Yeah, I am sure you guys have seen many of these blogs floating around :P But before I get into it, I would like to say that I am done for the semester :D And yeah, more gaming for me 8)

MS Conference: I didn't get a chance to see this live, and had to see it after. But once I did, I was... disappoint. Just to reinact the conference:

"Here's gears, halo, COD, here are some other games and ZOMG KINECT!!! You can play Sport, video chat, play with animals, exercise, dance and much more!!!! Kinect = Best Thing Eva!!! Oh BTW, new 360 Kthxbai"

The main problem was Kinect. I don't mind promoting a product but they seemed to go out of their way to push it down our throats for the most part. It dragged too long, and nothing really new was announced apart from right at the very end when the new 360 was shown. It seems like MS is trying too hard to destroy Nintendo when they can't. It is too late into the party and what the hell is wrong with your hardcore/elite crowd? I know MS is a money craving company, probably why you and Activision get on so well, but seriously why do you have to jump ship on us? Wow, this has become a rant instead of an impression, apologies... :oops:

The games that were shown, Halo Reach, Gears, COD wasn't really that impressive either. Gears was gears, Halo was Halo, and well you get the point. I have no interest of the casual Kinect games that were shown. The only game that I must admit looked cool was the new Star Wars game. Screw dancing and playing sports, I want a dual with Darth Vader! Overall, a pretty weak conference with only a few games standing out that were overshadowed my the Kinect.

Nintendo Conference: It is up to debate which conference was better, Nintendo or Sony? But to me, Nintendo took the cake, which is a surprise considering I had a very low expectation for Nintendo's conference. I was expecting them to go on about how their motion controls have bought older and younger people alike into gaming. But this wasn't the case, in fact they focused on probably the ONLY thing that would convince me to buy a Wii... Nostalgia.

So many returns, and surprises at the conference that conference that I just can't name all of them because I know I will forget at least one game. But what really caught my attention is one game in particular, Donkey Kong Country Returns. Just to give you idea on how much of a DKC fan I am, only just recently I bought out the SNES to replay the DKC trilogy and I was going to dedicate a whole tribute blog to it. Yes, the tribute was originally planned for the DKC series! I honestly have to get a Wii now as this is a dream come true. I do have mixed feeling about the Goldeneye remake, but hope that it turns out great. I can say now, that it will not live up to the first game, but hope it does turn out well.

The 3DS looks great as well. I have never bought a console on launch, but I am really considering it for the console. Not only does it have great graphics, and great features but the game lineup is really strong for it! I have been gaming for a long time, and the SNES and N64 era was probably the golden age of gaming for me personally. However, I do understand that the newer generation may not relate to these game as much as I have, hence why it is understandable for one to take the Sony Conference as the better conference. :)

Sony Conference: The Sony conference was actually really good as well. I was a bit concerned it would lead down the same path as the MS conference with the Move but this wasn't the case. The announcement of Twisted Metal was a great surprise, but overall the Sony conferences are usually great. The showcase of upcoming games plus a little bit of humour is always a safe conference. I liked the way that the Sony conference did break things up, and it wasn't unbalanced like the MS Conference. Like Kinect, the Move doesn't have much of my interest at the moment. But there are 2 main reasons why I pick on the Kinect more than the Move, and that being:

1) It didn't take up the most part of the conference.

2) The games that were shown looked much better. (my personal opinion)

Overall great conference from Sony.

Yeah, included with the Update blog, I thought I would also update you guys on what will be happening in a separate blog. :)

Well firstly not back just yet! I have 2 exams to go, one being on a Tuesday, and the other being on a Thursday... smack in the middle of E3. So unlikely I might be able to catch it live :( I managed to get a hold of ME2 the other day, but haven't been able to play it because my mind has been set on studying. Well not entirely, I am writing this blog aren't I? :P However, I don't want to have any distractions and an RPG such as ME2 will frustrate me if there is a big gap between playing it and other things, hard to explain. :oops:

Anyway, once that has finished, I will be back to blogging, blog comments, and will be my trigger happy poster self :P I have had quite a lot of ideas for my blogs, I want to do 3 top 10 lists, a tribute, and a CYDG along with my updates and regular blogs :)

I have one week break, exams (which I am actually not too concerned about for once) and then I have holidays yay! :D

Sorry for not commenting on blogs as of late (I did try to but fell behind a lot) and yes, if I got a penny for every time I have said that, I would be rich by now. :P

