discounted bootlegs.

Its because of these kinds of **** heads I cant make a back up copy of my legally purchased video games. Thanks to them if I scratch one it costs me 10 dollars plus postage and I have to wait 3 or 4 weeks to get it replaced assuming the company even offers that service.

Like movies (and as dchan01 mentions) its a much bigger problem outside the USA.

I seriously doubt that if piracy went away here that pricing would be the slightest bit different. When they say the cost to consumers is X amount what they really mean is it costs the industry that much in profits. The big manufactures would love for you to believe that if piracy was stamped out tomorrow they would charge less in the USA for a game the next day but its simply not true. New games would cost exactly the same. Would they pass along the costs to the consumer if the market were flooded with bootlegs? Sure. Would they pass along the benefits of a reduction? No way.

Let me start by saying welcome to GameSpot. I see you just joined today.

I wouldn't worry about being a true . The fact that it bothers you that you "only" have 10 games shows that you are. 10 games is still a decent number. When I was your age (that I assume your under 16) I only had 2 or 3 games for my Atari cause they were expensive just like new games are now. I would swap with friends for a week or two. People sometimes forget that games cost $40 USD back then too and that was 1985 dollars which would probably work out to 100 today.

Do you think you would be better off with a PS3? LOL let me tell you something., if you had a PS3 you would only have 11 games. The ten you have now that will still play on it and the one that you bought with the console. PS3 games cost $60 USD! You can get 2 or 3 games for the PS2 for that much.

~whispers~ try to sell you folks on the fact the PS3 plays Blu Ray Movie discs too, those players are super expensive. They might fall for it.

I have about 60 games and some of those are for my old Genesis. Asome of them are old PC games that wont even run on Vista. I keep em on my list because I still have them.

Take everyone's advice and look for deals on games. Lots of people are unloading their games especially if they have had old PS2 games laying around without being played for a long time.
