OP, your logic concerning the target audience of the DS and PSP is that of a 10 year old

If you look at any sales chart, you would realize that the psp is not failing. I knew this thread was going to be terrible before I even read your post

Secondly, the DS is not 'just for kids.' But then again, you probably think Pokemon is for kids too.

I can answer WHY the psp is not outselling the DS, much in the same way the gamecube did not outsell the ps2: It has good games, it has more good games than the psp, and it does not try to do anything other than play games (DSi is more of a retaliation against apple than sony)

Sony never focused on the psp the same way nintendo did on the DS. They chose to go with the ps3, which has really redeemed itself in my eyes. The psp still has Monster Hunter, Metal Gear, and God of War to hang back on for a while. But for every good game the psp has, the DS has three. That's just the way its been for the past couple of years.

I don't tend to mind being overloaded. FPS may be of the same genre, but it's not the gameplay that interests me most. It's the stories.

It's all part of their master plan - make the Wii look casual. Then, when MS and Sony go the same route, Nintendo starts focusing on making hardcore games again, effectively busting the competition and getting back at everyone who didn't buy a gamecube.

Nintendo has made plenty of sacrifices in order to be where they are right now. They have been the innovators this gen. It's not even subjective

And they're still super successful

The Wii is basically Nintendo's way of getting back at everyone who didn't buy a gamecube. You say that third party support is "everything that matters" to "a lot of people." Sorry to burst your bubble, but exclusives still hold the influence over what consoles people buy. And guess who has the most exclusives in a ratio of greater than 3:1 compared to the competition?I can understand people being tired of mario, link, and samus, but Nintendo has plenty of other series to fall back on. Nintendo is not going to conform towards the competition just so it can sell more third party games. They would never do that because it's STUPID
