The concern over the storage space for these consoles is a non issue, IMO.

The Series X/S both support the use of external HDD out of the box for cold storage. You can install any game to any HDD. Im not sure about the PS5, but I presume the same will be true as well. And if it isn't, it will likely be supported via update in the near future.

There are 8TB external HDDs for like $140. $80 cheaper than the expandable SSD storage cards for the Series X/S. Thats why I never understood the weird whining about the expansion card prices on here (not accusing you, TC). Just buy an external HDD with 8 times as much space, pocket that extra $80, and swap your games out when you arent playing them, but dont want to delete them. Thats what I intend to do.

Again, the same applies for PS5 for me. Why waste money on an NVME to store backlog games you're fooling yourself into thinking you're going to return to one day, but havent booted up since 2014?

The whole conversation around launch library and 1st year titles is strange. None of those games you are bragging about are going to be talked about even two years from now. When the gen is over, and you look back over the last 5-7 years, you arent going to be talking about Miles Morales, Ratchet and Clank, Sackboy adventure, and Demons Souls remake. You guys arent even going to be talking about the DeathLoop and Ghostwire Tokyo games you guys pretended to be excited for because they were exclusives. This launch lineup is Infamous: Second Son, Killzone Shadowfall, Knack, and Driveclub all over again.

I would wager, however, that games such as Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield will end up on retrospective lists the next decade over. But yeah, nothing of ANY consequence is coming for either platform before 2022.

It was a smart move of Microsoft to brand their upgrade strategy, with "Smart Delivery" to even further draw contrast between theirs and PlayStation.

This poll was done 10 days ago

2 days after that poll MS announced it was buying Bethesda, so ign did a new poll asking a VERY specific question

So the numbers dropped for Sony and raised for MS due to MS buying Bethesda.

If you could only learn how to comprehend what you read, proofs all there, so its a resounding YES.

No wonder why i don't respond to you, it was all there in my first post, smh.

One poll has 33k and the other 54k there are 21k more voters in the ultimate poll that in the old one where is the proof that people who voted now to get a series X vote for the PS5 or even vote at all.

The sample on the second poll is considerably bigger by the way IGN is a US oriented site by the way were the race is closer.

You proved nothing.

28,147.2 People who voted for the PS5 in the last poll.

21,803.904 People who voted for the PS5 in the first poll.

As you can see both options won more votes the xbox simply won more but those were newer votes not votes that were already in so you have no argument.

You have been posting these nonsensical IGN polls, and random social media engagement metrics that favored PS5 for months 🤣😁. You dont get to hide behind sample sizes, and scientific accuracy now.

You clearly believed the polls were scientific enough to constantly post them here. Same goes for @Sagemode87. Here's him shitposting that first IGN poll in a thread of mine unrelated to the thread topic just 8 days ago, on the day of the acquisition. Thats before this new poll came out. He intended that as an "own" or a gotcha, unironically. So it is absolutely clear that you Cows care about these IGN polls and believe them to be valuable metrics of consumer interest. Dont run from that shit now my guy.

@StrongDeadlift: you guys are like a sports team that keeps saying we'll get em next time. Sit down, Lems are the Cleveland Browns now. Sony isn't going to just sit on their ass and not create their own content that will sway people. You're forgetting that most people don't even know about this acquisition. People will get Playstation because it's the bigger brand.

Phil Spencer didn't announce this acquisition on Inside Xbox, Xbox Wire, Twitter, E3, or even on IGN. He went on CNBC Squawk Alley at the open of the stock market, and announced it to a mainstream news watching audience of potential investors. It was the second largest acquisition in the history of the gaming industry, and was widely covered by mainstream and Tech media that usually don't cover gaming.

I think people outside of internet forums know about this, lol.

@SecretPolice: listen to yourselves. You guys went from trying to actually compete to "look, we're losing but by just a bit less than before" Pathetic...

not "a bit less". Literally more than half less than last week. What do you think is going to happen to that "gap" in the future?

This entire gen all lemmings have been saying is "Just Wait' for so and such to come out. now its "Just wait" until start field to come out. do they ever get tired of waiting?

Can you prove these claims with links or are you talking out of your arse AGAIN?

What i see is the PS5 at 51.2% & the Xbox Series X/S at 33.6, with 15% buying both.

18% difference between buying one over the other, a big swing.

That's since your last thread which was just before the Bethesda buy out. it read

PS5 at 64.8% Xbox Series X/S at 27.7% with 7.4% buy both.

A massive 37.1% difference between buying one over the other.

So MS is catching up, and the Bethesda buy out is moving the needle, and once MS confirms you cows won't get any Bethesda games the needle will move more in the both column.

So this is a classic thread backfire lol.

Correction, Its a 19.5% differance actually.

But seriously, the the headline here is that.......in one fell swoop, Microsoft just permanently evaporated %19.5 of Playstation's mindshare lead. The lead is literally less than HALF of what it was in second poll you linked.

Think about that........... literally overnight, more than half of Sony's mindshare lead was Thanos snapped away. And thats only after the first acquisition lol. Phil Spencer, Aaron Greenberg, and even the CEO of the motherfucking company himself even said they arent done. 🤣

And not a single Cow can say anything about the scientific accuracy of these IGN audience polls, because Tormentos and BenjaminBanklin have been posting them here for months.

Aaron Greenberg even said they have more bullets in the chamber. This isnt even the last PUBLISHER they are buying, let alone studio. They've been linked credibly to Sega, and there have been numerous reports for the past two years of Phil going shopping in both Japan, and Poland (perhaps the Poland studio is that gigantic one that they currently have the marketing rights to that HUGE upcoming game thats right around the corner with, and a special edition console, thats also the biggest player in the genre MS are now positioning themselves to be dominant in, and one of the only TWO studios in that genre they dont own yet...I forget the name of that studio....)