And just to keep you updated on what has been happening in my life, well nothing really, been battling first semester of university, and by battling, I mean breezing through, and as of my personal achievement/trophy list, I have made quite a bit of progress on that, hopefully make an update soon :)

Oh and I have made an alternative GS account (not exactly sure why) and not exactly sure why I am even mentioning it. But if you see a new account in the forums, it could very well be SI's alternative account, remember that :P

So expect new blogs, new updates, new top 10 lists, new reviews and new choose your destiny's... soon :P

I am sure a quite a few of you know what I am talking about, and I finally I have fulfilled both the trophy and the achievement! :D

I though about who I would target and I decided to target past GS users who have rather:

1) Left GS
2) Rarely visit GS anymore
3) Did not comment on my blog revealing that they know nothing about this mission.

The only flaw with number 3 is if they do check my blog but just don't comment... but I thought I would take my chances :P

Anyway, here are the people who I pranked :twisted:

On the PS3:

-Masterchef- - Said thanks, so I must of got the Birthday right by chance :o

canana - Corrected me on my embarrassing mistake :oops:

risi37 - Said thanks as well, what luck, not only did I get his birthday right.. he has the same B-Day as Masterchef! :o

On the 360:

pspdemoboy52 - Said I must have had the wrong person, and pointed out the right B-Day to make sure I get it right the next time :)

icstars2 - Was grateful that I wished him a happy birthday, and enjoyed it so much that he gave me his birthday so that I can wish him happy birthday again :)

Now for those who did know of my plans, I didn't forget you, for you see I am plotting something else, something that hopefully will catch you off guard... muhahahaha :twisted: *insert lightning in background* :P

And for those who fit into the 3 categories but have not had a strange message from me, your time will come.. even if you don't know it :D

Mass Effect 2- Definitely the Uncharted 2 of this year. Great graphics, great game, but way overhyped and overrated.

UPDATE: Well it has been released and has been very well received. It is still a little overrated, but definitely living up to the hype.

God of War 3- The AC2 of this year. It will be a great sequel, and a vast improvement from it's processors.

Dante's Inferno- I think Dante's Inferno to GoW3 will be as Saints Row 2 was to GTA IV. It will be a great game that will be overshadowed by a more popular game.

UPDATE: Hasn't been received as well as I hoped. Not only is it constantly being compared to how bad it is compared to GOW3, it isn't even living up to the hype it was receiving.

Halo Reach- Most likely the MW2 of this year. It will be the most hated, but also the most liked.

Alan Wake- I think this is going to be the hidden gem of the year, a really great game, but easy to miss because of the other games this year.

Half-Life 2 Episode 3- The Duke Nukem Forever of the year. Some say it will be amazing, others question it's existence, only time will tell.

MAG- I think this is going to be a flop... but not a bad flop. I think it won't be as good as it was made out to be, but a decent game netherless.

UPDATE: I haven't heard much, well anything about MAG since it's release. Nothing bad to say, nothing good to say, possibly a hidden gem?

Battlefield Bad Company 2- Like MW2, only less hated by the PC Gaming Community, and sadly not as much sales as MW2.

Now for the games I missed out on:

Heavy Rain: I think this will receive a love/hate relationship. I can't really say much as I think it could go either way with this game, but that is my 2 cents.

Splinter Cell: Conviction: I am quite biased on this one, I think this is going to be a really good game! I haven't played any Splinter Cell games, but from what I have seen from this game, I wish I had. I personally believe it will be well received by fans, and possibly well received by people like me who are new to the series.

Bioshock 2: I am kicking myself that I didn't do this game back in my previously blog, how could I have missed it! Well my thoughts were that this game would be decent, but would not live up to the original Bioshock.

Now how has it been received? Well I am not quite sure, I haven't heard much about the game after it's release, and when I do, people mainly have mixed feelings about this game.

Final Fantasy XIII: Really overhyped, I think the people who will enjoy it the most are those who aren't caught up in the hype. I think this will be like any typical FF game, but I honestly don't think it will be anything special, or a FF game which will stand out in the series.

I really hope I didn't miss any this time :)

Not that much of a change, and in case you are wondering I bought Cuboid from the PSN store and Splosion Man off of the XBLA Marketplace. The review I did was for Splosion Man :)

Mass Effect 2- Definitely the Uncharted 2 of this year. Great graphics, great game, but way overhyped and overrated.

God of War 3- The AC2 of this year. It will be a great sequel, and a vast improvement from it's processors.
