You know I just read the GameSpot "First Look" and it has a slightly different take on
the details but says something quite similar.
I was under the impression that the game was played as some sort of crazed serial killer,
planning your murder, stalking your victims and killing them in the most violent way
possible for extra points or something to that effect. It seems I was seriously mistaken.

Now I'm really confused by this ban.
I guess we are just going to have to wait for the game to see what all the hoopla is about.

Some excerpts from the first page of the GS article.

"Doctor Pickman, convinced the project is close to a breakthrough, takes the project
underground and keeps on plugging away. Lam follows, and in a not entirely bright
move, offers to be a guinea pig. Recipe for disaster? You betcha. A few mishaps later,
and Daniel is dispatched to Dixmore Asylum, a mental institution for the criminally
insane. The good news is he evidently served quite capably as a guinea pig. The bad
is that he's a bit on the crazy side now"....

"Cue up a fateful night and an electric storm that knocks the power out at the asylum,
letting the inmates have the run of the place, and Daniel escapes with a friend named
Leo. Now unsure if his wife and kids were real or the products of his mind, Daniel
sets out to find out just what the heck happened to his mind, which is where you come in.
Your goal in the game is to try to uncover what happened to you and what is going on
with the Pickman Project"....

"Whereas the original game had you navigating a confined area filled with people
looking to murder you, Manhunt 2 has you traveling to new, exciting locations...
filled with people looking to murder you."

What and interesting discussion! Thanks to all the posters, I read every word.
I'm content to just read but I will make a few small comments.

I have to agree that if something deserves the strictest rating then so be it.
Banning it is just that and is censorship. If you know what's in it and It's
restricted to adult purchase the ability to go a step beyond that and outright
ban is absolute power and you know how that saying goes. Banning it because
it encourages you to commit violent, sadistic and illegal acts and gives you
nothing else to do just won't cut it. If the people were zombies or vampires
you had to kill this would be a non starter. Smacking around a prostitute or
stalking and slitting a pimp's throat is just fine. The fact that you take on the
role of someone that people actually fear in real life, have no control over and
could potentially be the victim of is why the panic button has been pushed.

My second point is that Rock Star had to know they were going to be under
the microscope with this one and never had any expectations of anything other
then an M rating if they were lucky in the USA. The AO rating must have been
planned for and we will have to wait and see what they do about that.
I'm also guessing that the ban was unexpected. Nobody plans for their product
to not be allowed to be sold.

P.S. Obviously I simply must buythe gamenow.

I think your comment about it being a threat is valid much the same as NC-17 is.
In the movie industry its their way of saying "If you wantyour movieto be seen don't earn this rating".
Likewise "if you want your game sold at Best Buy or EB games don't earn this rating"

So is it time to post the magic numbers now? LOL

All I know is my DVD's look fine on my big *** TV right now and I don't
plan on buying either of them for a good long while, not before winter 2008 maybe longer.
I'm guessing I will be using Vista before I'll be purchasing a Blu Ray or HD player.
Whichever one it is it will have to be backwards compatible.
It's WAY too early to be building a collection of movies for either HD or Blu Ray IMHO.
I'll keep building my DVD collection for the time being and be content to be
one of those people waiting on the sidelines mentioned in the article.

LMAO

You guys are brutal...

I think everyone is trying to say that half the fun is figuring out how to do it on your own.
Especially in a game like Hitman.

But....... if your really stuck and want help.

Gamespot has a guide with a full walkthrough.

I think that plenty of collections are padded and some people's lists are a total crock.
"Adjusting" your collection is nothing new here.
I admit that I dropped a couple of bad games from my list to get my connoisseur
badge back.
I also have WOW and the expansion on my list for the same reason although they
were gifts and I have no intention of opening the boxes let alone playing them.

I like to think most people have an honest representation of their stuff.
I don't find it that difficult to believe lots of people have 200 or more games and
that some have massive collections just not the numbers of people that say they
do on here.

It's been a long time since I have had a PC capable of running games.
A year ago I built a high end rig and bought a good Laptop that runs most stuff well.
I don't have that many games yet but it's not too difficult to see how I could easily
have WAY more in just a few years now that my interest has been rekindled.
I look at my 500+ DVD collection and it's not that hard to see it happening.

I think for every one person that honestly has the 500+ games on their list there is at
least one other person that is lying about it. Just my opinion.
If you see a persons collection crosses several generations and systems it's far more
likely to be ligit then one that says they have every single 360 game ever made.

I think the game your talking about is Outrun
It came back out twice and I have Outrun 2006 Coat 2 Coast for PC and it is almost exactly
the same as it was way back when.

And OT
Hell yeah I do!!
I break out my Genesis once or twice a month for a few days and play Maximum Carnage,
Road Rash, Mortal Kombat 1 LOL first cheat code I learned ABACABB Granada and others.
I wish I had more games for it. I confess to getting the little plug into the TV complete game
thing for Sonic so I don't have to go through the trouble of getting everything out to play it.

I'm going to throw in my agreement too.
I made this decision last year but I still don't think its too late.
I wanted to get the kids a gamming system and I did all the math andchose PS2.
Xbox 360
big hdd
extra controller
2 kids each pick one game
at least $600 dollars

We got.......
PS2
extra controller
each their own memory card for saves
let them each pick 10 games
all for 100+ bucks less.

When you get down to it 20 games is way better then 2 no matter how
great the 2 might be.
