@howlingfantod: not sure what you mean? I can think of several examples, from either true MMOs or MMO-lite experiences. ESO, Destiny 2, Division 2, Warframe, and World of Warcraft, all have solo-play and group-play content.
Nice! I would not have thought to turn off the power to go behind that fan. I just assumed we'd be given that key later in the game. :) Is it worth using the SMG instead of the pistol??
@twogirlsonecub: I think I remember the PS4 tech reveal a little differently than you, but that's okay. It's historically shown that Sony took advantage of their blunders and mixed messaging, for sure. The minor differences in price and capabilities were exaggerated, though. I agree, you're right, that they were doing it better. :)
@michaeldark: not sure what you are laughing at? By your own words, they are idealists and pioneers, and they would be promoting a better gaming world for all, even if they had the lead. That sounds awesome and amazing to me.
@skyhighgam3r: Not exactly opposite, but I get what you are saying. Mass Effect to some degree, and for sure Tomb Raider reboot (SE pretty much said exactly this) would not have been made if not for MSFT funding. not trying to get into the nitty-gritty dollar amounts, but my overall point is that MSFT has a history of helping launch franchises on Xbox that then go on to become multi-platform.
The fact that Outer Worlds started as a multi-platform title is a different situation, but I'm predicting that it will stay multi-platform even though MSFT now owns it. That's what I was trying to say.
@twogirlsonecub: Sony was going to do pretty much the same thing with the PS Eye as the Kinect, and also touted multi-media features in their 2013 hardware reveal of the PS4. they weren't doing it better or cheaper, either, as the PS4 and Xbox One were going to be the same $500 price. Sony saw the backlash of Xbox One presentations and made a zero-hour course correction and decided to sell the PS Eye separately to undercut the $500 price of the Xbox One. Therefore, it's a little disingenuous to say they are doing it better and cheaper.
