Holy shit, if true lol. Nintendo, why is every single thing you do ridiculous?

Also, this is assuming that this rumor is reguarding the console, and not a handheld. Because a console as weak as the Xbox One that is not only 3 years old, but the tech it uses was itself 3 years old when the console launched (and toned down) is rediculous. Also, wireless HDMI? Again, if this is for a console and not a handheld, then dear god Nintendo are cartoon characters at this point lmao.

Why Nintendo? Why do you insist on handicapping yourselves with cartoonish unnecessary bottlenecks that noone asked for, dont benefit you in any way, and that will ultimately hurt/cost you?

You've done this every gen. being stubborn and sticking with expensive and low storage capacity cartridges (N64) that led to you losing FF7, most 3rd parties, and handing your dominant position to Sony,

your unnecessary desicion to use miniDVD on gamecube causing you to miss out on most 3rd parties? Fucking stop it. We dont need nipple tassles as controllers. STAHP please Nintendo.

You set out with the Wii and Wii U to make sure you were different. That you were seperate from the pack. That you were the outliers. Well you're endeavors, Nintendo, have been a resounding success. You are, unequivocally, the outlier to the rest of the industry.

To me, this new "Open world is the new "linear corridor shooter"" thing is a false equivalency created by gamers, because gamers NEED something to complain about, and the thing we all hated last gen (linear corridor wack-a-mole TPS) arent as prominent anymore.

Its like a person who regularly sleeps with Victoria Secret models, complaining that the women he sleeps with are "too beautiful". We're getting everything we want now, and we've run out of targets to hate, so now some people are starting to prop up sandbox/open worlds to fill that role.

Still need to do Season 2, how was that?

It was great. Even better than season 1, imo.

Season 2 was free on PS+ a few months ago.

This forum just isn't active the way it used to be, plus this forums fighting game community is limited to like me, onesan when he makes guest appearances and like 2 other people. Hence the lack of Street Fighter V stuff, speaking of which I do need to be buying a new arcade stick.

Honestly, it seems like this forum's activity was decimated (I.E. reduced to a tenth) ever since the site redesign a few years ago. That seemed like the catalyst. Hype threads back in the day used to get north of 10,000 posts each, in a matter of days. Some were like 300+ pages, and moved so fast you couldnt even keep up. Go look at the MGS4 and GTA4 hype threads.

Now go look up the hype/launch threads of the PS4/XB1, and see how dead they were in comparison.

Same with most E3 threads (that predate the update). You can easily follow an E3 thread (during E3) now.

You get covered in blood if you have more than 50,000 demon points, which you get from killing to many soldiers. (building a nuke instantly gives you 50,000 demon points). Disarming 10 nukes will remove 30,000 demon points.

MGS5

mired in sub par gameplay

got away with it because they were open world

**** all the way off, op.

MGSV in terms of pure gameplay mechanics alone, sandbox, and emergent gameplay, had the best gameplay loop in not only the series, but of any game that came out last year.

Agree with other games up there though, such as Witcher 3 getting away with assbutter gameplay becuz "teh open woarlds, I can do so many things". It just devolves into a game where you're just "doing" a series of "stuff", things that you dont care about.

walking animations are assbutter (yes, I used assbutter twice), and he always overshoots where you want to move, etc.....I have no idea how the hell this game mopped up so many GOTYs and 10s. Bought it day one, and put it down after the griffin boss fight, and picked it back up a few days ago, and that shit is still boring. Even MGSV, with the entire third act ripped out of the game, had more substance.

I also dissagree about this overall "open world games are the opposite extreme to linear games". Its still the most flexible format for creating and telling a story in this medium (short of interactive Telltale-style games). When you can have games with as diverse worlds as GTAV, Red Dead Redemption, and L.A. Noire, all made by the same developer, all use the same format, but are all very contrasting atmospheres. What we had before, was every game trying to be a Gears of War cardboard wack-a-mole clone, and that was a far more creatively limiting format for diverse experiences. Example, see Uncharted. The storytelling the series HAS/WANTS to have does not match up with the context of the gameplay you're doing, because they had to shoehorn it into a Gears of War mold. Also, see The Order 1886. Basically, if Uncharted was more like MGS5 and less like Gears, the industry would be better for it.

Part of me thinks this false dichotamy is because gamers need to complain about something. The biggest thing we all complained about last gen is gone.

So over the past couple weeks, I've been powering through every telltale series. I've completed The Walking Dead seasons 1 and 2, The Wolf Among Us, and Tales From The Borderlands.

Im about to start on both Minecraft Story Mode and Game of Thrones. Which do you guys recommend more between the two?

You know its bad when you could, without hyperbole, buy a PS2 + all of those games for less than half the price of everything in the OP.

$15 a piece for PS2 Grand Theft Autos? Dafuq? You can get all of them shits on your kitchen appliances for like $5 each, for the past several years.
