[QUOTE="exarro"]

AVP for $6.80 on steam. should i? its only 6 dollars and 80 measely cents but even that seems like too much for such a critically panned game... what do yall think?

RedDanDoc

I wouldnt bother If I were you. I have it and I want to give it away but its tied to my steam account. This game is probably ok on the Console but sucks on the PC imo.

Huh? It's a FPS it's naturally better on PC.

Try browsing the net with a controller, then try it with a mouse. What's faster? It's the same for games.

The thing I hate the most is the hit indicator that pops up everytime a bullet hits. Ruins the immersion if you ask me. It's a short and repetitive game, but it has some really cool levels at the end. I'd say it's worth 5 bucks.

So these are the possibilities

  • Red Dead
  • Max Payne 3
  • LA noir
  • GTA V
  • New game

I'm hoping for a Red Dead port :D

Nah, trust me I've tried the UDK demo. Cryengine is still much superior.

The first game supports 360 controller, so Crysis 2 should too. Although I don't see why you would want to play this game with a controller, I tried doing it with Crysis and it was pretty horrible.

It isn't helping, it's a part of the problem but not the biggest. The PC isn't mainstream like consoles, you gotta know how to maintain it and install stuff. Most kids and casual gamers (which makes up for most of the market) don't want to deal with that so they choose console instead. They wont even think about building a PC so they think all PCs are super expensive when looking at pre-builts. Then there's the fact that developers often treat the PC version like crap, with bad ports and what-not. So most of the sales go to the console version of the game, and everyone thinks it's because of pirates. It's a shame because PC is the best platfrom if you know how to use it.

It's what you'd expect from a CoD game. It has this weird platsic/paper washed-out look.

Yeah FC2 had so much potential. Like you said the main problem is the incredibly lazy mission design. It's basically just go to camp, kill everyone, come back, rinse and repeat. No sense of accomplishment whatsoever, feels like you're stuck in a infinite loop of the same mission. I wouldn't mind all the driving if it actually had a point.

but Crysis didn't even look realistic to me. Sunlight always just looked flat and way off hue, for one thing, and even the indoor environments weren't convincingly illuminated in my opinion. The ice levels didn't look right eitherJN_Fenrir

The default ToD (time of day) settings are pretty bad, a good ToD really brings the graphics to life. And it hardly affects performance, this is with Maximum Immersion mod:
