Oops! Doll Festival is on the 3rd of March, not 7th Feb.

It seems I have may a mistake. :P Thanks to Angus_Mac, I now realise that the Girls festival is actually on the 3rd of March, and not the 7th of Feb. This is good news in a way, because the ladies are now able to (if they so wish) plan something for themselves.
So far this week: I have been informed that the beautiful young talented Paris Bennet has made it through to the second round of American Idol. Yay! I also read that "Wallace and Gromit" won 8 Annie Awards (some say 10), including best animated film at the 33rd Annual Annie Awards. It even beat "Howl's Moving Castle" to the award. Personally, I blame Disney for the loss. I felt that the english dubbing for the film was not up to satisfactory standard.

Tiny Dancer?

I'm a tiny dancer? Well there goes my male ego. How in the world did I jump to level 15? I hardly ever drop by here anymore. Sigh...and over at TV.com things are so slow.

7th Feb: Girl Festival

Japan celebrated the Girl Festival yesterday (Or is it the Doll Festival). So I thought I'd wish all the girls and ladies a happy belated day to all of you.

Missing blogs: A worrying issue

I noticed yesterday that several months of my blogs had gone missing. I understand that this problem had happened weeks ago, but I'm only realising it now. The missing blogs is a worrying issue for me, and probably for you too. Not that anything really important had gone missing, but the fact that the important blogs almost did, worries me. My blog of compiled riddles was two blogs away from going into limbo. And the blogs that are now missing contained answers to some of the riddles, which is a good and a bad thing. TV.com should have been more careful about things like this. As a matter of fact, it surprises me that a programmer could make such a careless mistake. I can only hope that such a thing will never happen again, and I advice everyone to make a copy of all their important work just in case.
Bad Year for Dogs It's the year of the dog, and already it's not been a good year for them. I read in the papers a few days ago about how puppies were used to smuggle in drugs past customs. And I also learnt that since it's the year of the dog, there's been an increase in demand for dogs as pets. I am not in support of the idea of people keeping dogs as pets or used as gifts just because it's the latest trend. IMO, most owners aren't really prepared to upkeep a dog. They aren't able to get a dog housebroken (they've never even heard of paper training), and as a result, the dogs are often ill-treated. So I urge everyone to please first ask yourself if you have the time, resources and patience before you actually get one.
New Riddle! It's the new week, and time for a new riddle. Riddle#28: Not a rich person, just an expensive one The answer to the cryptic riddle is a title to a television show. If you know the answer to this cryptic riddle, PM me. Please do not leave the answer in the comment box. Some of you probably already know that I have completed a couple of the emblems to be used as awards. The response to them has been positive. I've already been receiving several PMs involving the riddles minutes after I introduced these emblems. And they keep coming and coming. I'm currently working on the next emblem called 'The TV Sleuth'. In fact, I've just completed it. And if you're looking for the rest of my cryptic television riddles, Cryptic Television Riddles

Completed some emblems

For the very few who have been waiting for me to complete the reward emblems for the Television Cryptic Riddles. I wish to inform you that I have completed 2 of these emblems and will be awarding them to the well deserved very soon.

Cryptic Television Riddles: The Emblems

The Cryptic Television Riddles are a compilation of riddles that I began in 2005. The riddles hide clues that leads to the titles of various television programmes from the past and present. These riddles are not simple to solve. They often require some familiarity with the show and/or certain general knowledge as well as some analytical skill. As such, the people who have successfully solved these riddles are few in numbers. Most do not even wish to try. So in recognition of those who have made successes in solving these riddles, I have made emblems for them. The TV Thinker The TV Thinker
Awarded to those who have solved at least 5 riddles correctly. The TV BrainiacThe TV Brainiac
Awarded to those who have solved at least 15 riddles correctly. The TV SleuthThe TV Sleuth
Awarded to those who have solved at least 25 riddles correctly.
Those deserving of these emblems will be awarded the respective emblem through a comment left by me on their blog. Receivers of these emblems may, if they so wish, display them on their blogs. Anyone who believes he/she deserves to receive these emblems but have not been awarded one should PM me with the number of riddles they have solved.

Up'ed a level

Well I went up a level to 'The Super Spy". Not much action at this blog however. Don't suppose anyone noticed my profile image? Apparently, they've got those back up.

Howl's Moving Castle nominated for Oscar!

Howl's Moving CastleHayao Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle has been nominated for an Oscar award for Best Animated Feature. His film shall(I like that word) be competing against Tim Burton's Corspe Bride Corpse Bride and Nick Park & Steve Box's Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
It's pretty obvious as to which film I will be supporting, although I believe it will be a tough fight between Howl's Moving Castle and Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
Hayao Miyazaki has already won one Oscar for his film Spirited Away, and had the Oscar introduced that category in 1986 instead of 2002, he would have won a lot more IMO. It is also noted that this year's nominations marks the first time that all the animated films were not produced primarily by computer-generated imagery.

  • A night with Paris

A couple of nights ago, after taking my daily dose of one of my favourite Japanese animation programme called 'Naruto', I decided to check out the last hour of 'American Idol'. Now I am not a fan of the show, and I never really liked the performances of any of the contestants in the previous seasons. And so I was merely going to spend a few minutes watching the contestants slaughter the music that I hold so dear to me.
Sounds of Blackness However, I was just in time to check out the audition of a wonderful young girl by the name of Paris Bennet. Paris was mentioned in the show as being related to the lead singer of the Grammy Award winning band, Sounds of Blackness.
And so it wasn't too unexpected that Paris would be able to sing well, but I was not that optimistic. However, I was totally over the moon the moment she sang the song "Take Five". Click here to judge for yourself. (Note: Links may take a few minutes to load)

Carmen McRaeMarilyn Maye'Take Five' was written by Dave Brubeck, and the song has been performed by many artist including Carmen McRae and Marilyn Maye (Click pics to listen). Judging from Paris's performance and the history of previous performances by the contestants from past seasons, it is my personal opinion that Paris Bennet will be the final winner in this seasons 'American Idol'.

    Take Five (Lyrics)
Won't you stop And take a little time out with me Just take five Just take five So stop your busy day And take some time out to see That I'm alive That I'm alive And 'though I'm going out of my way Just so I can pass by each day Not a single word do we say It's a pantomime, another time Still I know all eyes are for me I feel tingles down to my feet When your smile gets much too discreet Sending me on my way Now wouldn't it better Not to be so polite If you could offer a light So start a little conversation now It's alright Just take five
Image hosting by Photobucket Yes, it's been more than two weeks since the last riddle. I'm sorry it took so long, but I haven't had time, I haven't been thinking straight and furthermore, people have been eating at my brain. Anyway, here it is:
Riddle#27: The first lies hidden in oppression, the second frees it
The answer to the cryptic riddle is a title to a television show. If you know the answer to this cryptic riddle, PM me. Please do not leave the answer in the comment box. Currently, Riddle#26 remains unsolved. And so far, most of the people who are interested in my riddles are men. Ladies, are you gonna let the men walk over you in this game?
The creation of the emblems for the cryptic riddles game is currently still on going. I have so far completed one of the three emblems and have also come up with the names for them. I am still taking suggestions from anyone regarding what image to use for them.

I noticed that my counter indicates over a hundred new visitors to my blog since I first had the counter, but only less than twenty have actually left a comment on my blog. It would be nice if you could just take a moment to at least say hello. That way, I'll know who stopped by.
