Self explanatory. Does epic know something we don't?

Lines up with rumors from last year that Bungie was in talks multiple times to be reacquired. But lets not count chickens until they hatch.

Instead, lets all bask in the fact that Sony literally never gets fun, interesting rumors like this. Its fun, because whether it happens or not, it is absolutely a very possible thing, and Cows know it.

Sony's rumors aren't even fun to pontificate about as an intellectual exercise. Sony's rumors/speculation and even their "news" is all weaksauce shit like "firewalk studios". Or "haven". Or a rumored Silent Hill or MGS remake by Blupoint (with neither being developed by Kojima, if its even real).

The total is 97? What was it before? How big of an increase it this? Did it double the amount of boosted games?

I believe they added 70 games in this recent drop.

Bethesda didn't develop most of the games you posted.

Bethesda Softworks subsidiaries developed every game posted.

I hear this and similar sentiment alot from Cows. 10 of the games in the above image are from the PS4/Xbox One generation. 8 of them were within the past 5 years (though Elsweyr and TEW:The Assignment are expansions). And 2 of specifically those 8 games were even nominated for GOTY.

I know Cows have a newfound ambivalence towards Bethesda (despite Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo making early cameos on PS5 list wars, and Sony being impressed enough by Starfield, that they wanted it to be exclusive) but now, its stepping into the realm of delusion. I've seen some pretty nonsensical takes about how Bethesda is "on the decline" and its best days are behind them, etc.....and I figured I'd just drop into System Wars, and turn sideways and dick-smack Cows for a little bit. And remind everyone what an absolute force this publisher is.

Can we just talk about the fact that best-in-class games of 3 seperate videogame genres are represented in the photo above? WRPG, FPS, and IMMERSIVE SIMS?.

All 3 of those genres represent huge blindspots in Playstations portfolio. Microsoft basically owns the entire Mount Rushmore of WRPGs and FPS. And they own basically the only (still currently active) developer of immersive sims of prominence right now in Arkane Lyon and Arkane Austin.

While most of Playstation's exclusives have 3rd party market substitutes that you can get the same experience (and in some cases better) from......

  • Spiderman? Lower metacritic score than EVERY Batman Arkam game. Batman has better combat, atmosphere, sandbox, story, etc....
  • Ghost of Tsushima? just an Assassins Creed game with prettier graphics.
  • Horizon? Just 3rd person Far Cry with prettier graphics.
  • Gran Turismo? the audience for this game belongs to Forza.

You will NEVER get a market substitute on Playstation for Starfield or Elder Scrolls this gen. Or Avowed. Or Fable. Or Perfect Dark. Or InXile's game. Or Machine Game's game. Or Arkane's next games.

Look, I know Fallout 76 was trash, as much as the next guy, but I've seen people here suggest genuinely that Fallout 4 was trash, and that Starfield (if it indeed launches this year) wont be the biggest game of 2021. And that Elder Scrolls, the sequel to one of the highest selling games of all time, wont absolutely be the biggest game in whatever year it choses to launch in.

Anyways, just had to jump into SW, and set straight the delusional takes I've seen WRT Bethesda's quality, and output.

Thats it. that's the thread.

Alternate headline: There are 97 old Xbox games sporting shitty resolutions on new hardware

Aren't you playing a next gen exclusive game at 1080p that can't maintain 60FPS?😂

a 1080p image Temporally Reconstructed to 1440p which is THEN Checkerboard Rendered at "4k" ontop of that. Yikes 🤣

@sheevpalpamemes: Lol. Sony makes a deal with Discord, MS buys a publishing house.

This. All this news tells us is that no matter what Sonys fanboys want you to believe, no matter all the returnal/ratchet masturbation and the "sony greatness bay-beee!!!" nonsense you see on twitter, Sony was absolutely scrambling (to some degree) behind the scenes over the past couple weeks reguarding Microsoft's reported near-acquisition of Discord.

This could have ended VERY badly for them if that marriage ended up being one huge party that Sony was not invited to. And I absolutely guarrantee you there were late night meetings at Sony over this. Again, this is proof of that. For more proof, look above in this very thread to see how excited Cows are over this.

