[QUOTE="Nerkcon"] Don't play dumb, you know the horrible level scaling system that Bethesda has created in Oblivion and Fallout 3. In 99% of RPGs levels do not scale.Yangire

Which i something I think more RPG's should do. Doesn't power-leveling a character without enemies scaleing with you make the game MUCH easiier (you know, the whole EZ-Mode thing's everyone is complaining about in this thread?). If you really want to have a god complex when playing games, turn the in-game difficulty down, or raise it up if it's too easy. Problem solved.

Level scaling makes everything easier, and it makes stats matter less because everything is changed to meet your requirements. What to beat the game at level one? You can do it because everything is possible to beat at any level.

AHH so thats why I can speed run fallout 1 in 10 minutes.

Actually, he makes a very good point. Be that, it could have been worded in a less insulting way, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get your point acorss, I guess.

xYamatox

If his point is :"If it's not complex enough for you, just don't play it"

Then how about this: Why wouldn't you care about whats happening to something you love to do?

If that's not his point, I dunno. I can't read his error filled wall.

Video games, like everything else in the world, change over time. There will be people who think the change is for the best, and there will be people who think the change is for the worst. If your in the latter, then tough break. Either bite the bullet and accept the change, or don't play the game. Boycotting, ranting, and acting elitist is NOT going to make a difference.

If gaming is truely being ruined, why do you continue to game? Obviously you are still getting some sort of enjoyment out of it.

exactly, pretty much what i said except in a less insulting, and a less sandwhich manner.

No C&C, stupid leveling system, level scaling, bastardized VATS system, essentially no reliance on stats because of the level scaling, Bethesda storyline, etc.

Nerkcon

How is the leveling system stupid? You kill thing/do quests, you get EXP. I guess 99% of all RPG's have stupid leveling systems then.

why is this an issue is it too hard for you? I thought games that were harder and mroe complex were better? i thought that was the whole point of the thread?

I know right? i guess he wants to spend 5 hours grinding in WoW or something. And if he plays WoW he should shutup about fallout 3 since WoW started off good and is now meant for "noobs"/ "casuals"

Sniping_Crowbar

You even said in the last part of his post about sandwitches and how everyone is going to have different opinions, but earlier in the post said Fallout 3 was the best Fallout bar none. He either didn't play them or they were too hard for him. Tell me Sinping_Crowbar, what kind of character did you play in FAllout 1 or 2?

I played stealth/melee class, in fact i had 10 sets of deathclaw gauntlets abd I would scavenge for stealthboys, and use the caps from trading in plasma weapons to the rebel brotherhood of steel guys, and use that to fund my capital raiding adventures. Have you ever stealth killed a Behemoth Before?? its quite hilarious.

yes andme saying Fallout 3 was THE best in the series was my opinion.
