We DO know that the PS4 needs a "power box" to upgrade the capabilities so it can handle the PS VR. Likely, when you buy the headset, it will come with that "power box." MY guess is that his "Neo" is going to be a new design for the PS4 that has that "power box" built in.
On one hand, this could be a case of Sony wanting to split up their announcements to make sure nobody is confused. Here is the PS VR. these are the games. then a few months later, here is the NEO and it includes the "power box" BUT if you already own a PS4, do NOT buy the NEO to play VR games as that power will come with the goggles.
On the other hand, if they do release them MONTHS apart, that could make some people really, really mad. Namely, those that don't have a PS4, DO buy a PS4 and the PS VR goggles (with the separate "power box") only to find out months later they could have just bought it all bundled together in the Neo. So yeah, it is puzzling!
If they do release the NEO this year, my guess is that it will give people the following options:
Already own a PS4 and want PS VR? Buy the PS VR Goggles (and Move controllers and camera if you don't have those) which includes an upgrade "box" (don't know what else to call it) that raises the PS4's power to handle VR. And some 4K content.
Don't own a PS4 and want PS VR and/or 4K content? Buy a Neo. "box" built into the system. (still have to buy the goggles, controllers, and camera, though I bet they will sell bundles for that, too.)
But no, it won't happen. Specs for both have been revealed and the Scorpio is a LOT more powerful. Sony *could* upgrade the specs and get a year head-start -- but that means Microsoft would ALSO have a year to counter that and STILL be more powerful with the Scorpio.
No, last year you played Advanced Warfare and the year before that you played Ghosts. This year we're playing Black Ops 3. Those are 3 different games. and you have NOT played Infinite Warfare yet because it's not out yet and it wasn't at E3.
Did you know that you can go from the street level, call down your ship, go to space, get in dogfights, land on your mothership, pick another street mission, deploy down to it and so on - with no loading screens?
Not sure if you're serious? Sony's event was amazing, but did almost exactly what you're complaining about. Of all the titles they showed videos for, only 3 of them are in the list up above for being 2016 releases.
