This could be tough. Borderlands grew as a franchise from positive word of mouth and people getting their friends to play with them. With a zany but small cast of characters that played relatively the same, it was easy to pick up and enjoy by most people.
Battleborn is nearly the opposite. First impressions by a lot of people are negative as it's actually pretty challenging. But it also has a lot of depth. If passionate fans can convince people on the fence to invest the necessary time to overcome the steep learning curve, it *could* do well.
But assuming it will have the same sales experiences as Borderlands is setting up the wrong expectations.
Yeah, I've made that prediction, that it would be a polarizing game. Those that "get it" will passionately love and defend it, and everyone else won't understand it. Which is too bad, it's a lot of fun with a good group of friends with great strategy. :)
Sometimes it takes a colossal failure to make studios realize they are wrong. Fans told them before and after the movie what was wrong with it, and the studio kept defending their choices, even after the movie bombed.
at least this guy is finally admitting that they were wrong and they should have listened to the fans in the first place.
I feel like BB is being passed by people because it's more challenging and has more depth. It's easy to pick up OW and have fun, not knocking that. but I'm really curious to see how BB performs.
x86 is the same architecture as PCs. they made a PC version. Xbox One and PS4 versions should have been very similar if not THE same game but with lower settings as the PC version. it's a pretty dumb excuse EA is trying to use, and ComputerNoises is calling them on it.
Please, the Quake engine that Activision keeps tweaking over the years is hardly something to complain about. Don't believe the "Frostbite 2.0!" hype that's the same engine that EA has been tweaking nearly as long.
