Hi guys
i want to buy an LG W2453V 24inch 1080p monitor,
but i looked on every website i can found and nowhere does it says what kind of resolutions it supports other than 1920x1080.
i'm really interested in that monitor, but i dont want to play pc games and surf the web in 16:9
but i want the 1080p for my ps3 and 360...
so if anybody got that monitor, could you please tell me if it supports 1680x1050?
thx in advance

Why don't you want to surf in 16:9?
And if it does support 1680*1050, its going to look horrible, because thats not the native resolution.
well, in 16:9 everything will look slightly wrong won't it?

Hi, today i was playing an avi and all of a sudden, my pc froze when i was trying to rewind a little..
now after i restarted my pc, i can no longer highlight or start an avi, or else my pc freezes...i dont understand whats happening.
i can still play 1080p mkv files without a problem but avi will crash my pc everytime.
I scanned to make sure if i had viruses, i defraged and cleaned diskdrive, i even made a disk checkup, everything is fine.
i dont wanna reinstall windows, just for a stupid thing like this
any idea?
thx
if it works like i think it works, you can plug 2 cables at the same time, but cant use them both at the same time...[QUOTE="SolidSnakeJT"]

Ya theres no small, inexpensive DVI splitters like the HDMI one at the moment it seems. Heres just a DVI splitter if you want.
good luck

so if i had a pc and ps3 connected i would have to remove the pc cable in order to play ps3 because the source from the pc would always be there unless i shut the pc.
But....if i had a 360 and ps3 connected, that would work because there would only be one source at once.
so if i buy a dvi to vga adaptor for my pc screen and a vga to dvi adaptor for my 360 i could plug both console in the dvi splitter... that way, i wouldnt have to switch cables, am i right ?
Thats right, but thats a lot of cables.
I'm trying to make it so you don't have to have digital signals to analog and everything ending up not working.
Ok so how bout keeping your PC connected to DVI, having your PS3 and 360 both having A/V to VGA and then running the VGAs threw a splitter to your monitor.
Something like this for your PS3
Edit- Better/cheaper cable here
Edit2- Nevermind you'd just need a splitter not a switch... Here
you know what, ive been to a store today and wanted to buy a dvi to vga adaptor, but the guy told me since hdmi is digital it wouldnt work for my ps3, so instead i just bought a dual vga cable..now my 360 and pc are connected to the same cable (costs only 6$) but i cant have a source for my 360 when my pc is already in use, so i just unplug the pc dable from the adaptor....i just put the cable on the wall behind the monitor so i just plug, unplug without tightening the screws...so it takes a big 2seconds to do ;) thx a lot for the help thoughp.s. the only thing that annoys me is that i can play gt5 prologue in 1080p, but uncharted is blurry in 1080 like if it was 480i or something, even though the monitor source says 1920x1079 (yes it says 1079 instead of 1080) so i have to play it in 720p
so to the other guys who says 1680x1050 monitors cant play true 1080p, i always believed it to be true, but how come the monitor tells me its currently in 1920x1079?
how would the monitor tells me that, if its not even suposed to that high?
lol ok thx, so it seems i'm screwed and will need to switch cables...unless i find something in stores tommorow... thx for helping me anyway :D[QUOTE="SolidSnakeJT"][QUOTE="TehSonofUgly"]
 you're kidding me..
Ok one sec
Edit- No that doesn't, so i guess you'd have to switch cables anyway :P

[QUOTE="SolidSnakeJT"]well, actually you know what? forget about the switch, because i already have the hdmi to dvi cable...so that would be a waste of money... i really need something that lets me plug 2 dvi-d at the same time...something like what you showed me but for dvi instead of hdmi. i found one but only for dvi-i, i need one for dvi-dTehSonofUgly

lol ok thx, so it seems i'm screwed and will need to switch cables...unless i find something in stores tommorow... thx for helping me anyway :Dok thx, so with this, i plug my ps3 hdmi and my pc dvi in this adapor, and then plug the adaptor in the monitor ? but how do i switch between both? is there a switch on the adaptor ? so that means, my hdmi to dvi cable will be of no use anymore lolOk so you PC is plugged in via DVI.
And you just have a 360 A/V to VGA adapter then, right?
So i think the best way without having to buy a lot more new cables is to get a HDMI/DVI in to DVI out splitter then.
Here
I think that should work, but you'll have to change from PC/PS3 rather then PS3/360