Hell, there is even smoke with Bungie. Imagine whats going to happen when the salvoes actually start flying?

Cows are in for a long gen, lol 😁

Used to be 2:1

And it will get worse for Sony when the Bethesda games start rolling out....

So Sony has until 2024 to start sweating.

Imagine thinking games that have been in full production since 2015, and were revealed two years ago, wont be here until 2024, but believing you're getting Horizon and Jpeg of War next year 🤣.

@i_p_daily: Even if they have nothing promised, they just spent $7bn on Zenimax, they're going to release the games on spendcapped service on PC and Xbox along with all their other studios' games. They're still going to cut out all those users who would buy those games? I'll be looking forward to hearing that conversation with investors in their earnings calls!

No they're not cutting out those users (cows) who buy those games, it means those users (cows) would need a PC or Xbox to play these games, and thus bringing in more gamer's to its ecosystem.

MS are pushing Game Pass hard and with a 50% jump in subscribers in the last 6 months this deal will not only keep those customers but will be attracting more.

Investors, now you're reaching lol.

Cows and the whole "investors" and "profitability" thing always makes me laugh lol. Cows have been swearing up and down for years that Microsoft doesnt care about Xbox, investors are breathing down Satya's neck to cut it lose, MS will never open the warchest/acquire anyone, they dont care about Gaming enough."All they go after are small financially struggling devs, etc...... ".

The entire premise of Cows and their MS pocketwatching arguement hinges on an artificial handicap Cows have arbitrarily imposed on MS, that doesnt actually exist in the real world. This arguement that Microsoft would never use their resources for Xbox because "they dont make that much off the xbox division" is stupid, and Cows have literally been wrong on every prediction they've made about what Microsoft will and wont do, for the past 3 years. Literally every single thing, lol. Cows, you have zero credibility anymore.

That $7.5 Billion? That $7.5 is a tax write off for MS. They could, quite frankly, accidentally drop that on the sidewalk without noticing, and still post record profits on their next quarterly report. If TWO things have been made absolutely clear, is that

  • Microsoft does not care about making a profit right now off of Xbox. These are long term moves.
  • Microsoft values the Xbox division, and views access to this install base as important for the future of the company.

I wouldn't be surprised if that entire $50 billion they were prepared to blow on the TikTok deal that fell through, has now been entirely earmarked for Xbox.

cows have 2 choices

pretend all the new xbox studios games are crap..to ease the pain of losing a shit load of games from their console

or

buy a Serious S

its nice to pretend

hah

Or become PC gamers again, and pretend they "dont care either way" like they all did during the PS3/360 era.

Gamepass is irrelevant and they "dont care" about it, but they all claim to have "finessed" the system, done every backflip through every hoop, jumped on every bootleg back alley deal and claim they've all stocked up the next 10 years of this irrelevant service they "dont care about" for $1, and think they've "gotten one over" on Microsoft 🤣

Microsoft doesnt care if PS fans play on Xbox. Even if you play their games on PC while sulking, they want you NOT playing on Playstation, as long as possible. Anything that forces you OFF of Playstation, benefits them. That includes Xbox Series X, Series S, Gamepass, PC, or Xcloud. This was Microsoft's doctrine during the 360 era, and this is a return to form. .

@fedor: you need to realize you're still playing catch up to Playstation. There's no humility with you guys. I enjoy Bethesda games. If they're only on Xbox, I'll buy an Xbox.Your heads are getting too big though as Playstation will be just fine without these games.Good luck to MS recouping that investment.

1. All games will be on PC, Gamepass, and Xcloud.

2. Then PS won't get the games.

3. They'll easily recoup without putting games on PS.

4. I'm happy you abandoned your "Hurr Durr, these games aren't even a big deal" argument that held 0 weight.

5. Who's "you guys"?

That was a stupid arguement from him lol. Skyrim sold 30 million. The recent Switch port even sold millions. Elder Scrolls VI not being on Playstation is like Red Dead Redemption 2 not being on Playstation.

If they think that Elder Scrolls and Fallout not being on Playstation will hurt Elder Scrolls and Fallout MORE than it hurts Playstation, then Cows have a massively overstated sense of how much clout they think the Playstation brand has.

Do they think the Playstation logo alone is the reason people buy the platform? People go where the games go, and if the games that dominate the cultural zeitgeist go to the other platform, then the zeitgeist will SHIFT to favor that other platform. If you want a case study to prove that, then look no further than the PS3/360 era. Hell, he even says himself in his own words that he will buy the other platform to play those games.

Remember how embattled the PS3 was all gen by the narrative that ALL of the biggest games that dominated the cultural zeitgeist were either 360 exclusives, or multiplats that favored the 360? That PS3 was the worst place to play the biggest games like GTAIV, Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, etc...? Yea, that was with PS3 still actually getting those games.

Now, I'm not going to get ahead of myself and say that this destroys Playstation, they'll be fine (for now) but to deny that this absolutely offsets the first party delta between Playstation and Xbox is dishonest.

And no, I don't think this ONE deal turns the tide around. But its only ONE deal. Its one domino.

You didnt expect 3 days ago to live in a world where Microsoft owns:

  • Bethesda

If you woke up next week in a world where Microsoft now owned:

  • Bethesda
  • Sega
  • From Software
  • CDPR
  • Bungie

If Cows think these studios games need the PS4/PS5 install base MORE than Playstation needs to have these games for its install base..........then Cows are in for a rude awakening, lol. PS3 Part 2: REDUX
