When they release a new console. So far, only Sony's shown a commitment to their old consoles after a new console is released. It already seems like Nintendo is dumping the Wii and DS after the release of the Wii-U and 3DS.

LoserMike

Its smart business, imo.

helps give the old platform's install base a nudge to pickup the new system, and means you dont have to divide your resources. Its obviouslly costlier to discontinue a console you are making a hefty profit on, and encourage people to buy consoles you are taking a loss on instead... but its an investment in the future.

[QUOTE="SoBaus"]ANd with your masterful understanding of BMI, you also cant show that a single pro bodybuilder is less than obese under bmi.

Nibroc420

BMI is intended to calculate a healthy weight for X group. You are using it for group Y.
Because of this, you're using BMI incorrectly. As such your point is moot.

you are also trying to ignore your past. I said bodybuilders were considered obese under BMI, you said i didnt understand BMI. But you cant show me a single bodybuilder with a BMI that isnt considered obese.

So if im wrong, you can show me bodybuilders with BMI's less than obese. But you cant, BECAUSE YOU ARE WRONG. YOU ARE WRONG.

Thats silly, just because you dont understand the correct usage, doesn't mean there isn't one.

If you want to learn it's correct usage, i suggest you try google. However claiming that something isn't there, doesn't make it disappear.

Nibroc420

you say pro bodybuilders arent considered obese due to BMI, put up or shutup at this point. This is just stupid... i was correct from the beginning. SHOW ME A PRO BODYBUILDER THAT DOESNT HAVE A BMI AS OBESE OR SHUTUP.

Again, BMI would not accurately represent someone who is as active as Ronnie Coleman. Learn what BMI is, rather than bashing something you dont understand.

So lets make sure this statement is correct. When i said pro bodybuilders are considered obese by the BMI... and you said i was wrong, because i dont understand BMI. YOU ARE CORRECT.

I just want this on the record. Even though, you have no way to prove me wrong... you just feel it. Because all pro bodybuilders are considered obese by BMI standards... but it doesnt matter if facts back me... you have blind belief.

ANd with your masterful understanding of BMI, you also cant show that a single pro bodybuilder is less than obese under bmi.

[QUOTE="SoBaus"]Remember when i said most pro bodybuilders are considered obese by BMI standards, you said i didnt understand the BMI....?

You still need to explain that.

Nibroc420

BMI should never be used to calculate a body builder's healthiness.
You also didn't know the correct way to calculate BMI.

To suggest even using BMI on a Body builder, shows your complete lack of understand in it's correct usage. It's like saying "I know what a car is for" and then driving it into a lake...You're not using it right.

can you not say you were wrong? There is no correct usage, I say im wrong all the time... Are you incapable of admitting you were wrong?

Calipers are a far more accurate measurement.

I encourage everyone to get weigth training and get buff instead of trying to match BMI. And if you have heavy thick wide bones, I envy you even though you are obese.

magicalclick

guess im lucky to be obese. Kepp trying, and you can get as morbidly obese s pro bodybuilders.

[QUOTE="Nibroc420"] Learn it's proper usage,

and you'll understand my issue with what "SoBaus" and the others people who denounce these graphs as proof.

Nibroc420

whatever your understanding of the BMI is, calculate ronnie coleman's BMI and tell me the result. If hes not obese based on your calculation... ill admit defeat. But show your work.

BMI isnt ment to be used on people who work-out to get as big as possible. BMI IS used to estimate the BMI of people who are not considered "active", unless calculating the the average body mass of a large group. To use it in any other manner would be counter-productive, and inaccurate, as such, there would be no reason to even calculate Ronnie Coleman's BMI.

So its a general metric that doesnt work on pro bodybuilders.... as i originally said? Since most pro bodybuilders would be considered obese.

Remember when i said most pro bodybuilders are considered obese by BMI standards, you said i didnt understand the BMI....?

You still need to explain that.

just admit you are wrong...

[QUOTE="surrealnumber5"][QUOTE="Nibroc420"] "it is meant to be used as a simple means of classifying sedentary (physically inactive) individuals with an average body composition" to use it on anyone else would be against the proper usage of BMI, and as such, your point is invalid.Nibroc420

you are so wrong its not even funny, the BMI was created in the 1830's by Adolphe Quatelet, being a statistician he thought he could create a formula that would give the optimum weight for a person height.

my point was that pro bodybuilders, such as ronnie coleman are considered morbidly obese by the BMI (which they are) you are the one saying i dont know how it works.

So if i dont know how it works, show me how ronnie colemen is considered skinny by BMI standards. Im still waiting for this miraculous computation that makes me wrong...

I'm waiting for you to use the BMI scale properly, rather than on someone who isn't "physically inactive with average body composition"

My claim is pro bodybuilders are considered morbidly obese on the BMI scale, you said i dont understand the BMI scale. Ronnie Coleman is considered morbidly obese on the BMI scale.

Now you are throwing quotes into the mix, if pro bodybuilders arent considered obese by BMI... prove it, or go away. I have a healthy understanding, you dont.
