I never thought I would quit buying movies and music physical or digital download.....and I have almost completely except for my favorite videos/albums. I buy maybe 1 CD a year and maybe 2-3 movies a year...

However gaming is my hobby, and I want the best experience possible so I still buy physical; not just for the best play experience, but for the tangible assets as well.

I think physical gaming will always be a thing, look at music, RECORDS came back!!!! They have new albums released on records, new record players, high end head phones and speakers.

I think there will always be a hobby crowd for gaming.

@heirren: If anything I'm an old man telling his son to get off his gameboy and go swimming in the ocean.

Get off your screen and go have a fun beach experience lol

I'd like to see the Dreamcast come back, mainly just to see it's full potential from a games standpoint.

@Renegade_Fury: No worries.

Curse of the moon always looked good to me however, like a super charged NES Castlevania.

@davillain-: I feel ya, that is a good way of looking at it. I'd rather collect physical copies though.

There's a lot of interesting research going on about digital media collecting and how younger generations have less physical stuff.....but have moved to digital "stuff" or assets.

I can go to the beach with a few, tether the phone, and get Mario Kart online going. Cant do that with Xbox or Playstation. Its what suits your lifestyle. Not everybody wants all those features.

Maybe if you are a die-hard gamer kid or teenager and use the social aspects of those formats, but imo at that point their parents should treat proper ways to interact with other.

If you're going to the beach to play switch you're doing the beach wrong.

A better argument would be on a plane, bus, or long car ride.

Way to many imo. It's probably around 25. These days I'm much stricter with myself on which games I actually purchase. I plan to play them more or less right away.

I'm in the same boat, I noticed I was buying too many games and not even playing them, now I am much stricter and will only buy a game after I finish some that I already have

I'm really afraid of game streaming, as it will have the same affect; thousands of games at your finger tips where you spend more time looking for a game to play than actually playing games....or you just play the same 2 games

@Lucianu: That's still a pain in the butt.......

Like I said, more power to you and other people who like to troubleshoot but I don't want to do any of that stuff. Yeah you can get it to work for this game, but what about every other old hidden gem that has shit wrong with it?

@boxrekt: dude those ps2 pics are touched up or fake, I'm play destroy all humans right now on ps2 with component cables and I'm telling you ps2 to ps3 is a much bigger jump than 3 to 4.

Go back and play some ps2 games on a real ps2.

@kirks: If your parents are threatening to smash things I don't know if talking will do any good, some parents are stubborn as all get out, and you might be wasting time and energy trying to convince them otherwise. By all means you can try.

I would just wait it out 2 years until you're an adult and on your own.
