If the little minimize arrows on the side of the bar (that are currently gray) worked like they are supposed to you would be able to shrink it down to just a tool bar sized strip.

~edit P.S. is the no space or space removal glitch when posting ever going to get fixed

Your trying to find out what kind of graphics the computer has?

Right click on the desk top
Click properties
Click settings
Click advanced

there should be a tab for the graphics card on the top.

Alternate method

Click start
All programs
Accessories
System tools
System information
Click the + next to components
Click display

NAME at the top should be the graphics card.

Wii is a no brainer. Those are going to be hard to find as we get close to your December holiday of choice.

PC games are always hit and miss at the stores and you need to shop around no matter what time of year it is unless your looking for Command and Conquer or World of Warcraft.

I think if you want an older console game you better get it while you can too. Yeah I don't think their going to run out of Gears of War or Guitar Hero but if your looking for Def Jam Icon or something for your PS2 you may find that stores only had one or two copy's and if there gone you will be SOL till after Christmas.

As far as items other than games it will be interesting to see what this years Tickle me Elmo will be.

Weird is not spelled "wierd". I don't know why people make this mistake so much.Evilmaster101

Because if its normally I before E except after C unless you like being weird.

Reviews are just the personal opinion of the writer and like it was said before if the person doesn't like that type of game you deduct points just by having them review it. Likewise you can basically deduct points if it's a movie based game cause its automatically assumed its going to be crap. You also have to consider that reviewers may also not have the time to play an entire game and often base some of their conclusions on other professional players input. They will of course deny this but if it takes 20 hours to finish a game you just got this morning and you have to have the review in by the end of the day what are you going to do? Answer is play it for 4 or 5 hours, talk to the guy that finished it and get your review in on time.

You need to read several reviews and ultimately make your own decision. Hopefully the review (good or bad) gives an accurate representation of the games content.

You shouldput an RE4 spoiler warning at the top.
I have not played it but it sounds like you give away the first freak out that sets the mood for the game. The other stuff didn't seem like that big of a deal so I doubt it will affect the game for me.

Back on topic.
I think it says a lot about your personality.
Games can be a very personal experience that involves you in a way that movies don't. It's commonly referred to as immersion. It's also emotional. If you care about the people portrayed in a game it makes for a much better game. If you hate this guy or that guy its going to be a lot more fun to pump 50 bullets into his knee or you might waste a brick of C4 taping it to his head just for a fun kill. Something can creep you out because you don't know if your going to see it or not and if so when. In a movie if you hear the creepy moaning guy or see a mutant in a flash of lightning you can pretty much expect it will be showing up within the next hour. In a game you might not see it until you have played the game for three more days or maybe RIGHT NOW BOO!! lol

A good game will create an emotional connection with tension and relief. A good action game (especially FPS) will dole it out in carefully choreographed portions to keep you off balance. A good RPG will help you flesh out a story ether by design or preferably one that is created along the way as you go. If a game can get you focused and comfortable they have you by the giblets, your wide open for the proper event to snap on fear, anger, confusion or whatever else the game maker is trying to get.

In your case you were (how shall I put this, jaded isn't right neither is spoiled) hardened by your movie experience as a small child so now you distance yourself when you view them. Your brain quickly reminds you before your scared that the movie is not real. In a good game that little switch is left off or at least not on as sensitive a circuit breaker for you.

Right now I'm playing Rainbow Six Vegas and it really gets me going. I often find myself freaking out when things go wrong and am scrambling to figure some things out to the point of panic. No big scares in this game but I forget that I'm not really going to get shot or it really doesn't matter if I send my buddy into someplace he probably will get shot. I feel involved and I don't think "well this isn't going well I'll just restart so I know what to do." It gets my adrenalin pumping and I can tell. When I'm playing other, weaker games I don't get that. I might be startled but then its just ok well back up duck do this do that ok on to the next thing or oh I died, crap, now I have to start from the beginning

As far as getting scared I have to set myself up for it by playing a scary game alone at night in the dark ect. ect. Many people can get this experience from a book or movie or even art like a sculpture or painting. Not me.

Sounds like you're a gamer buddy! Your just showing your stripes. 8)
Me too.

Freeware is just that. Totally free.
Most of the time it means that you may use the software for your own personal use with no obligations to compensate the maker in any way.

Shareware can be a full version of software and the maker asks you to be honest. Try the software for a period of time and if you like it then you are asked to pay for it and a method for you to do so is provided. In many cases the shareware version of a program will be restricted until you pay for activation. This can be in many forms. Most common is that some features are not functional. For instance, if you have a shareware version of say a music software it may be fully functional except you cant save your files. Or perhaps you can only save in one of the available formats. More often shareware limits you to a number of uses or a specific number of days, say month.

Hope that helps.

~edit: Oops, I forgot the most common thing in shareware and that is that the program will have a pop up that will come up every time you start the game or whatever and periodically while using it to remind you that it is shareware and you should pay for it.

I seriously doubt EB is going to give more then 1/2 what its worth even brand new.
Since it will be unopened if you sell it for less then retail (say $35 + shipping) you could easily sell it on Ebay or Amazon.

I took a quick look and the cheapest new one on Amazon is $37.96 + $3.99 shipping.

I'm gonna have to give the edge to Racing Games. Other stuff is still close though. I love R6 Vegas, Hitman and quasi-shooters like Tron2.0 and Jedi Outcast.

I really don't like RPG/MMORPG's and I gave them a fair shot.
I tried WOW and Oblivion and just got bored with the repetition.

Same thing for RTS.
I gave Empire at War, C&C Generals and Age of Mythology each several weeks because I know your not just going to hit the ground running with those types of games and still just could not get into them.
