Like many things, Metroid seemed to have lost its spark when it went to 3D and became a FPA. If you want to see what made Metroid games so great, check out the 2D Castlevania games on the PS2, GBA and DS. PikaPichu

Thus the horrid score it received, right?

[QUOTE="CR00K"]Sonic and the Secret Rings looks like it could be the best Sonic in YEARS. I really hope it does good. (Though I won't be able to play it.)SyluxElite
It looks good but what the hell is wrong with the music? :?

Cow: "ZOMG! THE PS3 WILL WIN BECAUSE IT HAS BLU-RAY!"
Me: The PS2 had an AFFORDABLE DVD player. The PS3 is anything but affordable. Plus if you don't have an HDTV (which most people don't) you don't notice between DVD and BD.

Me: no company has been more dominent in the gaming industry then sony. There fanbase is well over 100 million, all they need is half of that and theyll most likely win. thread/over

Me: 100 million casuals will not shell out $599 plus $ in games for a PS3. 100 million casuals do not own HDTVs meaning that the PS3 is basically a blue-ray player, which will also fail as a media format (at least this generation) thread/over based on cold-hard economics.

Me: i never said 100 million will buy a ps3, if a little less then half of the people who bought ps2s buy a ps3, the ps3 will win most likely.

Then don't use 100 million as a valid number. The PS3 has only sold a little over 2 mil whereas the Wii has already sold over 4 million, and I know people personally that are still looking for one. I don't know a single person that owns a PS3. And I knew a lot of people that owned PS2s. Most them now either own a 360 a Wii or both. Bottom-line, $599 is a ridiculous price that pushes casuals away. Until they lower the price, it is going to have a rough time.

[QUOTE="okthenbye1"][QUOTE="mtcoola"]1. Is metroid really that big of a system seller?
2. How does a delay=bad?
okthenbye1

The original did sell many gamecubes as it was considered the best game of the year it was released. It drove a more matture audience into buying GCs. And a delay = bad because the good game drought continues.

I would rather have a few decent games coming out with a few amazing ones here and there instead of them being bum rushed like they were the GC games, all the great games were near the beginning and middle of the consoles life.

No Nintendo should have prepared and planned their games more carefully instead of doing a "Gamecube" and having only a few decent games at launch then a year full of shovel ware until the big guns come out a year later. I'd rather have a consistent line-up of AAA games or AA that are original. Not all this shovelware stuff.

If my memory serves me correctly, the 360 had the same drought for almost an entire year.

GRAW and The Elder Scrolls in March (both AAA). Wii has nothing that touches either of those games.

Maybe not in terms of hardcore games, but the Wii is aiming for a different target at the moment. People who have enjoyed Wii Sports will be looking for another casual title, and here is where games like Godfather and SSX come into play. If Nintendo can secure a huge user base by the times these huge hits come around, they will have gotten a huge profit indeed. So while you are correct, there are not many great games out right now, wait and see once a large user-base has been established. The same thing happened with the DS. Besides, there is still about a 1.5 tie in rate with Wii to Zelda, which whether you want to argue it or not, is AAA. The Wii is doing far better than the 360 was at this same time.

So basically Wii has nothing. Thanks for reminding me of what garbage Wii is.

You are thinking like a hardcore gamer. Not as a casual gamer. The Wii has plenty of games that will satisfy the average gamer, but we have a few months before some really good titles come out. Garbage nothing, only to you. Over 4 million casuals would disagree with you.

[QUOTE="diggyzoom"]Zelda TP for the Wii.

4Swords

The metal gear solid series.

But it's so entertaining watching 20 minute intros to boss fights followed by 20 minute speeches from the dying boss talking about his/her meaningless life...NOT

No other game can give you the feel of being in a movie like MGS at least the 2nd. Although if you skip cutscenes it could be completed in 2 hours...

I'll go see a movie if I want to see a movie. I bought my older brother MGS3 and we both got pissed because we had to watch a 15 minute intro movie. Then, just when we think we are going to be able to play the game, that stupid com-link thing comes on and Snake talks to this woman for another 10 minutes. Garbage.

maybe you should give capcom a call since you seem to know more about nintendos demographic than they do?

capcom:By and large, I don't see the Wii being home to a sizeable mature playerbase outside of some of the early adopters. I see it as being very, very broad with a family focus. If there is a "core player base" on Wii (and it might be so broad, there might be no such thing as "core"), within two years, it will probably be largely a younger player

Misunderstanding what is being said FTW!!!

Humm I didn't get a chance to read that article, nice. That sounds much better then the fanboy translation I heard.

Not many people read the follow-up...
I'd much rather have a game like Okami over Lost Planet anyways.

Yep... and everyone in between.

no not really

great reply seriously, the wii can appeal to everyone, just because you can't be basiclly a vegetable while playing doesn't mean it's only for little kids.
