[QUOTE="Sniping_Crowbar"]

Well I would expect them to make a better design considereing they had to shell out a ton of money for cutting corners it seems taht they dont give a **** The "darkside" over at Playstation 3 is really looking like an amazingly juicy hamburger right now.

Stevo_the_gamer

Where did they cut corners? How is the design not a better design over the original? Hell, even the PS3 Slim runs extremely hot.

It may run hot but Sony has had a good track record this Gen of their systems being reliable and not breaking all the time. Ive gone through 2 xbox 360's and i am on a replacement xbox at the moment. The Redesign looks nice but honestly i think the problem is taht they treid to make it smaller, jammed a CPU and GPU in a heasink that is super tiny looks worse than an Intel stock heatsink, i know for sure they use cheap thermal compound as i craked open my first xbox 360 to fix it, and they kept the same **** dvd drive, a 12x one for that matter, there are tray drives that won't scratch your discs you know. I hope this is all a bunch of poop and its jsut a small amount of people, but Microsoft has a bad track record.

From wha ive seen The heatsink is orse than an Intel stock cooler for a PC and they are trying to cram both a CPU and a GPU under that heatsink, that jsut spells disater for heating issues. Now so far what ive heard it snot Red ringing its jsut randomly shutting off on some people due to overheating, so it basically shutsdown before it actually damages a part but if it is happening pretty frequently then they need to fire someone over at design.

[QUOTE="RTUUMM"]its a M$ product, wat do you expect?treedoor

And yet both the original Xbox, and Zune are very reliable products.

I know i bought a used xbox for $130 dollars in 2003 and it still works today, extremely reliable console, never had any issues with it, this is why its so frustrating that the xbox 360 has hardware problems some of the worst that i can remember.

According to various reports? Yet they provide no evidence? I love hearsay. How does this even make news?

Stevo_the_gamer

well this is how the RROD's first tarted appearing word of mouth, posted on srticles then it eas full blown out confirmed, I am hoping its all BS and its just a small number of people, and or people tryin to troll but I honestly wouldn't out it oast microsfot to cut corners as they have done so in the past with the first design with Xbox 360, the support for Games for windows Live, PC gaming, Windows Vista, Zune. We'll see hopefully it is all ok.

I have an xbox 360 and a PC and it somewhat concerns me that there are reports starting to come up of the "new" xbox 360 having heating problems and crashing via the new shutdown feature of the 360. take a look at this, found this on destructoid about 2 minutes ago

http://www.destructoid.com/microsoft-responds-to-dot-of-death-allegations-177596.phtml

Well if this is indead true then i doubt i will buy another xbox 360, when his one dies, and it is bound to at some point as it was a replacement xbox. Evidently Microsoft fails again with hardware design. If this is jsut happening on a small scale then ok that is expected but judging by the comment that Microsoft made in that article and said nothing and completely ignored the issue then i beleive my fears are true. Good thing i didn't rush out and buy one like most people did.

I hope my 360 lasts long enough for me to at least play gears 3, i don't see any other games ont eh horizon for xbox except maybe wave your hands like an idiot games. Definitely picking up a PS3 at christmas.

[QUOTE="Sniping_Crowbar"]it comes with all the DLC mas yes, hoinestly ODST was not a very good game pretty weak story imho, however if you don't have all the DLC maps it would be cheaper to get microsoft point and download them instead of buying a 60 dollar game.lazerface216

odst is still $60? it's $30 on amazon and $40 at best buy and walmart.

i thought it was still 60 bucks, nevermind then lets see ummm, legendary, mythic, mythic 2, those are about 10 bucks each so, actually yeah you'd be better off getting ODST then, even though the game isn't taht good you still get all the maps ont hat disc and you can free up some hard drive space.
