My wife has a the new 3DS XL and I'm using the original 3DS XL like yourself. After trying her newer model I can honestly say outside of the better 3DS effect there isn't much of a point into getting rid of your 3DS XL> Unless you want those 1-2 games exclusively. The system is overall little faster but nothing to cheer about.

Nintendo did mention they will have more N3DS specific games but that promise is down the drain.

Your decision ultimately.

@benny_boy98: PlayStation Now (PS Now) is a cloud-based gaming service which will allow you to play PS3 titles by streaming them over the internet. Think of it like Netflix, but for games instead of films.

As far as I know PlayStation Now is available on the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.

@wwe_xbox360: I have had both (PS4 & Wii U) until recently (picked up the two 3DS handhelds after Wii U trade for me & wife) - it's a great family system. The more people are enjoying the Wii U the better, its more fun that way. However that doesn't mean there aren't any personal experiences. I loved both Bayonetta games and Zelda HD remasters.

If you can afford it, I would go for it.

@locus-solus: Good list I would also like to add:

Upcoming titles: Kingdom Hearts III, Star Ocean: Integrity & Faithlessness just came out few days ago (doesn't have the best reviews atm), Tales of Zestiria, my personal most anticipated - Persona 5 is out soon, World of Final Fantasy looks interesting, Look up Valkyria Chronicles (Out now).

There is more but that's a good list.

@roughlife: My fondest memory on PS1 were numerous JRPG's, countless of school hours spend with Vagrant Story, FFVII, Legend of Dragoon, Breath of Fire 4, etc.

For the PS2 era - cinematic games started to show their strengths and I still remember Metal Gear Solid 2 and my favorite Snake Eater, Resident Evil 4 was superb, Shadow of Colossus and ICO were excellent emotional drives, God of War II and Dragon Quest VIII were excellent... It truly was the best console when it comes to well done games, Silent Hill 2, Persona 4, Gran Turismo 4, Kingdom Hearts II.. The list can go on for a while.

I had a decent time with the PS3 and today the PS4 provides good selection but it's still not where the PlayStation 2 was and I doubt it will ever capture it. Nevertheless, it's a great machine that I use almost daily.

@nilen: Have you considered other Bethesda games? Fallout 3, Skyrim, Oblivion, New Vegas for example. Personally, I like Mad Max and Wasteland 2.

If you have the PC try: Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl and Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.

As much as I would love to see a beefed up PS Vita (maybe a smartphone mix design) I doubt it will happen at all. While the hardware itself even today can produce stunning games and the screen is gorgeous the software support isn't there anymore.

I still have mine but it will go towards the trade in value once Neo is announced.

@foxterpop: To be honest we don't have any information about Neo as of yet. Not the price of it or the features included, or the official release date.

As of right now, rumors are saying it might be coming this year. That's all I'm aware of. It could be worth waiting until the end of the year and by then we might have Neo out and the pricing will be clear.

@Coseniath: That does look very appealing, lets see how the price is, if it fits my budget. I'm also hearing very good results for RX 470.

Thank you, I will jump on the Mobo and CPU and I have no rush for the video card. If RX480 turns out cheaper for better performance I will pick it up.

Question, should I look into Skylake CPU and Mobo/Memory or wait?
