Hidden: Source. No game has ever made my heart race and heighten my focus like this one did. Despite being a multiplayer game that pits a squad against one monster called The Hidden, it's anything but lopsided in one team's favor. Being the last person on the squad really makes you maintain 360 degree awareness, constant movement, pay attention to everything since The Hidden's blurred outline is the only thing to indicate his position, and encourages you to stay in cramped areas.
And there's Trauma Center, I'm just going to say this game made it apparent how retardedly durable the DS's touchscreen is.
Matyrdom. Seriously, what kind of fragfest punishes you for killing your opponent?
Tripping, do I need to explain this?
Pretty much everything about JRPGs. The random battles you fight for every step you take, the useless party members you generally have to level up, critical hits and misses, and the fighting is a bore. The only turn based RPGs I've ever enjoyed are the Paper Mario and M & L games.
Snake relies on camping, not aerials.
Without his infinites, Dedede would have to rely on his edgeuarding to kill, which plenty of characters do better than him.

He's still a very good character without the infinites.
Falco's recovery still sucks.

Worse in Melee.
Marth and Meta Knight are the biggest obstacles in the top-tier for most characters, and it's not like either are unstoppable. Both lack projectiles and are lightweight. About comparable to Marth and Shiek in Melee, not to mention that most low-tier characters are still much improved from the low tier in Melee. It's pretty close, I'd say.

I'll give you being lightweight, but Metaknight can still camp effectively, he's one of the gayest ledgestallers in the game. Seriously, just give up, Melee is more balanced, plain and simple. And I'm getting tired of argueing, but one more thing before I go.

The whiners on Smashboards believe that Sakurai is out to murder them in their sleep.

Casuals feel the same way about competitive players.
I believe it would. With infinites out of the picture, no matchup outside of Captain Falcon vs. any carbon lifeform is as imbalanced as top-tier/low-tier in Melee. At the very least, more characters would be viable than in Melee.

Melee would still be more balanced, Shiek's, Fox's, and Falco's recovery were absolute garbage, knocking them off the stage was a golden opportunity but on the otherhand in Brawl when Metaknight is knocked off the stage he's going to make it back, period. Doc, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Donkey Kong, Roy, Mewtwo, Game and Watch all had deadly 0 to death combos on Fox and Falco that could be started with a grab, and these are just chaingrabs, Fox and Falco are still some of the comboable characters in the game without the chaingrabs.
But does the majority of the community think that the competitive aspect of the game is being destroyed? And by "the majority" I don't mean "the whiners on Smashboards." If that were true, Melee would still be bigger competitively.

The "whiners on smashboards" have much more to back up their thoughts than you do. And Melee is growing competitively.
I think it's pretty obvious.

M2K mained Mewtwo way, way, way back in the day. Mewtwo doesn't have anything to do with his preferences.
Honestly, I think the community can find a way to ban infinites, and they should. I do agree that those matchups are stupid, but the problem is fixable, and if it was fixed, the barrier would be largely removed for most characters.
poster
Banning the infinites wouldn't make Brawl more balanced than Melee.
If there is really a problem with the competitive scene, then it should be agreed on by all competitive players. Not just a few examples of people who prefer Melee.
poster
The majority of the competitive smash community prefers Melee.
Plus, M2K = Mew2King, right? I can see why he would prefer Melee...
poster
Which is?
Marth is a pain for anyone, but if you're talking about grab release, both characters are difficult to grab and have projectiles, which Marth lacks a good defense against. It's not an impossible matchup, and it's only one example.

I will admit Melee has retarded matchups like Shiek vs Bowser and Mewtwo vs Marth but they're nothing compared to the infinites Marth and Dedede have.
Tell that to the people who earn money playing the game competitively.

Pros shoot down Brawl all the time, M2K is the top player at both games and hates Brawl, he and many others also have made it clear they only play Brawl for money.
. . .and it also excludes less characters from tournament play.

I stopped reading there, fight a competent Marth with Ness or Lucas.