Look, no "one" factor by itself is going to change the course of system wars, but you can be certain that Sony is breathing a sigh of relief after this.

https://majornelson.com/fpsboost/

Update: (May 03, 2021) Today, we released our largest drop of games featuring FPS Boost to date, bringing the total titles boosted to 97, many of which are included in Xbox Game Pass and EA Play (included with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription).

There are now 97 titles on the Xbox Series X/S that support FPS Boost. Meanwhile, Sony cant even figure out how to get the PS5 to play the PS5 versions of games. Or transfer your save data. #Dumbdelivery in action.

This will be an awesome game for 2027

Nice to have something to look forward to though isn't it.

He likes having something to complain about. 😂

I cant imagine it will be easy for Cows, considering that Sony has virtually no roadmap at all outside of Horizon and God of War.

And both of those are PS4 cross-gen titles, so no Ultra-Fast SSD magic for you. Basically, you can expect an effective 4 year+ sabbatical from NaughtyDog, Sucker Punch, and Bend Studios. You wont be hearing from them for a very long time, outside of TLOU Factions 2, and a rumored Socom live service game directed by the R6 Siege lead (and we know Cows hate live service multiplayer games).

It must suck seeing that the entire industry is on the edge of their seat waiting to see what Microsoft's next moves are going to be. like:

  • What is Fable/Perfect Dark, Starfield, Avowed, Elder Scrolls, Everwild, etc going to look like? Indiana Jones? InXile's game? DoubleFine's game? Compulsion's game? Arkane Austin's next game?
  • What are the almost certainly next studio acquisitions going to be?
  • What's the next publisher acquisition going to be?
  • Is Kojima working with Xbox?
  • What 3rd party multiplat is going day and date on GamePass?

So many questions, and with Sony, there's nothing to even speculate or pontificate about as an intellectual exercise. Even their RUMORS are boring lol.

The best thing Sony could do to stimulate their base was:

  1. announce a reactionary partnership with Jade Raymond (who hasn't shipped a game since 2014) 3 weeks after leaving Google Stadia. Didn't even have a logo for the studio. Like, did you even lease office space yet, my guy?
  2. Announce another reactionary partnership with some nobody studio made up of 20 people, who's name is so inconsequential it escapes me even now. Apparently some of them worked at Bungie or something. But there's open air speculation that Microsoft could re-buy the actual Bungie, so thats far more interesting.

Let Cows have their week with Returnal and Ratchet. They're going to need them.

Fantastic month if true. 2 AAA titles given away completely free to PS5 owners. The lemming manchildren are happy with their Lego Batman though. Microsoft knows their fanbase well. Manchild I Cry Daily already loves his Lego Forza

So everyone wins. PS5 owners get real games while 40+ year old lemmings pretend they are still 5 years old.

So cows excited about Ratchet are mocking Lego. You couldn't make it up. XD

Also Lego Batman on Metacritic: 76

Godfall on Metacritic: 61

Seems odd for grown adults who cap for Ratchet, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Sackboy Adventure, and a game with the word "playroom" in the title to throw stones, but I digress.....

On topic:

I bought Disco Elysium: The Final Cut day one and haven't even booted it up yet lol.

I feel stupid for not just waiting now. I now know how Cows feel seeing all this GamePass love lmao.

I noticed this a few weeks ago. That FF13 was never ported or remastered. Other notable exclusions include Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

Also Red Dead Redemption, which considering the game was never ported to PC, is basically an Xbox exclusive now (unless you want to use Sony's trash streaming service built on infrastructure from the onlive-era and ancient PS3 blade servers based on 2006 tech, yikes)

What is even more flooring is the fact that you cannot play ANY of the older God of War games outside of 3 (which was remastered) on a modern Playstation console. Or any of the Ratchet and Clank games. How that is not utterly unacceptable to Cows is beyond me, but hey, they dont care about old games They absolutely fucking love remasters though. holy chiet do they love remasters.
