So stoked for this! I loved these games so much growing up! Also, it's written by Ron Gilbert, Murray and Guybrush both return with the same voice actors, and the original composers are back as well! Woo!
"The Monkey Island series hasn't been entirely absent for the past 31 years, as Telltale released its Tales From Monkey Island series in 2009."
Um, excuse me, did you guys just pretend like The Curse of Monkey and Escape from Monkey Island didn't exist!? :-/ I feel downright offended. Escape was kind of bad, but Curse was amazing!
Then there's people like me, who from the start couldn't care less about either one, since I'm only interested in physical copies of games unless that option is not available for a game. Yes, I know, very expensive by comparison. I don't care. Digital copies of games can get taken down and be removed, for whatever reason (being old and no longer being supported, publisher and developer companies shutting down or changing ownership, legal/copyright stuff, server trouble, etc). Physical copies are forever unless you lose or break them, or your console dies and you can't find a replacement (the latter of which is not likely to ever happen, since you can still find even really old consoles for sale online). I especially like GOTY etc editions that come with all DLC's included, so I don't have to download and install those (I miss the old days when DLC's weren't a thing, because I hate how much companies exploit the feature to get you to pay more money for stuff that should have been included in the game to begin with). Plus I like collecting them, and friends can borrow them from me.
@id0ntkn0w7: I want a 3D Zelda game that has the same level of story, combat, dungeons, environment variety, and graphics as Twilight Princess, but with the exploration of Breath of the Wild (though perhaps dialed down slightly. I do think I have to run around a bit too much too much in BotW to clear everything), and the new combat stuff from BotW included. I also want lots of different equipment like in the previous games, and I want the return of magic, and I want more enemy variety than ever; like, give me Lynels, Stalmasters, and Darknuts all in the same game! Why settle for one badass powerful enemy, when you can have several different ones? If it had all of this, that would be the perfect Zelda game for me. Breath of the Wild added a lot of cool new stuff to the franchise (the awful weapon breaking mechanic not being one of them...), but unfortunately also took away an equal amount of the good stuff from the previous games imo.
Personally I find Super Mario Galaxy 1 to be better than 2, and both games to be miles better than Odyssey. I think Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess are all much more enjoyable than Breath of the Wild as well. And I prefer Goldeneye to Perfect Dark, and the GTA games I love are Vice City and San Andreas. Soul Calibur 2 is better than 1 as well, now that I think about it.
I want something like this, but for Mario Party. Mario Party Superstars is great, and the best Mario Party in many years imo, taking the series back to the superior style of the old games, but the fact that they only gave us 5 stages, and no DLC, is a crime...I want remakes of all the old stages from the first 7 games, not just 5 of them...
"The previous game was a major success for the studio, despite eschewing modern conventions by being single-player and containing no microtransactions."
What do you mean "despite"? It's exactly because the game doesn't have that crap that it's actually decent, is it not? Nobody wants that kind of nonsense.
Man, wish I had known earlier about the fact that you could just shoot bomb arrows at those switches...that would have saved me a ton of time...Also, lol, continously blowing yourself up like that on Death Mountain. XD
