@SOedipus: Maybe, I honestly can't remember forum users from 10 years ago all that well lol. It all starts to blend together.

I remember the names, but not much else.

It's not a black sheep, as the game is viewed very favorably. It's just hard to go back and play it because of it's age.

Zelda 2 is a better example of a black sheep, while you can argue it's a good game, it was a huge departure for the series and was generally disliked by the majority of zelda fans

I think Halo's days are long past.

With Fortnite, PUBG, and COD, and an insane amount of other online games there's just too much competition for a mediocre game, which Halo has kind of become

Brings back memories lol.

just reading through and seeing user levels and the different names for them brings back memories. levelling up only for some self important little hitler mod to knock you back down... good times lol

Wow, that does bring back memories. Whatever happened to CaseyWegner? Also - Anyone remember the Lithium forums? Those predate the forums in the link.

@SolidGame_basic

CaseyWegner....I haven't heard that name in a long time...a long long time.

If I remember correctly, He actually left during the peak of GS forums popularity. Something about not having enough time to properly monitor the forum because of his Job and Family.

Back in the day, that's something that happened every now and then. Forum members/mods would make posts saying goodbye; stating that they could no longer give the forum the adequate attention it deserved. Those were sad posts, as people really got to know one another and it was sad to see people go completely...or barely at all.

I bet if you browse that archive you might find Casey's goodbye post.

For the majority of the x’s life it’s been the same price or cheaper than the PS4 Pro and that didn’t move the needle. The X is $299 with a game right now. The Switch is $299 and killing the X. Price has little to nothing to do with it...

This is probably the best example for games over power. Both the Switch and PS4 are doing better than the X. Because of GAMES!

Mass Effect

Star Wars (Other than Fallen Order)

Devil May Cry (5 was fun, but a little shallow and I hate playing as V)

Fallout (Hate Base building in 4, 76 is yikes bad)

for a forum in 2020 this place is probably pretty active. But nothing like it used to be in the 2000's

If you're looking for a sense of community, Facebook groups, Reddit, and Discord would be better options.

I would suggest the MetalJesusRocks Discord. Pretty good community

I mean which ever console is less expensive is going to sell more in the US. Both companies know this.

If they cost the same, I could see the Xsex having a lead because of Power. But they'll probably just be neck and neck

@R4gn4r0k: As far as pixel graphics it's more of a style choice than anything else.

Also, when you really get deep into those games, you'll that just because they look like NES/SNES games, that doesn't mean those game are that limited.

Most newer pixel games will have better audio, larger worlds, better save features, and numerous visual effects not found on the Genesis/SNES.

GPU

The PS3 GFLOPs was 252.

The PS4 is 1.84 TFLOPs.

Difference is ~7.3x

The PS5 is 10.2 TFLOPS

Difference to the PS4 5.6x

Difference to the PS4 Pro 2.4x

Developers did take advantage of the additional power. Stating just a resolution bump as if an increase in resolution doesn't warrant additional power is silly. So, in terms of the GPU the PS5 is not a more substantial jump from PS3 to PS4. It is a smaller jump and even smaller jump from the Pro to PS5.

Memory

PS3 512MB

PS4 8GB

PS5 16GB

8x to 2x. The jump again is substantially smaller than the jump from the PS3 to PS4.

CPU

This was is a bit tricky because of the cell but its my under upgrade was not much but the upgrade to the Zen 2 is going to be around 4x faster. This is one area in which the upgrade from PS4 to PS5 is going to be greater than the PS3 to PS4.

This

The leap isn't as big as people think.
