Playing devil's advocate for a moment, let's just say that video games do cause violence. That's entirely beside the point. It's a damn library. Quit lecturing them on what they can carry.
I'm sorry, I must disagree with you on that. FFVII is to this day rated as the greatest JRPG ever made. Despite how many have been released since then, with far better graphics, FFVII is still rated as the best by the vast majority. And don't get me started on how many people still find Halo:CE to be the best of the saga.
There was a time period during the PS1 generation, though somewhat brief, before the release of FFVII that there were more action/adventure games starring a female character than male. I specifically remember such because I was getting games at that time and acknowledged it. Aliens Trilogy, Tomb Raider, and D to name a few I can recall. Even Resident Evil had one of each, and most people played Jill's story because Chris' was so much harder.
@Gallowhand @atopp399 Hypothetically yes, but it's not that simple. Let's say that there are two programmers doing equally well at their job. One is working for Take-Two, the other for THQ. I think that says enough. And that's only one example of the variables that effect such. After all, how many female game directors have there been?
