Spiderman City Sleeps DLC and I'll try to get back into DMC5

I find myself playing Indie games such as metroidvanias or Shmups. These games are engaging and they are pick up and play as well!

Love me some dead cells right now.

But I'd really love to look in the psychology of gaming today. There is sooooo much choice right now in games, back in the day you had a console and that was it! And usually just one console! (For the most part, there were exceptions)

I feel overwhelmed with choice TBH, I'm a collector and I have multiple consoles, and I find myself playing new games for only a few levels before losing interest and playing something else. Especially AAA games, there are exceptions like God of War and Spiderman, both I completed and did a lot of extra in.

One thing I need to do, like others have said in this thread, is to focus on games I want to play, and not worry about new releases, or finishing games quick.

I've found that if I play a game I like and play at my own pace, I enjoy myself more.

Basically what everyone else is saying.

Graphics, sound, look and feel of Star Wars is all there BUT

The combat looked slow and shallow, there just wasn't anything to get excited about. The AI was dumb and stiff.

Having to buy new games separately is going to kill this.

You pay for it to then stream it.....but once you stop your subscription you can't play anymore?

@Renegade_Fury: Kinda agree, Golden Axe was great for the time, and these mini consoles are supposed to take you back and feel some nostalgia. At least Golden Axe is playable today.

And I know I'm gonna sound like a hypocrite...but I agree Altered Beast is horrible...I don't see why this game gets praised the way it does! I thought it was crap back in the day too! It's not playable at ALL!!! The game is a waste of space, and yes needs to be taken out.

The only reason I think people like it was for the graphics at the time, since it was getting compared to NES games, but it's like people are living in some sort of denial state and they can't actually admit the game is crap.

Edit* Ok after some quick research, THE ARCADE game was somewhat well received, but the Genesis version is considered bad....it still doesn't excuse why the game continues to pop up in collections, and why some in the retro gaming community defend it.

Kudos to you for recognizing Ranger X!!!! But I would take out some games from your list too, where's Aladdin??? No Golden Axe???? Mortal Kombat?

People can go back and forth on what games to add and subtract, but I do think the mini games are diverse and a good representation of the Genesis.

I personally don't need every Sonic, Streets of Rage, or Golden Axe Game. Give me the best of each series and I'm good.

Why are people so down on the mini? From what I can see they listened to the fans and put some real gems on there!

Darius, Castlevania Bloodlines, Contra Hard Corps, Mega Man Wily Wars, Thunder Force 3!!!!! Those are all great games that A) weren't widely released or at all in some regions, B) are expensive games to own the original cart and C) the mini doesn't have any filler type games.

There are other collections out there that have other games on them if people really want them, the Sega Genesis Collections on PS4 and Switch has some Sonic, Phantasy Star, and Streets of Rage games missing from the mini.

You can get older collections from previous gens to get Sonic 3 as well....or go buy the cart
