Final Fantasy 12 is the most boring game I've ever played by far. You just run around the world aimlessly with a little tiny story detail revealed to you every couple of hours.
10 was epic though, I'd go with that one.
Anyone wanna answer my previous question?WHAT exactly do you want to do with in game XMB that couldn't be handled by developers implementing friends list and custom soundtracks?
I am really interested in what is so special about accessing the XMB during a game.adamatoms
If developers actually let you send messages to your friends and listen to your own music during a game, I don't think people would be pissed about this.
A lot of adventure movies follow a formula, and try to keep that light-hearted mood. Uncharted was influenced by those movies, so its easy to find similarities there.
Remember that scene in Notting Hill where Hugh Grant bashed that pirate's head into the rock then kicked him in the nuts? THAT WAS AWESOME!!!
So pretty much the movie is about sunglasses? At least Milla Jovovich is hot.
Anyways, this doesn't mean for sure this guy will write and direct the movie, just that the producers have him in mind.
Good lord, coming to that "Kurt Wimmer would fill it with goofy fantasy stuff - try to picture MGS looking like Ultraviolet." part reading your post, kinda put a bullet in my head. The only thing good about Ultraviolet was Milla. It was basicly a 2 hour "look at how hot I am as a change my look" though being a guy, I have no problem with that. But all and all, the movie just plain sucked.

Yeah man, that's how I felt when I clicked the link and saw his name there staring me down. I never actually saw Ultraviolet, but it looked so bad, and I've heard horror stories about it. Wimmer also made Equilibrium, which was a pretty cool Matrix-ey kind of movie, but I don't think that s-tyle is any good for Metal Gear. It sounds like they're trying to go the route of every other video game movie and turn it into a mindless action flick.
Video game movies are terrible because they adapt games that have weak-ass stories to begin with, like Street Fighter or whatever. Metal Gear Solid is already built to be like an interactive movie, so it's a perfect choice for film. I'm glad it's live action though. MGS games are pretty much already CGI movies, I don't wanna see the same thing all over again.
That's cool you mentioned Die Hard though. They should try to get John McTiernan, the guy who did the first Die Hard movie. MGS is a really gritty, semi-realistic world. Kurt Wimmer would fill it with goofy fantasy stuff - try to picture MGS looking like Ultraviolet.
