Using a mouse and keyboard is actually a lot less comfortable for me than using a controller. But that's probably because my chair and desk are both horrible.

ShyGuy0504

its mainly because they are at a fixed position... whereas with a controller you can hold it in any position that feels comfortable.

The unnatural position of a M/KB causes things like cramping and wrist strain, since most people cant afford to customize their PC desk to an optimal height and even if they could they cant change the level on the fly if their wrist/hands are getting sore like a controller user can.

you mean the guy wearing the razer employee uniform? with a razer employee badge?

Hes apparently a professional gears of war player, when the razer onza isnt even allowed in professional tournaments... so yea.. im sure hes not being paid by razer to hype up a crappy controller.

I was excited for the onza too, until it came out and all the users said it was garbage.

Remmib

Damn really? I was sorta excited for it as well.

Yea user reviews have been horribly negative, saying the generic 360 controller is much better.

THat tells me that if someone were to use a Razer Onza on Xbox Live and were already good with a regular xbox controller that means they'll have a significant advantage over regular 360 controller users.

NoodleFighter

actually they wont, razer onza kinda blows... even the almighty gods of PC peripherals razer couldnt beat MS on controller build quality.

This guy thinks different.......

you can get a good keybaord and mouse for the same price as a console controller, maybe a couple bucks more if you prefer something, BUT its not like someone who spends 100 bucks is going to be be better. It is pretty easy to buy a good mouse that will compete with any other for a relatively cheap price. I use my Logitech G5 mouse that came bundled with 2142, and guess what, its awesome. It is not a crazy expensive mouse.

NoodleFighter

So you're telling me someone who is already good with a mouse won't have a significant advantage with something like a Razer Mamba?

[QUOTE="_Cadbury_"]I don't have a problem with the mouse. But keyboards are definately going to strain the user if used for long periods of time. Especially for gaming. The way you have to manipulate your fingers on just one hand to press an excess of 5 keys is not natural at all. And having so many keys so close together doesn't help. On a controller the furthest a finger may have to move is about an inch max. And even then it's only simple movement, slightly to the side. Not sure about your complaints about the controller. I have big hands/long fingers but the dualshock fits my hands just fine.Remmib

Keyboards destroy controllers.

Having so many keys close together is a good thing, fyi. With a keyboard you can execute so many more actions than with a controller. Just go watch those XIM3 vids of that guy raping consolers with KB/M.

You can't even aim where you are jumping in Halo Reach because the same thumb is used to turn and jump, and in RDR you can't keep control of your horse's speed and aim to kill baddies at the same time due to the same problem. There are never restrictions like that on kb.

Just look at how many actions per minute Starcraft players are able to input.

And also lol at anyone who brings up well you can only move in 8 directions on a keyboard. This is a nonissue in FPS gaming.

Its called the bumper jumper layout on halo reach, clearly you never even bothered to look at the controller layout options.

[QUOTE="Baxhand"]It is their opinion. I am just trying to show that there is a cost to run xbox 360 at the level of service it is at right now. It's worth it to me.Sony will NEVER be able to make that claim. Hacked, jacked, attacked and cracked. It Should be free. The developers run the 3rd party servers not sony. PSN is just a hacked portal to get to said servers.Besides the sony servers ran by sony itself.Trying to show worth of a product in here is hard as you said lol.tormentos
Live doesn't have server for the majority of the games, just for match making, they use your own connection and hardware to host the game, which is not even close as having 50 servers for 1 game on PS3,what you need to understand is that every time you buy a game part of those profits go toward the online portion of the game, even low selling game get enough profits to run servers,is not this huge expensive structure than no one can run and most be charge for. You have to understand that the same expenses MS has sony also has them and even more, because there are more games on PS3 with servers than on live,it cost Sony more to keep Warhawk running than what it cost MS to keep Gear of War Running, one is a P2P game the other use server for up to 16 vs 16 battles. MS is one of the richest companies in the world, they don't need to charge for live you have to understand that they charge because they want to make out for the losses they got, which is understandable they want profits, but man adds,DLC and royalties from games are already paying for live big time, there is no need for a fee.

They dont make enough money off DLC, im pretty sure PSN hasnt been profitable yet.

I think its worth a fee, not necessarily its fee.

Its a premium service im willing to pay for. Which is why i have been an xbox live member for multiple years now.

But at the same time i dont think ive ever had to pay more than $35 a year due to sales and specials (still have a couple 1 year cards in a drawer). At that pricepoint its well worth it, at a $60 price point... i would have trouble justifying the purchase in my eyes.

So i guess i see both sides. XBL is a service worth paying for.. but maybe not worth paying $60 a year for when considering the relative value. Luckily if you look around for deals its fairly easy to get xbox live much cheaper.

[QUOTE="nchan"]

The experience using a analog controller is totally different from using a keyboard and mouse combo. I tried xbox controller with Bulletstorm yesterday and wow, it is much more fun than using a keyboard and mouse combo. The aiming of xbox controller is such a hassle that it makes the game a bit more challenging and funner. With a keyboard and mouse or the Wiimote, the aiming is too acurate that it is not as fun. Also i get much less motion sickness from using an xbox controller than using a the mouse to look around. So for all the PC gamers that never try a console controller for their pc gaming, I suggest you get an xbox/playstation controller. I can see why console gamers argue that playing fps with analog sticks take more skill than a keyboard and mouse combo because it is kind of true.

rollermint

Its also true that its way harder to walk using both your hands while being upside down than using your two feet.

But its still retarded as heck, though so why bother.

Besides, let me introduce you to the Razer Nostromo :

See that nifty analog stick?

So you see, the PC can actually opt to get a control mechanism that has both keyboards, analog stick AND mouse for gaming.

PC WINS, AGAIN.

There is no such thing as a razer nostromo thats a ****** nostromo n52te speedpad, which i have 6 inches away from my sitting on my desk right now. Its not made by razer, someone photoshopped that razer logo on the picture and cropped out the original logos for whatever reason. And its not an analog stick, its actually a dpad with a little peice of plastic that you can attach or detach... but it still functions like a dpad either way and not a control stick. This is the unphotoshopped version of the peripheral...

And i probably shouldnt help your cause due to your obnoxious "PC WINS AGAIN" comment.

However there is the logitech g13 gameboard, which i believe has a fully fledged control stick (i dont own one so i cant say for sure)

Either way i prefer consoles for shooters, and apparently my pc gaming knowledge is superior :P

Console fps is different, i played so damn many PC fps games over the years i got bored... and console fps, thanks in large part to the controller, helped reignite the fun of the genre for me and add a new variety of challenge.

[QUOTE="_Cadbury_"][QUOTE="Iantheone"] I disagree again. A keyboard is designed to be able to be used for long periods of time without any strain on the user. The same goes for a mouse. Hell, I probably have the most comfortable mouse you can get since I can customize the thing to fit my hand. Controllers are a little too small and your hands are too close together for it to be comfortable at all for me.

edidili

Oh really? Then how come mmo players, which are known for playing in long sessions prefer the keyboard?

Because thats the only option mmo players have.

EDIT: well actually thats not true i dont use the keyboard for MMOs (unless im typing a message), i bought an ergonomic nostromo speedpad specifically to play them.
