Well I have a gaming PC and i am worried that i may be raising the powerbill more. I don't pay it my parents do, but i want to make sure i am not making it go up too high. My PC specs are

Intel q9400

4gb DDR2 Ram

Nvidia 9800gtx+

5 120mm case fans

1 top 200mm fan

750w Powersupply

Noctua 120mm CPU heatsink.

I want to know if anyone has any idea as to how mucha gaming PC can raise the powerbill by it ould be a real help. Sometimes i game on my console so as to not use so much power as my 360 only consumes about 150w and my tv uses 65w. Can anyone give me some numbers or anyone has nay idead as to how much a gmaing PC can raise a powerbill.

[QUOTE="juden41"] Mmmm, that's not really the type of 'dark' I'm talking about. Majora's Mask was a twisted surreal Alice in Wonderland type of dark. When I say 'dark,' I'd like a harsher, more oppressive 'dark' for Zelda, something like Demon's Souls perhaps. Zelda could totally pull it off, but most of the Zelda games coming out have too much of a 'cartoony' side in my opinion.Rockman999

Then go play Demon's Souls and leave Zelda alone.

Yeah and I think TP was very dark.

If you thought TP was dark then that is a fail, is wasn;t really that dark, it doesn't have to have gore , but I really want to see a realistic looking Zelda game with Link that kicks ass and what not. Reinvent the character. I call for a Legend of Zelda Reboot. Epic music scores and narration and voice acting. It will be amazing.

True or False: Halo hasn't evolved, God Of War hasn't evolved, Gears hasn't evolved, MGS hasn't evolved. Zelda has better gameplay mechanics / level / dungeon design then pretty much every game out there. Stop hating. :|WhenCicadasCry

Halo has changed since 2002 and standardized how FPS controls should be on console along with making Console online gaming more popular. Zelda has not done anything of that magnitude. While the series is enjoyable it seems that Nintendo should take Zelda in a darker setting, not too dark as in Darksiders dark, but more fantasy, more action. I jsut think Nintendo should mkae a beast conosle next gen kind of like how SNES was, super awesome graphics, great games, i mean come on NES and SNES had amazing ames like Metroid and Castlvania Killerinstinct blah blah blah, now we get Zelda OOT remakes and what not.

I think This should be renamed why Digital distribution will be limited at least in the USA. The average internet here is like 4-6mb/s where as in Japan, Korea, Btter parts of Europe its 61, 50, 20 in the order of the countires. And those are jsut the averages. The problem is yes greedy coprs and also Our infrastructure is also not as good as South Korea or Japan in terms of Tech and broadband/fiberoptic connections. The average person could have a super rage connection where we have a super rage at teh screen connection. It sucks yeah, but it K cuz onlive is bad anyway, ive seen some screen shots of UT3 gameplay from onlive and it looks really really bad.

Just tried it out. Fairly impressive considering it's streamed, but you're gonna need at least a 5mb connection for it to work at an acceptable clip.

Very bummed that there's no Crysis or Mass Effect 2. I tried out AC2, UT3, and Dirt 2. To be honest, shooters probably aren't gonna work on this type of system. It's better suited for games like ME2 or AC2. Thing is, you can buy a 360 for $150 that puts out better gfx and has better support.

I think cloud computing is extremely cool, but at this time I don't see the point. A $40 gfx card and Steam/D2D deals is a much safer and stable way to go. Later I'm gonna try OnLive on my sister-in-law's MacBook. Anyway, here's some screens I took...

gamecubepad

those resolution look worse than n xbox 360. Youd really be etter off with a cnsole my freind if you can't afford a gaming PC.

[QUOTE="SquatsAreAwesom"][QUOTE="Oonga"]

I seriously cannot see why anyone would use this service. Such a big waste.

Why would you want 'virtually zero controller lag' when you can have no controller lag?

zyrumtumtuggerd

Faceplant. The power of a $2k computer at your hands for $15/mo that can play on $300 netbooks, or a $75 micro console. The cost / benefit is insane if this service *works*. Aside from the fact that you aren't spending insane amounts on a computer anymore, you also going to be saving a HUGE amount on the electricity bill. Consider the wattage used by a beefy computer versus a netbook. 500 watts versus 100 watts. Do the math.

That wattage is still being used, in fact more is being used because they need to transmit all that information over to your computer. And you're not getting the power of a $2000 computer, $600 tops.

um im pretty sure a netbook dosn't use as much power as a gaming PC does, im sorry but where is your textbook chapter that ays becasue they are streaming internetz you use more power, if that were true his netbook would melt. Either way I would rahter prefer owning my own PC since everything i install on it I own, i don't have to worry about paying a monthly subscription jsut to play games, even if the first year of gaming is free, all the years after that, if you cant pay the fee then what you can't play your games. Also no mods, how do you do multiplayer, can you play with other onlive users is there cross platform multiplayer. I think the games they ofer right now you can just get on steam for very cheap or you'd be better off getting a console.

[QUOTE="Sniping_Crowbar"]I am glad they gor rid of those boring Give me 20 wolf pelt missions and made it more story driven, and they are going to make it more open. The combat it seems has been improved they got rid of that bad Timed clicking nonsense and will actually make the combat good and engaging. I will most likely pick up a wired 360 controller for this game becasue the wireless one wont work -_-.TerrorRizzing
I use a wireless one and it works fine, but for rpgs I never even think of using a 360 controller.

the guy in the stage demo was using an Xbox 360 contorller dude, the combat isn't time based so there is no need for a mouse with this game. Its not hard to select things from an inventory adn most of the time you make potion when your resting. I will pick up a contorller since it seems theres more emphasis on combos and what not.

I am a 360 owner and usually the only difference graphics wise is maybe there are a little less jaggies on the 360 version and maybe some lighting is better but thats about it, they are almost always identical. Most multiplats usually run the same too in terms of FPS. PS3 sometimes has some frame rate problems in say Bayonetta or Orange Box, but Xbox 360 has framerate problems in Darksiders and a few other games. So to be honest unless you are going to play halo, Gears and don't have a good gaming PC for Mass effect then i would jsut stick with your PS3. You should buy a console for exclusives. I love Halo its fun so i Picked the 360, i am thinking of getting a PS3 but yeah cookies.
