I thought it was really fun. The first time i played it i was a little let down, the controls were hard to get used to and they dont give you a clear reason on what to do. But i gave it another go, just layed out some massacre for 30 mins and had a blast. I dont think ill buy it on day one, but when it comes down 20 bucks or so ill buy it. It seems like the game mercs 2 should have been.
It was forgotten because it was a one day thing, just like how no one even remembers or brings up how the zune had the exact same enternal clock problem as the ps3, and like the ps3, it went back to normal after a day. Hell the only people who even bring up RROD are fanboys or xbox owners that are pissed because it just happened to them. RROD is still a major issue, but we all know about it, and most people who buy an xbox now know of the problem but dont think its worth passing up on the system for. It has already been discussed to death, no one cares anymore.
I feel like the development time for game is too short for this game unless they were working on this game while they were working on MAG, which the thought of that bothers me seeing that MAG could of been a lot better. Diviniuz
They have two teams. They said they've been working on this for awhile, which doesnt surprise me. Back before Confrontation was released slant six released a vid of them recording sounds for guns in Socom confrontation, but only about 15 guns made it into socom confrontation, my guess is that zipper will be using the rest of those sounds.
It is huge for me. Socom is a great game, and now that the original devs are back at work bringing a singleplayer and multiplayer experience, its going to be something special. Slant six did a ok job with socom confrontation, the launch was rushed and it had tons of problems, but it was still a fun game. Zipper wont make the mistakes they did, socom fans rejoyce!
The whole reason the game kept me hooked was because my decisions mattered. The story was decent, the voice acting a little spotty at times, and the graphics were great. The thing that made this game so compelling was how much your choices actually mattered. Im so used to messing up in games and getting the option to restart the level, but in heavy rain when you mess up, you have to live with your choice.
I already plan on replaying soon, possibly before GOW 3 comes out.
I havent played to many sci fi games this gen. Mass Effect, killzone 2 i guess is sci fi. Thats about it. If anything i want some more sci fi games, which is why ill be picking up mass effect soon.
I wish more games would go with more unique settings. Greed Corp for example has a really interesting setting, i really would love a full fledged RTS or something in that universe.
I think it might be a PSN game. Their North Carolina team is working on it and from what i recall they have a much smaller team then the ratchet/resistance teams.
