Most wars are for greed....very few for religious reasons...nonetheless the key component to conflict is that humans exist.LJS9502_basic
I agree, i'm just saying the atrocities of the Chinese communists cannot be compared with the atrocities of religious fanatics because the crackdown in Tibet wasn't committed in the name of atheism.

Don't forget atheists or people who don't believe in God who went around killing Buddhists because of their religion like the Chinese government crackdown on Buddhists in Tibet because the Chinese government hates Buddhists.Xtasy26
Unless the Chinese were killing in the name of atheism (if it's possible) you can't compare it, most of those religious massacres and wars are indeed a product of religion because the people who committed those atrocities acted on behalf of the holy book on which their whole religion is founded on.

I'm just saying it's flawed to only want to help the disaster victims and not others who are equally in need.sonicare
Yes i agree, people don't notice the everyday tragedy of life because it's common but they notice epic disasters because they are not. Sort of reminds of people who vow to change the world after watching an inspirational movie or documentary but then go on with their everyday lives the next day.

I guess it's all perspective. I agree that logic is flawed, but sometimes when people see an epic disaster it motivates them more than the mundane downside of everyday life.

I don't think that logic is flawed at all. When most people see beggars and poor people they say "oh well, that's life", but when disaster strikes they all seem to notice.

I used to post QualiaSoup videos to religious zealots, he explains simple things in a simple way. Didn't help for some reason...
