@v8p: I think Troy Baker was fine but the dead pan voice of Kiefer Sutherland killed it for me. Not to mention the coined terms Wolbachia and Vocal Cord Parasites coming out of Code Talker's mouth every 5 seconds.. way worse than Naomi Hunter and her Nanomachines, son.
To me, having notable actors do motion capture is silly and costly. Even more so, having screen actors do voice overs for a game, unless they have unique voices (Steve Busemi, Pixar VAs, Others), is a huge waste of potential and again costly.
@phoenix1289: It says that but when do they get their money back? A day after the game is complete? A year?
Valve has become their own bank. Take your money, investing it elsewhere, gain interest, give your original 'donation' back. When it was green-lit, the $100 went to 'charity'. Now it may cost more to 'publish' a game on steam. $100-$5000. If they are just going to charge $100 again, what would be the point to change the system in the first place? Think about that.. there wouldn't be.
This is for Valves benefit and little else.
Anyway, I don't believe it will increase the amount of garbage because 'creators' will be more cautious when having to front more money, even if they do eventually get it back.
