Woohoo!

So I finally got my Windows XP disc. It's my rightful copy that the university has to give to me if I ask them for it, so I'm very happy about that. Now I have it for any future formats or reinstalls. I formatted my computer and it's running beautifully, so I plan on vblogging tomorrow and then some new content! A lot of updates to talk about, but you'll hear about them tomorrow.

See you online.

Gears of War Tourney

Anyone interested in signing up for the Gamespot GoW tourney tonight? I'm not particularly good at the game, but it should be fun. You need to be a Total Access subscriber to play, and you can only form a team by getting lucky and signing up in the same time slot together. PM or comment if you're interested.

Still waiting...

Hey all. Unfortunately I'm at the library studying anatomy in preparation for my first exam next week, but I thought I'd fill you in. I'm still searching for my windows XP disc. Until I find it, I can't format my hard drive. I'm sure, I could find some way of formatting without the boot disc, but then I'd be stuck with no OS and it would be kind of hard to use my capture card. If anyone has a legal solution to this problem, please let me know. If not, please wish me luck in finding my disc. As soon as I get that formatting done, I will have some new video content to post.

Update Soon

So I now have my laptop and I am free to roam the web once again. It has 2 gHz of memory and 2GB of RAM so it really moves for a laptop. I'd love to get a video blog up this week to show off my new digs and talk about med school, but I can't guarantee anything. I am planning on reformatting my desktop's hard drive so I can actually capture some 640x480 content without dropping a lot of frames, but I don't know when I'll get to that. I'm also going to have to get my capture card working again after that, so that's another challenge. Anyays, everyone who is lucky enough to get Bioshock tonight/tomorrow, enjoy it. I'll be sitting here with my anatomy books, sobbing softly...

troubles

You must excuse my long (and as of yet unfinished) delay in posting real content. My school and Hewlett Packard are apparently run by people with few management skills. Orientation started a week ago and we have still not received the laptops that we paid for. As such, I have had no internet access for the last week and a half and I don't know when I will get my computer. I am less than pleased with all of this, but I have much to study in the mean time. Hopefully I will be back soon. Peace.

The Big Move

Tomorrow is the big day. I'll finally be moving to Columbus and starting med school. Moving is always such a stressful event, and this is no different. I'll probably be extremely busy, so I don't know how much gaming I'll be doing in the coming months, but I'll definitely be rocking the Halo 3. Hopefully I'll get some new content up sometime soon, but don't expect anything fancier than a Metal Gear review. "I feel asleep!!" Classic.

UPDATE: Just to let you all know, they finally released an update for Alien Hominid on XBLA and you can get the last achievement (Mad Hatter). I've been waiting on that achievement for over 3 months!

See you online.

Marquette

Here are some pics and a video from my trip to Marquette, Michigan.

Metal Gear

Has anyone actually ever beaten Metal Gear for the NES (without the use of a FAQ)? I've spent about 6 hours just trying to find the last keycard. It would be a shame to give up and look at a FAQ now since I've struggled my way this far, but I am near the edge of my patience. Wish me luck.

UPDATE: So I finally gave in and looked at a FAQ. I probably spent about 8 hours on a wild goose chase due to some dialogue that was a relic of the MSX version of the game (see Wiki for differences between MSX and NES versions). Furthermore, the only way to finish the game was to get through a maze area; unfortunately, nowhere in the game are directions for that area provided. These revelations will definitely hurt the game's score when I review it.

Live Free or Die Hard

I just got back from seeing Live Free or Die Hard and it was awesome. I loved every unbelievable stunt and enjoyed the almost total lack of CG footage. Highly recommended and gets 3 out of 4 stars. Almost as good as the original Die Hard, and definitely better than the other two. Go see it.

No new content is likely until after I get to school and settled into my new place.
