Nah, netflix didn't kill cinemas

Not everyone is huge on subscriptions, eventhough they sound cheaper on paper.

But there's a difference, new movies aren't released to Netflix Day one with Theaters. Disney Plus and HBO Max are releasing movies to Theaters and Streaming services day 1 and it is indeed affecting movies sales to the Theaters. So much so you have actors and actresses suing Disney over it. (Contracts have actors taking home a portion of theater box office revenue) Disney Plus even has an extra $30 fee to stream the movie the same day as Theaters.

HOWEVER, HBO Max only keeps the movie on the streaming service for a month, after that it's back to Theaters only.

SO it's safe to assume that yes, GamePass does affect games sales. The question is whether or not the devs get enough money up front from MS to offset the lack of individual sales, or if the Game is good people go out and buy it anyway. MS or Devs really aren't talking about this in detail right now so we don't know.

I do think we need to be cautious with GamePass. Im telling you, as soon as it gets a foothold the price is going to increase per month and games will leave the service quicker. Like HBO Max

@HalcyonScarlet: How is this going over your head so bad? MS had nothing to do with the development of any Bethesda games. Nothing, zip, nada. They aren't MS games. They haven't made any games with those IPs yet. It doesn't matter who owns the IP, it's about the people who made the games and the games themselves.

No one calls the original spyro trilogy Activision games. We all know who made the originals. Insomniac. They get the credit not Activision. (Activision did the spyro IP dirty once they got their hands on it)

@HalcyonScarlet: Because it's not an MS game from an MS studio. MS didn't make the game. MS owns rare but no one calls Goldeneye 64 an MS game......

Calling Deathloop or Skyrim MS games is stupid. They didn't make them or have any part in those games or franchises.

You got pwned dude.

Goldeneye is a MS game now, barring the James Bond licence. So is Perfect Dark and all the other games they released on Xbox. MS own every single ip that RARE and Bethesda ever made. :-S

If MS some how got the James Bond licence, they could remaster Goldeneye just like they did with Perfect Dark and Conker's Bad Fur Day. And RARE doesn't have to have anything to do with it.

Deathloop AND Skyrim are now MS Studio ips. They can do whatever they want with them. The original Doom is now a MS game.

If I make something and sell it to someone, they now own it as well as all rights to it.

Your fictional rules has no basis in reality. There is no such rule that someone has to be present at the point of conception of a game to be able to put their name on it.

No it's not, anything Bethesda made before MS bought them are Bethesda games. Same goes for old Rare games. MS had 0 involvement.

Saying otherwise is delusional. Pwned

Sheesh

Deathloop was in development when MS bought them a long time ago, way before release, and the game came out well after MS had bought them. Arkane is a MS Studio and has been for some time. That doesn't change just because they honoured a contract.

For a dayfly March 2021 is a long time ago. By human standards... No.

Haha owned

Yeah Im sure Deathloop wasn't anywhere close to being done by March 2021, and MS had to step in to save it.

Deathloop, and any other Bethesda, ID, or Arkane game that has released or recently released isn't an MS game.

Get over it Lems, you need to wait a few years for those Bethesda MS games then you can claim your prize.

Picked this up yesterday. The wife and I played for a couple of hours and had a blast.

Reminds me of Hydro Thunder and other midway racing games from the late 90's and early 2000's.

WE NEED MORE AA GAMES LIKE THIS!!!! I get so tired of the same AAA bull all the time. Give me arcade racers and more weird goodness from developers. And not just from indies

I just bought Crusin' Blast, it's an extremely fun arcade racer (Like from a 90's arcade) and am looking forward to Hot Wheels unleashed.

Metroid Dread and Death Loop are on my list as well

@BassMan: I don't understand the whole "It's an MS exclusive studio Game" no it's not. It was paid for, developed by, and produced well before MS bought Bethesda. It has NOTHING to do with MS at all.

People realize that all the games that have released from Bethesda have nothing to do with MS right? Even the games currently being developed didn't start out with MS. In a few years when Bethesda (and all other developers under them )starts releasing games is when you can say they are MS games.

Christ people are stupid.
