@ghosts4ever: There is no discussion, Bethesda was a premier publisher (now a premier subdivision of MSGS), and has created a ton of AAA properties, which is why they were worth $7.5 billion dollars.

LMAO at all the butthurt cows in here trying to downplay Bethesda. Twitter is ripe with never ending Sony fanboy complaints that future Bethesda games won't be on Playstation.

After Fallout 76 Bethesda has a lot to prove.

Other than Doom a lot of those gamers are just really average. Looking at you Wolfenstein!

So much hate for such a wonderful new ip and fantastic developer... You people deserve all the crappy sequels big cooperate fat cats can throw at you....

Exactly what I was thinking. Finally a new IP that reviewed really well, but everyone is shitting on it.

If you have a PS5 and consider yourself a gamer please pick this game up, so we can get more good games instead of mobile or games as a service crap.

Xbox fanboys need to lay off the crack, bragging About flight simulator no one will play for more than 10 minutes

This exactly! You might play flight simulator for an afternoon, but once the novelty wares off you'll never play it again.

I doubt anyone on this board is an avid flight sim enthusiast.

@goldenelementxl: @TheEroica:

You understand MS is doing this too now right? But yes, both companies quietly let this happen, who would have thought if you didn't announce it to the world you'd get a way with it.

I just went to play mass effect legendary on my ps4 but the internet is out... Game won't launch unless there's internet...

Isn't that what Microsoft wanted to do a few e3s ago?

I was trying to tell people back in 2013 that both companies were pushing this online requirement type DRM. The Cows wouldn’t listen. It’s strange how it has come to fruition and nobody seems to care. But it sure caused a ruckus when the Xbox One was launching. Just goes to show you how important brand image and media coverage are. And how accepting PlayStation fans are.

Yes and no... There is a lot of choice out there right now, a good thing... It devalues the cost of games to consumers when there is so much content. Buying games day 1 is becoming an absurdity against value and because there is so much content you don't have to wait long to attain games at a good price.

That said, this gen is suffering (like the last) from diminishing returns. Games are feeling less and less unique and special the more they make them... I also don't like when games are built around multi-player experiences. I'm old school in that sense and so the direction of games like destiny or the division don't make me all that excited. I like focused games most.

I also should probable mention that buying multiple pieces of hardware is shit at this point. I'm tired of it. I make great money in my life and can afford to purchase these devices, but I'm not going to. Pc gets this aspect right and it's why they're the master race in a a lot of ways. You aren't gouged nearly as bad as the consoles....

Agree 100%. I understand that GamePass, PS Now, and whatever other streaming services there are are great values on paper. BUT at the same time, all of our games are devalued as hell. When DOOM is available next to hundreds if not thousands of other games at your finger tips, everything seems the same. I also feel as a gamer myself I'm not putting time or effort into games I play, because as soon as I get the slightest bit bored I move on. Which means I don't get the games' full experience.

I have had PS Plus since it came out, I have hundreds of free games to play PLUS the games I've bought, I'll try one of the free ones for 30 minutes and dip out. I know it's easy to say this is my problem, but I hate seeing the industry move towards this. Because these companies ARE keeping track of our Habits, and I know I'm not the only gamer that does this, and if we keep doing this I'm afraid the industry is going to head towards making shorter, shallower games.

I'm probably one of the few that thinks RE8 is hot garbage. They decided to mash up RE7 and RE4 and gave us something which failed to capture the best parts of either. Instead, we're left with sh*t gunplay, bullet sponge enemies, an incomprehensible story, and laughably bad dialogue (even for an RE game). At this point the creators probably throw sh*t at a wall and then say 'Mold' as a reason they can tie together each sh*t section they come up with.

"How about vampires and werewolves???"

"Is that going to work in the RE universe?"

"....Mold.....we'll say it's the mold...."

The only shining moment was the one actual 'horror' level with no weapons. The entire second half of the game is almost unplayable. The swamp is unforgettable, short, and a poor mans Fishing Hamlet, and the Heisenberg level is a slog due to the incorporation of the worst enemies in the game.

For this very reason RE7 is better. It succeeded, if not only marginally, at being a somewhat enjoyable horror game.

You hit the nail on the head, I was not impressed with RE8 at all, it essentially turned into Call of Duty towards the end.

Even the developers are on record saying they didn't want to make RE8 as scary as RE7.........so it all boils down to is RE as a franchise a Horror game or action game? They keep going back and forth and sometimes it works, like RE4, but when it misses the mark it misses bad

They should be cheaper but they never will be, we are already used to paying $60 or more for games now, there's no way it's going down now, if they could be sold for cheaper it would have been that way already.

PLUS the digital store fronts get a cut of the game cost as well, so you aren't really saving any money vs traditional disc at a retail store.

AND when the day comes that gaming goes to "services" nearly 100% you can kiss those low monthly payments good bye. I'll guarantee we'll all be paying $15 a month or more. Mark my words

I own Raystorm, Einheinder, and Ray Crisis for the PS1, each depending on the market are $200 games.
